I'm 9+4 weeks and have been feeling dreadful since week 5! I'm not actually being sick but I'm feeling so rough that I haven't been able to go to work for the past month and I'm totally knackered all the time as well.
Feeling very lonely and miserable being at home all day. Anyone experiencing or previously experienced similar symptoms got any advice/support or just want to keep me company and whinge??

Worksallhours - I've had the dizzy & light spells today as well, instantly followed by those hot flushes I seemed so intent on mentioning earlier, followed by ice cold ones. Its rubbish. I never got that fabled pregnancy glow with DD and I'm willing to bet I don't get it this time either. I think its a load of bollocks :whinge:

If anyone is near Leeds, we went to Meet Your Baby near Ikea for DD's private scans and they were lovely, so that's where we're going Saturday. It is in an office block though which is somewhat disconcerting!

I'm eating so much celery I'm prob about to turn into a stick of it. Evenings are worst for me on the nausea front. I've been wondering how on earth women managed it in days of yore too - when they had like ten children. Ten x 3 months of vomminess, that's 2 & half years of feeling sick. Ugh!

couldbeanyone · 25/09/2014 20:22

Splodge if you're a stick of celery then I'm a cheese sandwich!!!

Glad to come across this three when yet again am awake at 5.30am... Am surprised about how tired I am starting to feel, have been going to the gym in the mornings hoping that would make me.more energised....

Will be 5 weeks tomorrow and made some cupcakes last night for a MacMillan coffee morning. I make cakes and cupcakes as a hobby and am used to spending hours in the kitchen after work, but I really struggled last night, had to keep sitting down

Other than needing to pee alot in the mornings and suffering with wind and trapped wind (sorry hubby) I haven't had any other symptoms, think any nausea is down to the trapped wind

Hi everyone. As a 7 weeker, I am so thankful for this thread. First pregnancy, first everything!
I do have a question, when you have vomited (yay...) Does anyone have tips on how to soothe your throat? I vomited last night for second time after two mouthfuls of our normally delicious Indian takeaway (it was stupid to order it, I know, but I just Did. Not. Want. To. Cook.)
This morning I am producing a lot of mucus at back of throat I think to 'help' with the roughness that is still there (sorry to be graphic but we all know we have to get over the 'graphicness'!) and it's making it worse in my opinion!

Also, not sleeping at night ladies? I hear you!! Two weeeks of waking up around 3-4 and that's me done. But I have to nap during the days as it helps relieve headaches/exhaustion/nausea etc. Aargh!

splodge77 · 26/09/2014 14:02

me too, awake from 4.30 after a wee trip last night, brain going mad with anxious thoughts. Crap!

leanne963 · 26/09/2014 16:49

Ahhhhh the 4 am pee trip that turns into not getting back to sleep. This is not fun lol!

I have had a terrible snotty nose since last Friday and today is the first day I feel ok! About 6 weeks now so I am a little bit worried, I feel like I need to have morning sickness to believe everything is ok! But I am still early I guess and I could be jinxing it by saying that!!!!

TerrifiedMothertobe · 26/09/2014 20:13

Firstly. Big congrats on your pregnancy.

Morning sickness sucks. Dry toast. Sleep lots all helped me. Eat what your body asks for- mins was bananas with baby 1 and apples with baby2!

When you think you couldn't possibly feel more awful, don't worry you are probably about to turn the corner.

Good luck!

princesscupcakemummyb · 26/09/2014 22:21

been their in my last pregnancy and soon you will forget it i miss being pregnant and i cant wait to feel all the joys of pregnancy again on another note it will get better eat little and not junk sleep if possible it helps

chocicecream5 · 27/09/2014 10:04

Oh God! I remember that so well. I was convinced with my second pregnancy something was wrong because I felt I had been run over by a truck. I struggled to walk down stairs to open the door! Terrible headaches too!
I would try and rest/sleep as much as you can, eat little and often and don't feel guilty about any of it. It will begin to fade at about 16 weeks, maybe earlier. Just think it's not for ever x

GammaDelta · 27/09/2014 11:42

God i remember my first trimester so well. . so so exhausting .. even after 8 -9 hours of sleep (usually sleep for 6 hrs at best) i used to feel exhausted all day long n keep yawning as well. The only thing that helped me was a daily walk after lunch. .Smile Smile

hyperspacebug · 27/09/2014 21:18

Urgh yes. I am in third pregnancy so I don't quite have the halo and excitement of the first pregnancy after 2 years TTC despite bad morning sickness.

