Maternity Clothes

Right so I'm 15 weeks pregnant and massive! So I've finally decided to cave in and get some maternity clothes however I can't find any that I like! There just doesn't seem to be a very good selection in any of the stores....that I can see! Anyone got any good suggestions? Or know of any websites? I'm only 27....I don't want to look like a frump, lol! Thanks!

A friend of mine had a lovely maxi on the other day, I was totally that it came from asda! Online maternity only, they will deliver to your local store within 48 hours

I got some trousers today that I ordered from asda and they were soooooooooo comfy but just not the right length or shape for me. Wasn't impressed with new look but h&m seems good so am going to explore this week!

I got loads from New Look, massive selection on their website. I bought jeans from H&M and Mothercare. The Mothercare ones kept their fit better.

I found H&M, Topshop and Asos to have the best collection for not being frumpy although Asos sizing always came up a bit weird for me. I bought most of my stuff from H&M as they have a collection in store and didn't have to buy everything online.

New look online is ace even if I would never go in their shops (feel a decade too old!).

Jojo Maman Bebe is actually reasonable esp in the sale.

I got a few bits from Jojo Maman Bebe for work - sensible dresses etc. The one I wear most though is from H&M. The rest of my clothes (at 34 weeks) are still non maternity just worn under bump - harem pants, tunic tops, empire line jersey dresses in a slightly bigger size than usual. Luckily I didn't need to go to any big fancy events, so I could get away with a lot of leggings etc.

There's hardly anything in the shops. Online is the way forward - just be prepared to send a load of stuff you order straight back! So much of it is is hideously unflattering and I guess it depends on your body and bump shape which is so individual.
I really struggled to find nice maternity clothes and had to order loads online to find just a few pieces that I liked.
In the end I got my stuff from asos, a couple of bits from mothercare, H&M, new look and Jojomaman.
I've also worn non maternity maxi's throughout and a couple of really generous baggy style tops/tunics. If you like maxi's that is a good way forward as you can wear them after as well.

I'm in my 20s and bought this dress from top shop other day.. I'm 26 weeks.. It's so flattering! Great for with sandals at the moment and then with my boots and a cardi in winter!

Having been pregnant/post maternity for the best part of two years this is my tuppence worth

New Look is reasonable and great for jeans, pj bottoms

Asos isn't great but I got a navy and green stripe top that is nice and flattering (but size down)

H&m is good in store - I love the twin pack of nursing tops (though I didn't really think much of them when I bf, but they are flattering with a longline cardigan over them)

Jojo mama stuff is nice bit also comes up big. Shirt I bought was very difficult to iron

I got some tshirts out of peacocks.

The only places I found that had stuff in store was JoJo, New Look, Debenhams and Mothercare. I bought one or two bits from them, and also found Gap (had to order online) was pretty good.

I ended up getting all of my tops from an online store called Purpless. Relatively cheap, well fitted and loads of choice on style and colours.

The only jeans/trousers I could find that fitted at all were from JoJo. I also got a nice work dress from there. Their sizes do come up big there though. I had to size down!

I bought heavenly bump stuff from amazon having had a tip off on here that it was quite cheap.

I love my jeans from H&M, I'll miss them when I no longer have a bump. They just fit me perfectly!! May check out their normal jeans one day.

I have about 4 proper maternity tops from mother care, 2 t-shirts and 2 bit smarter.

I have a navy/white striped midi length t-shirt style dress from peacocks that has served me well. They no longer stock it but I noticed next have a similar one.

And one extravagant purchase from next, a lace navy evening/cocktail dress.

I'd love to buy more but just can't justify it, only 10 weeks left!!

I've actually got a lot more wear out of non-maternity clothes than I expected - either stretchy things I already owned (worth going through the back of your wardrobe) or new stuff bought from my usual shops a few sizes up or in a shape that fits around a bump well. There's so much more choice with non-maternity clothing, it's normally cheaper and when you can try things on in store it's easy to work out what will be comfortable and flatter your new shape.

Some maternity basics are useful - a bump band or two, a few pairs of maternity leggings/jeans etc, but even at 38 weeks I'm still wearing a mix of normal and maternity clothes.

I'm not pregnant but always go and admire H&Ms maternity wear! :)

Also H&M have lots of stretchy jersey basics - skirts, vest tops etc - which would be great for an expanding bump.

h and m here too, im 5"2 and very big at 35wks, im living in my h+m 3/4length leggings, theyre so comfy, also bought a few tops from there but the sizing varies wildly so you really do need to try things on. I drove miles to the biggest one I was told had a large maternity section, but when we arrived it was one corner on the back wall, hardly a huge selection!!

mothercare-found to be quite expensive and some of the items are plain odd- they have a nice strapless maternity maxi dress in stores at the moment- but who wears no bra when pregnant?! and why would you want massive wide bra straps showing?? nice dress but whoever designed it with straps is a idiot!

new look-really reasonable prices, ordered a maxi from there, just fits without dragging on the ground and is very comfy.

I have just started to wear maternity in the past few days at 13 weeks and finding that I can't keep the trousers up no matter what size or brand they are! Maybe I just need to get bigger!

I've got some work bits from Next and Mamalicious (found cheap on Amazon) and basics from Peacocks which are lovely quality for the price. Will add more as the seasons change. Lived in H&M and New Look stuff in my last 2 pregnancies so will be going back there to buy the bulk of my maternity stuff this time.

Don't write off Mamas and Papas - I did quite early on because it all looked so odd on their website. I went in to an actual store on my 'big baby shop' a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by the clothes - they were really nice and not frumpy. Much more interesting shapes than the standard empire line/wrap dress thing that everyone else seems to do. Unfortunately too late for me, I can't justify anything at 34 weeks.
