Just thought I'd share a particularly entertaining evening where I (currently 30 weeks) popped out for a few hours tonight for a friends birthday and the incredible amount of double takes and open staring was hilarious! Who knew we were allowed out after dark haha a!! It was tempting to fake a few contractions to see what people did hehe!! Would love to hear anyone else's night out stories! Now to bed methinks!!

My nct ladies and I went for dinner last week all 38ish weeks the look on others faces as we all waddled out was hilarious!

I don't think I'd have the energy for a night out at the mo (36 weeks), went to a wedding last weekend I had to leave by 9!

I did go out for lunch with a group of friends the other day, and (with the exception of me) it was a very boozy lunch and they were all very tiddly. I was drinking alcohol free lager but from a distance it probably looked like I was joining right in! I did get a few looks!

I went to a party at 38weeks and the only comments I got was people asking OH when he was going to get around to having kids. No-one seemed to be able to tell I was heavily pregnant.

However I went for pizza while I was in Labour (waters had gone so fairly hard hard contractions going on) that got a few comments.

I remember going to a pub quiz when heavily pregnant with DS1 (and I was huge), pub is a family sort of place, never rowdy, about 15 mins from my house, was with a large group of family and friends so perfectly safe and sensible. I'm a non drinker anyway so only had my normal orange juice but still got lots of shocked looks from others!!
Some people seems to think that after 30 weeks you should be confined to the house until baby pops out, hope you had a great time OP!!

I went to a new years eve party in a pub at 38 weeks. I got some very disapproving looks.

Every friday a group of friends used to meet in the local (more of an eating place than a drinking pub) I continued to do this until my DD was born. Someone would pick me up and take me home again, when I went overdue he would make me sit on a towel in the car but got a lot of looks. I carried on with life as I normally would, obviously minus the drink etc

Yay!! Love these stories! I did have a great time thanks especially a little bit of dancing around to some 90s tunes ( which probably added to the looks lol!) glad there's lots more ladies out having fun too

I went to a couple of local, mini festivals the week after my due date, and a proper gig 2 days before my due date (it was walking distance from my flat). People got very alarmed when I said I was due! It's like you shouldn't leave the house after 37 weeks.

I also went to the market with the baby in a sling 2 days after birth and people thought I was a bit mental then (it's only a couple of minutes from my house and I wanted some fresh air was all!) She was under 7 lb and teeeeeeeeny tiiiiiny

I went to a football match on the Saturday and gave birth on the Friday! The stewards were all watching me like hawks and every time we scored I stood to cheer but had to sit down quickly...also I couldn't fit through the turnstiles so they had to open the big door for me, my step dad was very embarrassed

It's really funny, some people (MIL) seem to think that once you are past the 8 month mark you should really be confined to the house, only allowed out to go to midwife appointments! I'm not going out clubbing but even going to the local shops on my own seems to cause some people to panic that not indoors 'resting'!

I've continued to go out throughout pregnancy. Aparantly from the back I still have my pre pregnancy figure. The look on this poor chaps face when he realised I was pregnant after pinching my bottom lol!

I'm going to a heavy metal gig on Wednesday (28 weeks). DH can't come with me as we're babysitterless but I'm taking two other people's husbands (both couples good friends of ours) with me instead.

Can't wait! Really love this band.

I went to a wedding 150 miles away at 39 weeks and mainly people were just impressed that id made the effort to go!

Yup a lot of people seem to think you should be pining on the sofa like a Victorian lady don't they? Unless you actually need some genuine help with DIY or Ikea shopping

I go out, only difference is I no longer wear ludicrous high heels or drink actual booze!
Baby quite likes hip hop and metal as a matter of fact! Bounces along to the base!

I went out at 40 weeks and had two (small) glasses of wine. I figured by that point it didn't matter at all and DH had to drive anyway as I could no longer reach.

I'm currently 34 weeks and I was at download festival 2 weeks ago. Some people had a stare but never said anything. I did camp from the Thursday to Monday.... my campsite neighbours were used to seeing me sitting resting my drinks on my bump.... all non alcoholic.

Life doesn't stop cos you are pregnant....

Lynnieboo I'm so jealous. We decided to sell our Download tickets due to being 35 weeks pregnant that weekend. I was bothered about needing the loo every 20 seconds! Looks like it is possible to festival at over 30 weeks. Not sure my elephant feet would have fit in suitable footwear though lol!

I think it just being pregnant that locks you in the house. Went out for food sat night with some work friends.

Am only 10 weeks and non alcoholic drinks all night. So we get on train my friend give me his seat unfortunately some 40 yr old woman overhears why
Then got a 15 minute lecture of some drunk woman as to why I should be at home xx

Haha wish I could go shopping but walking really fucking hurts now (due on Friday!). I was swimming until 35 weeks and I'm pretty sure I was designated additional lifeguards!

Signora - who are you going to see? We did our last gig when I was 17 weeks and I was shattered!

Lynnieboo I an seriously impressed!! Would have loved to have gone to download, trying to work out if we can do it next year with baby in a sling lol! Some of you ladies put my evening out to shame lol! More power to us! Xx

We went out for dinner on my due date to celebrate. Got a taxi home and the driver asked me when I was due.....then looked nervous!
