Anyone up?? My waters just broke and, as I'm T1 diabetic I called the hospital and I need to go in at about 8.30. I'm not quite 38 weeks. Do broken waters mean I'm dilated??

Hmm, sleeping is going to be tricky tonight!

Rest as much as you can! Hard I know but try. Even if you can't sleep just try relaxing and darkened room, bouncing on ball perhaps?

Good luck!

Vanillaradio · 02/08/2014 21:53

Good luck. I have t1 diabetes and had ds at 37+4. He was fine and is currently a 9 month old bundle of energy.

VJONES1985 · 02/08/2014 21:59

Thanks vanilla, that's reassuring :-)

Agree with getting some rest. Hope you're ok!

VJONES1985 · 03/08/2014 03:24

Having contractions every 15 minutes. Shall we say, "ouch"..?!

I would be going back to the hospital soonish :)

VJONES1985 · 03/08/2014 05:55

I called them and they said to go in when I'm contracting every five minutes. Although I was booked in for induction at 9am today anyway so will be going in regardless.

Good luck!!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/08/2014 06:43

VJONES I'm really surprised they haven't got you in for continuous monitoring Shock

I'm type one and have had two pre term inductions (36 and 35 weeks). I know you're almost term but still... I can't imagine my consultant would have allowed that!

It's great that you've carried so long and even better that you seem to be labouring naturally.

How exciting Smile

Mumof3xox · 03/08/2014 06:52

Good luck op!

Doesn't sound like you need that induction!

BBQsAreSooooOverrated · 03/08/2014 07:32

Really hope things are going well Vj! Smile

Hi VJones, having blood-tinged waters is very frequent and normal, especially when your baby has been monitored and the CTG was reassuring. It sounds to me you are having a very normal start of labour, and you may not even need augmentation, yay! If your labour is progressing normally, it may very well be that you will only need periodic blood sugar level checks throughout labour. Best of luck with your birth and please keep updating :)

DearDinah · 04/08/2014 07:54

Good luck!

VJONES1985 · 04/08/2014 14:24

Our beautiful son Lucas William arrived at 3.37 this morning following an emergency C section because my labour stalled at 5cm dilated. I'm in love.
