This is an unashamed moan- my first as I love being pregnant and feel v grateful at the grand old age if 42 but this is toooo much! I enjoy summer but today it really is hot out there!
Am 36 weeks and Have not really found any coping strategies in the heat apart from

  1. persuade DH to do more around house in evening including picking stuff up off the floor
  2. stay inside till late pm - it's too hot to enjoy with toddler too
  3. nap when toddler sleeps
My energy levels have just dropped and haven't had a chance to pack hospital bag yet - eek!
Ah yes and been watching much more c Beebies than ever before!!
    Anyone else need a rant?!!

How did everyone get on today?! Had a slightly better day as a) discovered Tesco was the coldest place in the vicinity b) persuaded DH to rig up an umbrella over the paddling pool and DS decided it was funny to water my legs with his watering can!

It was a better day here, but that was because ds was with mil for the afternoon so I got to go swimmimg and then relax!

Not a good day. Dd was much better behaved but I can't stop crying. Think it's just exhaustion and the heat. Really felt like I couldn't carry on earlier. Having some melted chocolate and off to bed soon.

Just posted this on the wrong thread:

Goodness today has been a hot one. Me and the toddler have had 3 cold baths. We spent ages in Paperchase as they have very good air con. I had to stand reading all the cards while i cooled off.

We are now having the most loud and incredible storm. But somehow DS is sleeping thru it. I am having a weak shandy and watching the lightening.

I took DS to a toddler group this morning and he was a hot and bothered bugger. He snatched and ran around knocking into everyone/thing then had the most almighty tantrum trying to smash up the play kitchen. I got lots of kindly ladies coming over to head tilt and sympathise with being pregnant in the heat and looking after 'such a lively little chap'. He only slept for an hour too and then went to bed at 9.30. I'm knackered.

Swimming sounds gorgeous Tory. I may leave DS with DH and bugger off on my own in the morning.

Totally feeling everyone's pain! I'm 28 weeks pregnant with a hormonal 9 year old, a tantruming 3 year old and a lovely but bloody heavy 10 month old. I'm in Cheshire and no thunderstorms yet, it's ridiculously hot I feel like I can't breathe :)

Your only hope is an air conditioned shopping centre or maybe Ikea. Maybe with another friend with toddler. I should know, had two pregnancies in tropical countries. It was awful! Spent most of my time in shoppingmall!

Just re-read that obviously I'm not pregnant with a 9 year old that would be very strange! I'm pregnant with a baby and I have a 9 year oldGrin
