I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!prescribinginfosub

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

thank you everyone. punk I think the steroids are just because I'm having a cs at 38+4 so they want to boost the lungs.

Names wise, we haven't told anyone our first 2 names, but we have 4 names as we both have a special family name we want to use. I think it's a bit overkill but we love it. we asked mil what she thought of using her maiden name and she was nearly in tears, and the other name is my family's old name too.

Meerka · 04/04/2014 20:46

im going to kill the next person who says 'not long now' when im upchucking. I really am. Just have to get them to stand still long enough to get close.

elizabethsmum · 04/04/2014 20:49

That would soon silence them meerka Wink

mrsb87 · 04/04/2014 21:06

Just a quick question, can I take ondansetron and paracetamol together? ?

Meerka · 04/04/2014 21:10

Ondansetron is supposed to be fairly ok interactions-wise but I think you would be best off ringing your midwife or whatever has replaced NHS direct to check.

mrsb87 · 04/04/2014 21:18

Ok thanks meerka, dh is on the case x

Meerka · 04/04/2014 21:20

headache? :( not what you need atm!

mrsb87 · 04/04/2014 21:24

Headache, sore throat, sinus pain. All the signs of a well established head cold! Its bad enough all I can have is paracetamol, but if I can't have that then I can wave bye bye to any sleep!

Meerka · 04/04/2014 21:30

oh yuk, son has given both us a cold, it's miserable. any bug makes the nausea / vomming worse too I find :/

Hope you feel better soon

mrsb87 · 04/04/2014 21:45

Yep, the nausea and heart burn has been horrid today! Hope you feel better soon!

elizabethsmum · 04/04/2014 22:04

If not mrsb I would imagine aspirin would be ok as I was on low dose throughout my second preg due to previous pre eclampsia in first preg and this was alongside all other meds incl ondan

elizabethsmum · 04/04/2014 22:15

Ps- not what you need on top of hg ((((hugs))) trouble with preg it leaves your immune system low and so vulnerable to colds etc!

mrsnec · 05/04/2014 08:38

Morning all!

That's not good about the colds and sinus trouble I hope the asprin/paracetamol provides some relief.

I had a bit of a relapse yesterday and this morning and Dh is being a bit of a knob about it, id been staying out of the kitchen as cooking smells were a massive trigger for me but he made a comment that I was getting lazy, so I've been doing a bit more but sure enough yesterday I was carving some meat for him and he saw me dry heaving then running to the loo and then said ' I don't know why you do this to yourself you could have asked for my help' it's like I can't win.

Meerka · 05/04/2014 08:44

ouch mrsnec how annoying. Hope he realised that you were doing it cause he'd said something!

mrsb87 · 05/04/2014 09:20

Well I got a call back at10:30 last night from a nurse who reassured me that paracetamol and ondansetron are fine taken together! She was really nice about it too!
I have a terrible crick in my neck though from trying to elevate my head, to be able to breath, with my v-pillow. I have the job of trying to find a dress to wear for a wedding next week. None of my dresses fit anymore. Don't fancy shopping today though!

mrsnec what a daft bugger! I wouldn't have allowed that comment to go past without a bit of back chat from myself!

mrsnec · 05/04/2014 10:10

Mrsb that's great service from the nurse it's refreshing to hear such positive things. Hope the neck gets better, yes I'd knock the shopping on the head but have you looked online asos have some great stuff at the moment.

Yes my dh did get that I was trying otherwise he would have been an even bigger knob, id like a bit more support from him though I've not had one back rub yet while I've been chundering my guts up just once would be nice!

