You're not ill, just pregnant...

Arhhhhhh! But I feel so ill! I know it's meant to be 'The most natural thing' etc etc but it's difficult to function when I feel so nauseous and have my head down the toilet most days I'm struggling at work with limited concentration and my work load is building up. Hence, the house isn't as clean as it should be, the washing basket is always overflowing and all I want to do is sleep as im exhuasted and it's the only time I don't feel sick! Anyway I my MIL has said to my DH 'gosh, she's not ill, just pregnant-when I was pregnant I worked, cooked, cleaned, looked after all of you..etc'

Am I just not coping as well?!

I've been incredibly lucky through this pregnancy and I would NEVER say that to you. I thank my lucky stars that I didn't have morning sickness or tiredness because I don't think I would have handled it well. I'm now coming to the end of my pregnancy and am bored silly by it. I want my baby here safe and sound and that's all that's keeping me going. I've spoken to friends who tell me that mentally and physically it can be a slog, but the end result is always worth it.

Ugh, tell her to bog off. Your DH should be pulling his weight too! I like shopgirl's advice - lay it on thick about how rubbish you feel and how she was lucky.

I hope you'll have the same level of sympathy when she gets elderly aches and pains. All part of life.

Pregnancy is hard. I'm 10 weeks and feel awful. I'm never sick but nauseous all day. Retching in the night, when out and about, at my desk. It's awful. I seem to recall it stopping last time at about the same time as the trapped nerves kicked in. Joy.
