this one Bibiboo

It's light and easy to fold, plus comfy for Bean. Also has the base for the car seat which I prefer. Hurrah!!

Turtle35 · 30/06/2004 16:59

Bean I am so pleased you like your pillow, my DH is rather jealous of mine! Feel a bit ripped off knowing Eyelash got hers for £11.00 at Costco!! what a deal May non-sleeping be a thing of the past!

I like your choice of TS also, am seriously considering that one too, though do really like the bugaboo - am going bubster shopping tomorrow so really need to start making decisions.

Just went mad shopping in Formes sale - lots of lovely things still there. I felt HUGE compared to the other toned, little tummy, woman in there. Mind you I think most of them are at that stage where there pre pg clothes are too tight but bump not really protruding. God remember those days ladies??

Piglit I told DH that you were getting a puppy and I want one too - I have always wanted a little lab don't mind if it's black or beige or what ever color (like the Andrex puppy). He keeps reminding me that I'll be the one at home with baby and puppy and if I can handle it then fine. So do you have a strategy for when exactly the puppy should arrive etc? Like a month before the baby or a month after? Basically a puppy is like a baby, wants to eat and sleep and poop most of the time and needs LOTS of love - maybe it's like having twins

Turtle35 · 30/06/2004 17:02

Oh by the way Florence I use your tactic also, have loads of ice cream with some fruit then feel I am consuming the food group I need

Toots · 30/06/2004 17:38

I want one! I want one! Bean's pillow, please, VERY much NOT a puppy.

Which one, how much? spill the beans Beans. Has anyone read Vicky Iovine's 'The Best Friend's Guide to Pregnancy'? She loves her pillow so much her husband starts to refer to it as 'your boyfriend', then it gets called 'Phil'.

beansprout · 30/06/2004 17:48

This is the fella

The "alternative picture" shows the packaging to look for in the shop. It's the nursery section in the shop, not bedding as dp and I thought. Cue snotty assistant looking at me "do we look like we stock 5 foot cushions you fat moose? Go upstairs to the section we like to herd you into. Go on."

All credit to Turtle for finding this for us in the first place!

Toots · 30/06/2004 18:04

By crikey, that looks just the ticket.

I've a good mind to go and give the bedding assistant a Big V of their very own.

piglit · 30/06/2004 18:08

Turtle - our puppy arrives in mid July. Can't wait! That should give me almost 3 months to get it house trained and doing everything I ask (including popping to the shop to get me a bar of chocolate) before baby arrives. Ha ha ha.... Seriously, I know it'll be hard work but we've talked it over and over, dh and I both grew up with dogs and we've decided to go for it. Besides, dh is such a star at helping out with everything so I know he'll be good with the puppy.

Beansprout - I am having a good chuckle at your John Lewis woman. I will definitely buy a cushion next week when I'm in JL checking out the scratch mittens. Oh and I just love the travel system you've gone for. Would you mind if I copied you on that as well?

beansprout · 30/06/2004 18:10

I just did my best "shame on you for dissing a leedle moose" face.

Actually, not quite sure how that came across to the assistant. It could well have just looked like a pout from a short woman who was walking a bit funny.

Nuance is lost on these people.

beansprout · 30/06/2004 18:11

Piglit - go for it!!

Allyco · 30/06/2004 22:19

dear all - I've been off awhile. Anyway, was taken into hospital as emergency with awful pain went straight to labour ward v scary. Turns out that as well as a baby growing I also have a tumour which is growing too and both are fighting for space somewhat so hence the pain. Got that stabilised with morphine, lovely stuff. Got weaned off that and onto lesser painkillers so that babe won' be addicted at birth and been told try and get to 32/33 weeks then they'll deliver. As you can imagine I am v v scared so any messages of support gratefully received

littlerach · 30/06/2004 22:32

Sorry to hear that, hope you are feeling as good as you can at the mo. Have no experience i am afraid, but can offer you sympathy and hugs.
My DD was born at 35 wks and is fine, 32-33 wks is a good gestation period. Try and rest as much as you can, and don't be afraid to ask for help.xxx

beansprout · 30/06/2004 23:46

Oh Allyco, that sounds just awful, you poor thing. I'm so sorry to hear that. How are you feeling now? It must have been a horrible shock. Big, big hug to you and hope you can try to take it easy these coming few weeks and get the information and reassurance you need.
How many weeks are you now? Take care we are here if you need us xx

motherinferior · 01/07/2004 00:32

Allyco, I am so sorry. xxxx

Turtle35 · 01/07/2004 13:10

Oh Allyco my heart goes out to you, try not to let it stress you out (easier said then done I am sure). I agree with Bean try and get as much information/education as possible from the medics on this. I think you will feel more confident knowing as much as possible.

I have read numerous times that gestation time will be absolutely fine, the bubster will be real small that's all. Big big hugs to you

Turtle35 · 01/07/2004 13:15

I should be making some sort of commission out of these pillows. Be warned they do take up space in the bed.

Allyco · 01/07/2004 13:48

thank you for all messages - they help.

Am taking every thing very s l o w l y. To see consultant next Friday when expect she will say to have c section followed by immediate hysterectomy which should mean an end to everything and no chemo etc. hopefully. Still feel v guilty that baby will be coming sooner than expected! xx

huppa · 01/07/2004 14:26

Allyco - so sorry to hear this. You must be in a state of shock. I think as others have said that having as much imformation as possible is important. Maybe you could consider starting a new thread as there may be other munsnetters who have had or know someone who has had a similar experience and can offer some advice. Hope you have lots of family and friends around to support you.

eyelash · 01/07/2004 15:01

Allyco - I am so sorry to hear your awful news. Again no experience but my thoughts are with you.

Hi to everyone else too - hope you are all having a good weekend!

piglit · 03/07/2004 12:05

Allyco - thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs. You'll always get support here. Please keep us informed.

florenceuk · 03/07/2004 12:08

Allyco, sorry to hear this, it sounds extremely stressful. I'm sure your DB will be fine - please don't feel guilty. Hope you have lots of support around you, but you can always post here.

beansprout · 03/07/2004 13:42

I haaaaven't sleeeppt agaaaaaaaiiinnn!!!

Boo and pants.

miffy2 · 03/07/2004 14:57

bean, love your travel system choice, I actually splurged on a similar one in the January sales. Have used buggy with DS and it is fantastic, really easy on the back and flies along. Car seat was bought in hope as had not yet conceived (!).
Sorry to hear you are not sleeping, I actually got a good night's sleep - well, 11 till 5 non-stop so that is good in my books. Have you tried a drop of lavender oil on your pillow?

Turtle35 · 03/07/2004 18:51

Bean what are we going to do with you? Have you tried a hot bath along with a warm glass of milk prior to bed time?

Bibiboo · 03/07/2004 19:04

I think we all ring Bean up tonight and sing her a lullaby
