Pregnancy

5 weeks & this pregnancy is already kicking my ass....:(

So it's 5+ weeks, which means that realistically I only conceived about 3+ weeks ago. But I am F@&%d!

It started with the worst head cold i've ever had, which flattened me for a week. Trying to shag throughout (cos we were still TTC or so we thought) was quite a challenge - I had actually whisper the alluring words "I'd better go on the bottom so I don't drip snot on you...."

During the same time my boobs were constantly agony. Oh yes, then the weeing started - every hour now, and getting up during the night too.

And I wasn't even positive yet! In fact I'd had a negative test!

Then last night I had a vomiting/diarrehea EXPLOSION. Went on all night, am very peaky today and can only take mouthfulls of the blandest food.

Also have horrendous lower back pain shooting through my pelvis. I wantt o go to sleep for a month. Did the washing up this morning and actually had to have a sit down afterwards!

How in the holy Hell can it be this bad when I only conceived 3 weeks ago??! My positive result was VERY positive so obvs my Hcg is quite high. But now I'm quite scared, tbh.

How can i cope with this? I have a horrendously hard job with 12 hr shifts but that isn't even my main worry. How am i going to cope with this level of horrendousness for the next two months? It seems like forever.

I honestly didn't expect my symptoms to be this strong (I kinda expected none as I'm such a sturdy mare who never gets sick), & I'm totally unprepared.

Have looooovely OH, but not being able to tell work/family is horrendous too. Had to tell my Dad today I'd had food poisoning as he was startled at my greyness/listlesness. How many times can I use that though?!

Oh I'm so overwhelmed. Tearful and wondering what the hell I've gotten myself into!

Annarose I am also 5 weeks and feeling VERY overwhelmed. Also have a flakey nose! I am already very bloated and get a pain like I'm being poked from the inside every now and then - when I google that I feel sick with worry :( So hard that this is a secret and our first baby!

Oh the bloat! I'm afraid to take off my hoodie in case people see my stomach and think I've really let myself go!

Haha me too Annarose. At this rate I won't be able to keep it a secret for 12w!

I honestly don't think I'll be able to. Not for another 7 wks. I see my Mum & Dad several times a week, and my Mum is especially eagle eyed.

But hey ho, if I have to tell them earlier I won't beat myself up about it. It shouldn't be so stressful I wear myself down trying to keep a secret. If I can get to 9 weeks before telling them I'll be thrilled.

First three months are AWFUL. It does get better. You just have to trudge through it.

Also means when baby is here it feels easy compared to pregnancy!

have come up with a 'kick pregnancy's ass' plan

We/I have also done this. I can't go out much in the evenings because I'm so shattered, but we're going to join a swank-arse gym for 3 months. It's got all lovely things in it, like yoga and an ace pool (for me), and the torture things in it (for him). Going to go every evening, just to feel like we're 'doing' something. Even if I only float in a pool.

Hi do you mind if I join in?

I'm 6 weeks +5 and am up and down. I worry when I feel ok and then feel sorry for myself when I feel rubbish. I have had a few nights eating a late meal then bringing it back up again! If I eat earlier I'm up at 3 am starving hungry! Is it normal to feel starving all the time? At this rate I'm going to be the size of a house in a few weeks! I also had my first bout of sickness this morning! Has anyone else experienced a sharp pain below their belly button? This is our first baby and we have been trying on and off for 2 years. Xx

Hi daheedsgirl sorry you're feeling rubbish. It's a shock isn't it?! Plenty of positive ladies on here saying it gets better and you just muddle through somehow. I'm nearly 9 weeks and the last two days i have felt semi human again... i even played football today!