I really feel like a very ill person with some bad condition, not a pregnant woman filled with new life. Fingers crossed it is not going to be like that all pregnancy.

Eliza22 · 27/09/2014 22:08

I was 38 when I had my son. I was tired and nauseated throughout. I thought it was an age thing but actually, I think some people just "are"! It didn't help that I was a nursing sister and working shifts up to the week before I had him.

Eat small amounts often. Stay hydrated. All this will pass....x

applecore0317 · 27/09/2014 23:27

Any one else suffering with headaches? Not overly bad, bit the niggling kind that make you feel like you have a cold coming on

VisualiseAHorse · 28/09/2014 11:50

I'm 8 weeks, and really suffering. This is my second pregnancy, and last time it lasted for five months! Travel sickness bands are really helping, putting them on before I get out of bed helps. And making sure I eat something every two hours.

lizanne135 · 28/09/2014 13:27

Hi applecore, I defintely have been having the headaches, throughout the day, but worse before bed. Been trying to stay off paracetamol for as long as I can but on Thursday I just had to take one as we had house guests staying and I wasn't coping.
Then on Friday and yesterday I did actually develop a cold, but it's not been as bad as some I've had.
Resting in a darkened room is helping. I'm figuring out which foods I can take, and I am eating about every 2 hrs. Some days the nausea is bad, others, like yesterday I had a half hour hit in the morning and then was ok in terms of pregnancy symptoms for the rest of the day - to the extent I actually cooked a chicken goulash to stock up on as its one of the things I can eat.
We'll get there ladies - let's look forward to the burst of energy we will supposedly get in trimester 2!

babymc · 28/09/2014 16:28

Hi everyone :) I'm coming to the end of my first trimester (13+3) and still feel rubbish :(

My sickness started about 5 weeks too and has gotten steadily worse and can't seem to find anything to ease it, tried everything! I reluctantly got Cyclizine from my GP because I'd lost over half a stone in 4 weeks and just took it for the first time so I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm just hoping it passes in the next few weeks and then I can 'glow'! x

espanyabonita · 28/09/2014 17:28

anybody give advice or idea? my last period is august 2014, and now im still hoping i get pregnant ive been trying for 9 yrs. i HOPE there is positive luck this time.

freshstart4us · 30/10/2014 13:29

Ah ladies... We are all in good company! Am 7+3 and feel like I have constant motion sickness, nausea, blocked/runny sinuses, sore boobs and so, so tired. Also my sense of smell is off the charts, even just standing in a lift with too many people has me wretching after 2 floors, don't get me started on the stinky people on trains and smokers in the street! Waking about 3 or 4am like others, INSANE dreams when I am asleep... This is my second pregnancy and all seems fairly familiar from first time round, which doesn't make it any easier btw. LOL

I recommend Doriano crackers with a very like scraping of butter as a really easy, bland food and just eating whatever you can keep down, 1st trimester is indeed just to be endured I think. I know my 2nd trimester was much easier last time around!

freshstart4us · 30/10/2014 13:30

*light scraping, not like!

applecore0317 · 30/10/2014 19:40

Ever since I have stopped taking the pregnancy vitamins and take folic acid only I have felt loads better, they were making feel horrendous. Now all I have is sore boobs, tiredness and greasy skin and am still bloated, but way better than when I was taking the vitamins which blocked me up and made me extremely nauseous

htf2 · 31/10/2014 18:11

ah works i have been thinking about confinement too! I think I could handle this if I didn't have to go to work...although I would probably not have gotten out of bed for the last month which is my plan for the weekend. (I am 9 weeks)
