how pregnant are you? it sounds like this could be it. Is it still painful when you are resting?

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 23:31

if the pain is so severe you feel like crying then its time to call him. if its just like period pains then i would wait a little longer.

It may be labour but if your sane enough to type then i would say its very early stages hun.
If you are really worried then phone him, otherwise you will panicing about him not making it in time and it will stress you out even more.

how far gone are you?

myturn · 16/08/2006 23:31

Braxton's are not constant, so doesn't sound like that. Oooh exciting. Yep, how many weeks?

PinkTulips · 16/08/2006 23:32

go in to the hospital! you posted earlier that the pains were 7 mins apart and now they're constant... go in!

fattiemumma · 16/08/2006 23:32

oooh just seen your overdue.

go sit in a warm bath...as hot as youc an take it as this will not only ease the contractions but help them along at the same time.

ledodgyrobespierre · 16/08/2006 23:33

I wouldn't advise the bath unless you can take a phone with you in case you can't get out agin.

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 23:33

are contrations constant??? the way ive always thought is that they would come and go??????? yeah i can still type its just uncomfy it feels like the baby is going totally beserk inside me, im getting deep feelings pushing right down!

OP posts:
ledodgyrobespierre · 16/08/2006 23:33

If you're on your own that is.

ledodgyrobespierre · 16/08/2006 23:34

Do you mean the feelings are pushing or you feel the only way to relive the feelings is to push?

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 23:37

no i dont feel the need to push but im getting a baring down feeling, yeah they were about 7 mins apart before about 3 hours ago, its here all the time now and my tummy is rock solid, does it sound like it? just warned dp that tonight could be it, and i'll call him if i think he should head home! should i have a sleep?

Just spotted this thread before I go to bed. Have had far too much wine so don't want to offer too much wine under the influence and all that. I shall just do lots of deep breathing for you instead.
Four days late? Sounds like it could be the start of things to come. All the best for the delivery of your first baby. Such a special time.
Have you phoned dp just to warn him?

Beetle73 · 16/08/2006 23:38

Hooray AG1. Have fun!

misdee · 16/08/2006 23:38

FGS, call him now!!!

hunkermunker · 16/08/2006 23:38

Phone the labour ward. Then ring DH.

How exciting!

ledodgyrobespierre · 16/08/2006 23:38

Can you cope with the pains, tbh if you feel you can sleep you are probably in early labour, i'd sleep if you can if not or if they get to a point where you feel you need pain relief go to the hospital. First labours can be very long and the early stages can last ages.

myturn · 16/08/2006 23:39

Don't have a sleep yet. Phone the hospital/midwife first. How exciting!

Sparkler1 · 16/08/2006 23:39

wine???? meant advice. oops I'd better stay off here. Good luck!!

fattiemumma · 16/08/2006 23:42

Phone him back and tell him to come home.

sounds as though things are moving along and you should probably call the hospital.
If it is going to take him an hour to get home its probably best he leaves now.

Aww im really excited for you hun....bet yuor bricking it though lol.

try not to panic hun, your body knows exaclty what its doing and if you just let it do its things and not fight the pain or the feelings of pressure your getting it will be over and donew ith pretty swiftly.

if the feelings are very low try sitting on a dinning chair with your legs apart and your bump pushed forward....if that makes any sense.
It will open your pevis and give the baby a direct route to your cervix ..it helps the pain as the baby's head won't be knocking against your pelvis.

Tonights the night hun...i can feel it in me waters.
Good luck

mummyplonk · 16/08/2006 23:42

Oh good lick Aprilgirl1. I am a big believer that if a contraction or tightening takes your breath away, then it's pretty real. Unfortunately that is usually because of pain but dont worry later on your breath will be taken away in wonder. x x x

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 23:42

ledodgyrobespierre i think i can sleep , ringing hosp now, just would rather be here then in the hosp... im starting to freak out a bit dp is going to come home now i hope this is it feel stupid wasting everyones time phoning hosp ...2 mins

OP posts:
Sparkler1 · 16/08/2006 23:44

You are not wasting anyones time. The hospital are there for you - make the most of them. You are going to be a Mummy very soon. All the best sweetheart.

hunkermunker · 16/08/2006 23:45

Yes, what Sparkler said. Not wasting anyone's time. And it's really common to feel a bit "whoa, this can't be it, noooo" when you actually do go into labour - I denied it for two hours when I was in labour with DS1 10 days late - wtf did I think was happening?!

ledodgyrobespierre · 16/08/2006 23:46

What hm says is true I denied it with my ds who was born in Nov and nearly didn't make it to the hospital!

aprilgirl1 · 16/08/2006 23:48

ok they said that it sounds like early labour and to have a hot bath, she said i sounded quite 'composed' and that when i feel that i cant cope with it without pain relief to go in, and to try and have an hours sleep if i can! so think thats what i'd do... have a feeling i'll still be sitting here tomorrow with this bump of mine!!
