How early have you guys made your pregnancy public knowledge. I know tradition says wait til 12 weeks but a) I'm not very traditional and b) I don't think I can wait that long!

Did you announce early or late? And was it a good choice?

I have to admit, I'm a bit Hmm at the idea that somehow being from a British background makes it hard for someone to share their emotions, Holiday…

I think only sharing the info with people you'd be comfortable also talking to about MC or a decision to terminate is a good benchmark. Personally, my losses weren't physically tough, but coupled with pregnancy hormones and the grief of loss, I found un-telling my friends and family awful/tearful, so I chose to wait until after the 12-week scan after that. It's certainly not one of my 'favourite stories' to tell…

We have an early reassurance scan booked for 7 weeks, which is the day before the MILs birthday meal. If all goes well we will let them know them, and probably my parents on the way home from it!

I've told my sister as she won't be around (uni finals), my best friend (as we're both expecting end of Nov/start of Dec), and a couple of people i trust but don't usually see who have been through it all before. And maybe a few shop assistants so my brain didn't explode! Oh we've also both told our bosses, and husband ended up telling not only his boss, but his bosses boss (who I used to work for 3 years ago!)

it's not a tradition to wait til 12 weeks. Its just more common as people want to be sure that everything is well with baby.
After 12 weeks, the chance of miscarriage is much lower. People like to wait until they are out of 'the danger zone'

We waited for the most part. we told out parents and very close friends first. then after our scan we told everyone else once we were content that everything was going smoothly
