I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!prescribinginfosub

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Booboostoo · 25/03/2014 20:55

ChaffinchOfDoom · 25/03/2014 21:20

immac, lottie splooted it on, no skill or talent required

Oklahoma · 25/03/2014 21:36

Finch you just made me laugh out loud. DH thinks I'm mad. We will miss you on here. Best of luck with it all.

MrsB glad you enjoyed it though. It must have been nice to get out of the house.

Lottie that sounds awesome. I've got my booking appointment with the midwife tomorrow. Not as exciting but it's all progress I guess.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Lottiedoubtie · 25/03/2014 22:09

Definite progress! Booking in is quite boring, no exciting scans or heartbeats, but it starts the process towards them!

I'm not convinced there's no skill in immac, take your praise finch Wink And enjoy the sweet relief from hg.

petitlapin1 · 25/03/2014 23:05

Yay doomfinch! So excited for you! Tea and toast and steak and runny eggs...

Another day, another couple of bags of iv fluids. Hey ho.
And another funny consultant appointment. Will write tomorrow when not as exhausted!

mrsnec · 26/03/2014 05:04

Good luck Chaffinch, you made me laugh at the immac!

Mrs b, glad work was ok

Great news Lottie and good luck oklahoma.

Sorry to hear that petit, hope you feel better soon.

Hope I haven't missed anything there.

I decided to go to work yesterday too. I work occasionally with my dh. Said I'd only help if there were frequent stops for snacks. So it was ok, so managed a full days work then came home and cooked dinner from scratch but I was sick as soon as I got in from work and again before I went to bed so same as the day before. It would be nice to break that pattern. Not taking the vitamins didn't help but maybe they're still working their way out of my system they are mainly fa but have vit d, iron, b12 and b6 added. Was nice being a bit more active though.

mrsb87 · 26/03/2014 07:48

12th September

mrsb87 · 26/03/2014 09:42

Ooh lottie, we're quite close, mine is the 29th September.
Flavour of the week is lilt! And haribo.

Lottiedoubtie · 26/03/2014 09:55

I like Haribo too, I blame being stuck at home being shamelessly drawn into the starmix advertising- the adverts are hilarious Blush

Booboostoo · 26/03/2014 10:13

I don't normally like Haribo but it's been a safe food for the last pregnancy and for this one - another weird one!

mrsb87 · 26/03/2014 10:15

I won't disagree with you there lottie, its either starmix or randoms for me! Nomnom.

mrsnec · 26/03/2014 12:09

Hi everyone, been to the hospital this morning, they wouldn't see me and told me the first available apt is the 11th April! I'm wondering if I'm going to feel things before I see or hear them at this rate, when is the earliest it's possible to feel something?

Also dh commented that he thinks I've started to show so im worried I'm going to have to tell people before I've had a scan. That'll teach me for moaning about not having a bump yet.

Did tell the hospital my symptoms just got told it was normal and they looked at my records and still don't think there's any urgency but did say theyd call if they get a cancelation fx they do!

Going to not eat after 4pm and if sickness carries on after that I might start with something over the counter in the next few days.

I am with you on the sweets thing, I'm not usually a fan but ate an entire packet of fruit mentos yesterday!

LucindaE · 26/03/2014 13:09

petitelapin Oh no, poor you, back in hospital for IV already -and your quite far along, this isn't fair. This is dismal. I hope you're feeling better for the fluid?
mrsnec They don't sound as if they're being exactly sensitive about it, really sorry.Still, a bump is reassuring in a way.
I hope nobody else has had to go to have IV...
Lottie It's good you feel this is the nicest thread!

So, Chaffinch's big day.

Meerka · 26/03/2014 15:04

anyone heard from finchy?

Managed to get a 240v electric shock yesterday so they kept me in Coronary Care for 24 hours Blush but all is well with both the baby and me =) except for feeling very silly.

Hope everyone is home and lapin is feeling a bit better soon ...

mrsb87 · 26/03/2014 15:08

Oooh meerka! That'll teach you for being so daft and doing all that diy! I think you need to slow down a bit. How are you feeling now?

Meerka · 26/03/2014 15:24

i think you're absolutely right ....

feel same as usual, bit sick heh. Did upchuck quite well in the hospital Blush (again) but other than that, fine.

I think they were actually rather curious, there isnt much in the med literature about preg women getting elec shocks apparently.

mrsb87 · 26/03/2014 15:26

There's probably a good reason why not meerka Wink

Aslong as you're ok now x

Meerka · 26/03/2014 16:06

Yeah :)

hows you?

Oklahoma · 26/03/2014 16:35

Aaaargh need to vent. Just went back to doc to get Ondansetron (the Meto isn't working for me) but despite it being written into my notes he wouldn't give it to me because it's unlicensed.

He also had the gall to say I just have to survive it. Clearly I have been very lucky with the people I have seen so far and he is just stuck in the dark ages.

So my options are wait 2 weeks for a consultants appointment or take 2 drugs that didn't work in combination. FFS!!!

Sorry. Rant over.

Meerka · 26/03/2014 16:37

NO drugs are licensed sighs

its on the bloody list of NICE drugs, okla. Its a known drug to give to HG women.

any chance of going back with an advocate and speaking to another doctor? :S
