I think Jesse is a dangerous choice for a boy - can just hear the playground taunts now ...

Luke Alexander is lovely; sorry, don't like Stephanie at all.

Nemo1977 · 30/08/2006 10:57

lol mrsbadger..surname is only 4letters which is why I dont mind 2 long first names.

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 30/08/2006 10:59

just checking! could see her having trouble fitting her name in the space on forms...

foxtrot · 30/08/2006 12:11

I really like Stephanie, just wondering if you were familiar with TV show Lazytown (on Cbeeebies & Nick Jr) as the pink-haired girl on that is called Stephanie - my DD 2.8yrs is in love with her!

SoupDragon · 30/08/2006 12:18

Luke Alexander flows nicely. Stephanie Alexandra is good too - too many eee sounds in Stephanie Jessie IMO

SoupDragon · 30/08/2006 12:20

MrsBadger, BabyDragon has about 27 letters in her full name and that fits on forms Ok

StinkyPete · 30/08/2006 12:21

echoing foxtrot re lazytown.
would you shorten stephenie to anything?

MrsBadger · 30/08/2006 12:23

big name for a little dragon

Nemo1977 · 01/09/2006 13:24

dd was going to be Stephanie, but decided against it because at the time didn't like Steph, but I don't mind the shortend version now - so yes I like it very much.

Also agree with the others Luke Alexander and Stephanie Alexandra - lovely sound very smart indeed, I like 'posh' names

sleepfinder · 01/09/2006 13:30

I agree with Whizz.

Luke Alexander
Stephanie Alexandra

Love the name Jesse but just too playground problematic. It was on my original list but DH vetoed at the start.

Piffle · 01/09/2006 13:30

I was put off Stephanie when my best friend at school got called
Stiff Fanny
So for that reason I'm put off it but she was a tremendous lovely girl.
Luke is VERY popular at the mo as well, there are 5 Lukes in dd's playgroup.
Alexander is nice
I do like Jesse for a boy as I knew a really great lad called Jesse, but in the UK they use Jessie as a taunt (I'm from NZ)
It's tough huh
Dp and I are going to fall out big style if this next baby is a girl
Boy we agree on, there is only one name, but girls oh we are so far apart, and I named DD when he was out, so told him (rashly) that he could name the next one...

hunkermunker · 01/09/2006 13:33

Don't like Stephanie or Jesse/ie at all.

Arf at Stiff Fanny.

Do like Luke Alexander though.

pmsl piffle am right off stephanie now..will tell that to dh..lol

He is now suggesting Rebecca but we have an R surname so am not sure. Also finding it hard to pick names to go with Adam and Hannah so if anyone has a definitive list most appreciated..lol

OP posts:
petrified · 01/09/2006 13:51

We have chosen Adam and Rebecca!
Also like Hannah but can't have it as its to close to the surname.

Really wanted Alexander as well but there are too many family/friends called Alex.

golds · 01/09/2006 14:14

friend of mine has a Hannah and Harriet, I think that sounds nice

Discomonkfish · 01/09/2006 14:26

I like Adam, Hannah and Harriet....what about Elizabeth Grace......or Meredith....?

Luke (one syllable) needs a longer (2 or 3 syllable) middle name .. so Alexander

Stephanie Jessie rhymes .. which is annoying .. so Stephanie Alexandra

aprilmeadow · 01/09/2006 15:06

Luke Alexander

Stephanie Alexandra

hulababy · 01/09/2006 15:08

Of your choices in OP, I prefer

Boy: Luke Alexander
Girl: Stephanie Alexandra
