A while ago I posted about my fears about the anomaly scan. Well, the scan is this Thursday and I don't feel much better about it. Any tips on dealing with serious worries?? I have no reason to be worried but I know there is about a 2% chance of a baby having serious problems (or something like that) and just keep thinking it'll be me. Just want the scan to be over!

Its highly unlikely that they will find something wrong tomorrow and if they do then theres a good chance that it can be treated. Your baby has got to 20 weeks which is awesome and although in 3 weeks time Im sure I will be as worried as you I want you to stop stressing! Think of tomorrow as another chance to see your beautiful baby.

Thank you :-) Am trying to be calm and positive.

Hi guys. Well, the scan went well - everything is fine and we're having a... boy! Absolutely thrilled and shed a few tears. He was breach throughout though and refused to budge, so some parts of the scan were tricky, ha ha!

GingerRodgers · 10/04/2014 19:46

Oh yay! Massive congrats on a healthy baby and a boy eh? Lovely. Glad you're ok.

VJONES1985 · 10/04/2014 19:56

His legs were crossed at first and then he held them wide open right in front of the scanner thingy.

Awesome! Congrats VJONES!

Writerwannabe83 · 10/04/2014 20:51

That's brilliant vjones - I was wondering how things were going with you. You probably won't remember me but I remember you from The Buses and I remember you getting your BFP. I'm so glad your scan went well and congratulations on it being a boy!! Smile

VJONES1985 · 10/04/2014 20:53

Of course I remember you, writer! How are things with you?

Things are going well, baby is now 3 weeks old and I'm totally in love with him. People told me that when he was born I would have the most intense feelings for him....but that doesn't come close to how I feel when I look at him. It's just complete, overwhelming, makes-me-cry love Smile

We had a bit of a rough start with breast feeding and currently going through a bad patch with colic but I guess that's par for the course. Me and DH are absolutely knackered....getting about 3 hours sleep a night (which is always broken sleep) but we are battling through. Every time my little man looks at me it's just impossible to feel resentful Smile

Being a new mom has been physically and emotionally draining at times (numerous tearful moments) but it is 100% totally worth it Smile

VJONES1985 · 10/04/2014 21:03

Aww, how lovely. Makes me look forward to it even more! I've got 17 weeks to go.

It will fly by no doubt! I got my section at 38+6 in the end despite it being booked for 40 weeks initially. I was just huge and my Consultant didn't want to risk me going into natural labour. He came out weighing 8lb 8oz so although not huge it was a big baby for my little frame. Even though he was born by section they still had to use forceps to get him out because of how tightly wedged he was in me Smile

VJONES1985 · 10/04/2014 21:21

Oh dear!! I'm going to be induced at 38 weeks too, because of my T1 diabetes.

Haha bless ya :) glad everythings ok just as we all said :) were having a lil boy to...first he was upside down, then he stuk his winky right in the air and for the rest of the scan kept on flashing his arse at us :p took the lady ages as he wouldnt get in the right position esoecially for the piks haha :) they are so mischevious already ;) have you decided on any names? X

VJONES1985 · 11/04/2014 07:16

A few name ideas but nothing solid yet. Apart from this lovely pic, there were no clear ones -

Aww wow. Beautiful pic and congratulations!

My scan is next Wednesday Grin

VJONES1985 · 11/04/2014 08:16

And because I was so shocked that it's a boy, the sonographer also gave us a picture of his willy! Ha ha!

Good luck isitme and also mmolly.

OP posts:
VJONES1985 · 11/04/2014 08:16

The baby's willy, not the sonographer's...