Meerka · 05/04/2014 10:13

oh glad ot hear it mrsb. feeling any better? sneezing is so uncomfy on the Bump ...

livingzuid · 05/04/2014 11:30

Why can partners be so dense sometimes? Poor you mrsnec I would have flat out refused to do anything. You are a bigger person than me!

mrsb try asda, tesco and asos for something nice and not too expensive. I had an asda delivery the other day with nice long maxi dresses which is all I can tolerate now (thank god for warm weather) and they were lovely. I just went a size up from my usual and they fit perfectly even over my now ridiculous sized chest.

meerka I guess it all still seems a long way away when you feel that rough :( ever day is a mountain climb.

chaffinch :) so pleased you are getting on so well. I saw the new 25 year magnums and just couldn't do it, not worth the risk!

Dh and I had a long talk last night after I went into hysterics over the birth plan and it all came out. He was fantastic and we had a really good discussion about how I had been feeling about all the comments from his mum. There are things he doesn't see or disagreed with me on but overall acknowledged that she had been out of order the last time we saw her and all the granddaughter comments he said he had noticed too but that when she says something ridiculous he just ignores it and why can't I! To which I got a bit cross and he backed down. He's going to 'deal with it' and I know he will sort it out soon.

We also agreed the two middle names we wanted and thought stuff it, if she wants to not use them then she doesn't when she is older, she can choose. The initials were OK as well so long as we stick to one order! The names are from both our maternal grandmothers and one is my own middle name as well - it is a tradition for the girls in my family to have it as a first or second name so I would have been sad to not continue that.

Oh and I have the start of SPD it seems. My pubic bone feels like just omg and I am getting really bad shooting pains around my pelvic area. Baby seems fine, kicking me all over the place but it doesn't help the nausea when you have to hobble everywhere. This morning I woke up at 7 and just had to get up I felt so sick. We took the dog for a morning walk and it helped loosen my pelvis up as well as reduce the sick. I walked slow though!

My latest food fad is chicken ramen kind of like wagamamas soupy noodles. It is easy to go down and stays down . I'm so expensive to keep at the moment all I can have is takeaway or some of the most expensive fruit ever. I wait to go to Edinburgh on Tuesday and go to wags and have the real thing Grin

LucindaE · 05/04/2014 11:34

mrsb87 I hope your neck is a bit better? A pillow shouldn't give you a pain in the neck, surely?
mrsnec And men say we are illogical? If you felt so bad, you shouldn't have to cook for him!
Meerka O h dear, does someone say that when you are actually being sick? Or bracingly, afterwards...?
Sorry people are suffering from colds and other miseries on top of this.
SliceofLime Waves.
elizabeth'smum Getting into normal clothes for that long with twins was impressive!
Chaffinch Thanks so much for coming on to encourage people.
Tallyra Well, I won't say, 'Not long now' Shock
livinzuid and Punkstar Bossy MIL Experts on Everything sound wearisome.
Apologies to anyone rudely ignored.

That sounds like a really positive talk Living hopefully things will improve now.

Meerka · 05/04/2014 12:17

Tallyra Well, I won't say, 'Not long now' I'm sorry. just people at the school playground who see me walking at the speed of a sleepy sloth on the ground and say 'not long now'... then a friend who saw me upchucking and said the same ... it was jsut too much and I could have garotted them with a string of babyclothes. I know it's not long, it's not long at all, but when you're in the middle of it it doesnt -help- after the 15th time.

living im so pleased your husband has your back here. Your MIL sounds well meaning but smothering and a bit 'owning'. Hope the SPD settles down.

mrsnec · 05/04/2014 15:11

Going on strike tonight and just having cereal for tea!

Great news living I agree with the others.

livingzuid · 05/04/2014 16:15

Thanks for letting me whinge ladies :)

mrsnec I did laugh at those Greek names with English surnames that you gave!

I have decided that pregnancy with hg is like Groundhog Day......

livingzuid · 05/04/2014 17:40

I also saw in my guilty pleasure read of Femail that Emily Blunt is in the same Vogue edition as Kim and Kanye with her eight month bump looking slim, healthy and sick free saying how pregnancy was the best thing ever. That alone makes me want to vomit.

livingzuid · 05/04/2014 17:41

and tally sorry I meant to say you have inspired me with the names :)
