Does it bloody well look like it.. why do people ask the most stupid question when it's dam obvious that you haven't, and you would have contacted them if you had.. Im 4 days over and sick to death of these silly remarks..does anyone else have this problem, or is it just my family and friends?? aaaaahhhhhhhh

My MIL used to ring and ask. I was quite tempted to say "yes, I had it 3 weeks ago and didn't tell you". Also ARGH!

ComeOVeneer · 15/09/2006 16:37

Just say to them the next time someone asks "actually yes, I had it 2 weeks ago but can't seem to shift any of the weight" . My sympathies, I went almost 2 weeks overdue with my first and was climbing the walls. Good luck I'm sure it will be soon (to the best of my knowledge nobody has ever remained permenantely pregnant).

Tiddler · 15/09/2006 16:39

Quality.. i like it, ive had about 5 messages this morning all asking the same question, im gonna have to turn the phone off before i launch it, it's drivein me mad, ive already unplugged the home phone as i just can't be bothered to talk about it, i don't feel good as any expectant mum knows at this stage, and silly questions like this are just doing my head in... silly silly people!!!!

I used to tell people (esp my DSis) that of course I had had the baby(ies) but that I enjoyed the experience so much that I shoved the baby(ies) back in and wanted to do it all again!

Honestly! Grrrrrrrr

anniediv · 15/09/2006 16:40

So Tiddler, haven't you had that baby yet??!!

ComeOVeneer · 15/09/2006 16:41

Is this your first Tiddler? If so take the chance to relax and pamper youself, watch movies, read, take long soaks in the bath, great if you have a sore back which no doubt you do at this stage. I looked rather like a prune in the last few days the amount of time I spent in the bath.

Tiddler · 15/09/2006 16:43

I just don't know what some people are on, especially family, are they stupid?? Do they really think you could hide something like that.. like you really need these comments at this stage when your waiting on tender hooks every hour.. it was bad enough month or so back with "are you sure there's only one in there" I think there must be some kind of book that these morons read .. what to say to P expectant mum off and at what stage to say it in pregnancy... !!!!!

anniediv · 15/09/2006 16:45

Tiddler, when dd3 was 4 weeks old and I hadn't shifted much weight I was asked "are you sure you've not got another one in there?" Get used to it, pregnant women seem to become public property!

Tiddler · 15/09/2006 16:47

Yes it's my first.. long story, was told wouldn't have any so we really are chuffed to bits, but been off work for 11 weeks now as veins in legs so bad can hardly walk, so as you can well imagine im getting quite bored now, all i do is read, listen to music, as don't have a telly.. (Not that i want one) just not a sit down person at all and really getting itchy feet, don't feel good and haven't from day one, so these comments are just doing my nut.. and breath.... sorry to have a moan, i just can't believe how silly some people are.. .. and no i haven't had my baby just yet.. although have been having lots of contractions today, so you never know!!!

OP posts:
spinach · 15/09/2006 16:49

people have been asking me this for weeks now... i still have 7 weeks left... am i getting irritated? YES

Tiddler · 15/09/2006 16:52

it's shocking isn't it.. i had a lady ask me when i was at work, i told her i wasn't pregnant.. im awfull, it was funny though.. her face was a picture..

OP posts:
spinach · 15/09/2006 16:55

when i was 6 months preg, i did look 8 months gone, so now i look normal pregnancy size... when poeple said 'oh, not long now by the looks of things'.... and i said 'well three months feels like a bloody long time'.... they were shocked, but seemed almost disgusted i could look so big! like i can do anything about it.! i just carry big very early and it levels off! whats it got to do with them anywy... and the number of times people say 'are you sure theres only one in there....' BORING

Tiddler · 15/09/2006 17:00

I know, it's done my head in, i wouldn't have the nerve to say such a thing, esp to someone i don't even know, it may be a bit dif if its your own family but god even then i think id be a bit carefull.. and why do complete strangers think they can just come and rub your tummy?? You'd be had up if you did it to any other part of the bodie.. sod it think i might just go up to someone in co op later and frisk them, see how they like it.. ha.ha.. Im on a role.. best stay in doors i think.. funny hey!!

3andnomore · 15/09/2006 19:33

(((Tiddler)))) you poor thing! gosh am I lucky and glad that mine were all on time or early, lol, as even then you will still get ask this, but not as long and often, lol!
With my3. and last ds I had similar experiences as Spinach....well...for teh first 18-20 weeks people were in disbelief that I actually was pg and certainly gasp when I told them that indeed I was about halfway...well...only for things to change and to suddenly devellope a bump fast and then people ask from about 26 weeks on, that surely I am soon due, etc...hm...14 weeks...hm...not sure I call that soon, lol...but I did have a massive bump, lol!

Tiddler · 16/09/2006 12:14

I really thought last night was it, cramps in stomach and back, headache and feeling sick.. and nothing, not a sausage... and today i can hardly walk with so much pain in you know where.. come on child please.. i really can't take much more of this.

OP posts:
beansprout · 16/09/2006 12:18

I HATED that. Ds was born 20 days after his due date so I was SICK TO DEATH of that comment by the end!! Anyone who said it was instantly relegated to the bottom of my "people to tell that I have had the baby" list!!

Tiddler · 16/09/2006 12:22

What a good idea, yes i like the sound of that beansprout, im so fed up and in so much pain i really could scream, everyday is the same.. Im sick of talking about it to people who haven't a clue what im going through, and im sick of getting in and out of the bath i feel like a big prune. Im bored stupid.

OP posts:
Tommy · 16/09/2006 12:28

my Mum used to phone me every day to ask if there was any news.... drives you bloody mad doesn't it?
Have also used the "Yes - I've had it - did I forget to tell you?" answer, the "yes I have but I didn't like it so I put it back" and the "hang on - I'll just check - no...definitly haven't had the baby yet" one.
Feel for you tiddler

I think it's just people trying to be kind and make "jokey" references, forgetting of course that when you hear then 15 times an hour, they're not funny at all

Tiddler · 16/09/2006 12:34

No there not funny, and it doesn't make it any easier when your in so much bloody pain, they can see im p'd off so why add to the problem. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! sorry . x

Gingeme · 16/09/2006 12:36

OP posts:
sophiewd · 16/09/2006 14:39

Tiddler i got really bored of people asking me if I knew what it was and I jsut repled It's a baby and walked off

LieselVonTrapp · 16/09/2006 14:41

They used to say to me "are you having twins" cause I was so big. I mean would you ever say that to anyone, how rude is that.
