Hyperemesis Support

I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Champagne How lovely to hear from you - congratulations on baby girl - so nice of you to come back on to encourage those currently suffering - and I'm so glad this thread helped you when you were at your worst. Thanks
Starry Really sorry sickness is bad at the moment - I hope you feel a bit better as the day goes on. I think the Public Puking Performances are humiliating for everyone, but particularly bad for you. If a policeman asked about the bags, you could tell him in detail about why they are necessary Grin.
Meerka Hilarious about the Blue Bucket of Doom with the towel on top ( I hope it matched). Sounds good about the raspberries, but I don't think there are any available at this time of year here - or I haven't looked properly! Does that mean OH would say you should have saved some for him? So agree about the BH contractions hurting.
Punkstar [thanks} Thank you, I'm always in awe of the courage of so many of you on this thread.
Chaffinch Meerka and Mrsb87 Laughing?! What next - Hyperemesis is the original killjoy - it doesn't want you to have any fun at all for the whole nine months...
Mrsb87 Three dogs - that means some walking normally!
Waves to livingzuid I'm ashamed to say, I can't read my message to you...
PickofthePops How are things today? Are you feeling a bit better now?
Apologies to anyone rudely ignored/cross posted with.
xx

I mean that the good raspberries are so damn expensive that I really should not be buying them and husband will quite rightly point that out. It's half like being a naughty little girl and half like being an addict! I'll confess in a couple years time :)

Dear all thanks so much again or encouragement yesterday. Have been in on drip and drugs, mainly good apart from the devils own dose of cyclizine they tried. I felt a zillion times worse again instantly. Food staying down just banging head. My reward is a scan in 10 mins before my official one on 26/3 then think I can go home. Ketones were 4+ yday so did feel rough x
Best wishes to you ladies throwing up today and wishing others a sunny mix day talk soon thanks again x

Meerka · 14/03/2014 14:21

oh Im glad you were taken in and put on a drip, pick. 4+ ketones is not good.

I hope you feel better once you're home. take care.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 14/03/2014 15:58

they injected cyclizine into my leg. then admitted its one of the worst injectibles -crazily painful. it burrrrrrns

glad you're recovering a little pickpop

Tallyra · 14/03/2014 16:42

I refused cyclizine for ages because of a badly administrated one. It needs to be done REALLY slowly.

Report
mrsb87 · 14/03/2014 16:51

I refused cylizine too, had an awful reaction to it. It turns out my brother had a similar reaction after he had it after chemo.

Hello everyone, just been catching up, sorry that starrynight and pickofthepops and others have been having such a hard time, I've been thinking of all you ladies a lot. Chaffinch 12 DAYS!!!!!!! More than a bit excited on your behalf, roll on the end of puking. Oh and of course seeing your beautiful baby Grin

I've been doing pretty well touch wood, dealing with food a lot better. 19.5 weeks and I seem to remember improving around this sort of time last time round. Fresh air helps now that I'm slightly better (for those who were asking about going out) but when I was a my worst it was just a punishment and not helpful at all. Really hoping for no relapse now...

elizabethsmum Really sorry - that's awful - you must be shocked, hugs.
Champagnebubble Really sorry I missed your two visits - lovely message from you - see below.
Pickofthepops So agree with Meerka - with 4+ ketones you must have felt dreadful - so glad things have improved a bit.
Tallyra and Chaffinch and Everyone about burning cyclizine - sounds awful, just when you thought you'd be getting some relief.
Grrr I thought I'd found this Hyeremesis badge amongst my downloads and now I can't find it again, though it's not the lovely sparkly one they had on a US website that used to be on photobucket, though. I'll keep looking.
How is everyone on this spring like day?
Apologies - am sure to have cross posted...

SliceofLime I meant to say it's interesting about fresh air - as in sitting in garden. Someone on this thread swore by sea air, but for most people that means a longish journey...Also, really glad things are improving for you.
Waves to Meerka and Booboostu and others.

Thanks everyone. Friend was particularly supportive during my preg with the twins- it is very poignant to me that she was first diagnosed when I had just found out I was pg and she was in hospital same time as me at one point- I dragged myself across to her ward to visit her and we had matching drips! Sorry that you are feeling yuck again starry as champagne says if you can get through hg labour is a doddle- it is amazing how well you feel straight after!
I absolutely love the badge lucindae!
Waves at everyone and thanks again for your kind words xx

Elizabeth so sorry about your friend :(

Cleaned the flat last night then nearly vomited at bedtime. It has been a while since I came that close. Cue another sleepless night on the sofa as well. But it's a beautiful day today and determined to enjoy a walk.

Im sorry, I am not quite sure what MOH stands for -?

Meerka MOH (Margaret O'Hara) who used to call in on this thread set up the Pregnancy Sickness SOS website. Though I've got that and the Pregnancy Sickness Support link and phone number on the current blurb, so that's easy enough to copy over - thickhead Mother Hen can't find the proper NICE guidelines link online. Sorry about this - you don't happen to have the best link?
Booboosto I'll add that one the new thread - you'll get there, edging forward, though it seems an eternity...
