Hello, I need to find a semi formal dress for a wedding in 1 month, I will be 26 weeks pregnant.

I have ordered and rejected this the pattern was too busy and the dress was too long, completely swamped me.

I am 5'4, and around a size 16/18.

I wear a 16 in new look maternity, if anyone can compare their sizes to other maternity clothes? Judging by measurements, I won't fit into jojomamanbebe :( (my boobs are now vast), and I'm not sure about asos.

I also tried [[http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Maternity/ASOS-Maternity-Exclusive-Wrap-Lace-and-Chiffon-Midi-Dress/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3734590&cid=5813&Rf900=1465&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=204&sort=3&clr=Winethis one]] and had the same issue with it just looking like it was too much fabric. I think the 18 fit ok, was slightly big.

I would like to avoid baby blue as that is the colour of the bridesmaids. I tend to suit strong colours, and am flexible on accessories and hair. Small patterns and single colours aren't great for me :( and I can't wear maxi dresses for the whole swamping thing. Sleeveless is fine, though I can't do strapless or spaghetti straps.

Budget around £40

Please help! Tia.

I'm just a bit worried that if I'm normally a 16 maternity, that a 16 or 18 in normal cut won't fit..

I know you said no maxi dresses but I'm a similar height/shape as you and I wore this to a wedding last weekend -m.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_054010297663_-1

Well I received the red and black asos dress today and it's totally wrong - too informal, too dark, and just doesn't look great. Back to the drawing board

Have you tried www.blossomingbump.com/maternity-dresses/

Have you looked at separate skirts and tops? So you could go underbump skirt to show off your smaller bottom half and a top which accommodates your bust?

I am a 18 top/20 bottom non maternity. JoJoMaman dresses and tops have been absolutely fine on me not snug or tight fitting at all.

Next has some nice dresses which I have got for work would be easy to smarten up enough for a wedding.

I also have to supervise a school prom at 7 months and bought a dress from ebay which I am going to use again for a wedding later in the year when I will be 8 months.

ASOS has also come up a reasonable size for me - have bought some dresses which are an 18 and fit perfectly.

Can I ask how tall you are please noodle?

Debenhams have some nice midi and maxi dresses which are lovely. They have a bit of stretch in them and are gathered under the bust which means there's plenty of room in them.

New look also have some nice jersey maxi dresses which are in the maternity bit in our local store. They're casual but with a statement necklace and maybe a fascinator or sparkly clip would look lovely for a wedding. I had a similar style one for my nieces christening a couple of years ago.

I'd look for a plain maxi or midi dress and add a statement necklace and hair clip/fascinator to dress it up.
