What are you missing this pregnancy?

I'll preface this by saying that I'm actually really happy to be pregnant (it took a while to get here) and I realise I'm very lucky to be in this position. However I am really missing some things this pregnancy and feel like having a bit of a whinge.

In order of things I am missing the most , right now I'd love

a) Wine. Red. Lots of it
b) A stupidly hot bath, the type that makes you feel a bit faint when you step out of it
c) To go for more than an hour without really needing a wee
d) The ability to read anything even vaguely upsetting without wanting to cry. I feel I'm going to have to spend the rest of the pregnancy in a cultural void.

Anyone else missing things and feel a bit grumpy today? I'm only just in the 2nd trimester so it's not as if I'm in the horribly uncomfortable stage either!

It might just be the pregnancy hormones that ha e kicked in! I'm sure we all go through this! With my first I felt selfish because everyone else seemed to be able to drink and do what they wanted when they wanted. But you have to remember pregnancy doesn't last forever and you'll have a gorj baby at the end of it who made it all worth while!
Hope you feel okay soon!
Xx

Thanks! This is DC2 so I know I should be looking forward to the long term, I'm just a bit grumpy as DC1 has been elbowing me in the boobs every time he wants a cuddle and has also passed on a cold to me, which I can't take any decent medication for.

Ah well, I shall go and have some Brew and Biscuit to cheer myself up!

Im missing pate, rare steak, diet coke in copious amounts, being able to shave easily, i also miss not being miserable!

ThedementedPenguin · 09/02/2014 14:12

I miss

  1. Being able to roll over in bed without the agonising pain between my legs.
  2. Being able to walk without pain.
  3. Shaving my legs.
  4. Sleep (can't get enough).
squizita · 09/02/2014 14:18

Blue cheese.

I'm in 1st trimester, and all about salty food.

Of course I could just get some stilton and melt it, NHS says that's fine. Which takes me to point 2: having any energy.

usmama · 09/02/2014 14:19

One word. COFFEE.

CumbrianExile · 09/02/2014 14:24

Runny fried eggs. Am not normally that big a fan of fried eggs. But since I discovered I am pregnant its all I have wanted!
Oh and wine. More so at the weekend when everyone is posting pictures on facebook of people getting drunk!

Inglori0us · 09/02/2014 14:27

Boozing. Sleeping. Coffee. Running. Skiing. My clothes. Really rare steak.

Squizita you can have Stilton.

Looking nice Sad
So fed up of my ruddy, farmers wife complexion and looking all round and 'motherly'. I'm like a kindly matron out of an Enid Blyton book.

I want my collarbones back

PervyMuskrat · 09/02/2014 14:47

And YY to energy. I am still in my PJs at nearly 3pm on a Sunday which hasn't happened in a very long time. I'm debating whether to bother getting dressed at all today Wink

Standing up from the sofa without it taking 5 minutes and a pre thought out game plan.
Wine.

squizita · 09/02/2014 15:04

Inglorious yeah... maybe I should rephrase it "stilton without fusspots who know I'm pg fussing". Grin Might get the NHS guidelines tattooed on my forehead.

Expectingtwins1975 · 09/02/2014 15:08

Skiing holiday with mates - watching the Winter Olympics making it worse.

bopoityboo3 · 09/02/2014 15:25

Being able to put my shoes on by myself.

fidgetywidget · 09/02/2014 17:09

grobagsforever · 09/02/2014 17:17

You can totally have runny fried eggs Cumbrianexile! NHS guidelines are way out of date on this one. Chickens in the UK are vaccinated against salmonella. In the million to one likelihood you did get it, the risk is that you'll feel very rubbish, the virus does not pass to baby. You can also have the odd glass of wine! And coffee, up to two cups a day is fine! Read the emily oster book 'expecting better' which refers to proper science not the out of date, women hating nhs guidelines. They fail to give us access to the science because our tiny pink brains cannot be trusted to make sensible decisions.

grobagsforever · 09/02/2014 17:18

Seriously, travelling by car is more risky than occasional wine, moderate caffeine or runny eggs!

PenguinsDontEatKale · 09/02/2014 17:23

Sleeping on my tummy.

Pate.

Being able to stand up quickly.

Wine by the half bottle not measly portion.

Energy.

My normal clothes.

God I am a grump.Grin

juju283 · 09/02/2014 17:27

Ahhh yeah sleeping on my stomach. I miss that solo much, or sleeping on my back which just gets uncomfortable after a couple of minutes.

Pregnantberry · 09/02/2014 17:31

grobags Interesting, I will look into that book.

Though right now, I am not missing any food in particular, rather I am missing being able to eat at all without being sick or extremely nauseous!

Also missing my energy.

squizita · 09/02/2014 17:40

TMI but I miss normal poo. Constipated or runny or gassy. Them's the choices.
