I've had brown discharge with minute pink discharge occasionally for the past five days, on and off, with a dull ache, crampy feeling....

Sonographer said there's a heartbeat (which I also witnessed on the screen). Seem like good news, but found it hard to get excited about this.

Is the outcome likely to be good? Or should I just expect the worst? Anyone out there been in the position of measuring small for their dates and it's turned out well in the end?

DH suspects that the embryo did not implant straight away to explain the lag in time. Not sure that I feel very convinced....

What a worrying time :(

I had one MC after my DD (3 before her birth) and in a way it was hard not to be able to just break down, but on the other hand i just gave her extra cuddles.

but this time i needed time off work (which i didn't before) so I could break down and wallow while she as at nursery

IrnBruTheNoo · 03/02/2014 10:51

You're very strong, both of you, I've been really grumpy and upset and it's not their fault. I cannot control it when I've been in pain. I feel like a monster. DH has done all he can when he's around.

I'm bleeding and crampy today, so it's really not looking very good. I hate this being in limbo. I just want a definite answer now.

The limbo bit is terrible...

Hope you get some closure soon - one way or the other

bakingtins · 03/02/2014 12:53

It's not your fault either - give yourself a break. It's hard to be supermum when it's all so stressful.

CrispyFB · 03/02/2014 13:55

This part is definitely the worst part. And yes, it is SO not your fault either. You're the one living it.

I am so sorry you're dealing with this.

Metalhead · 04/02/2014 09:47

Thinking of you today IrnBru. Will you still go to your appointment today? If you do I hope you get some answers.

Armadale · 04/02/2014 10:34

IrnBru, just wondering how you are today. Thinking of you Thanks

IrnBruTheNoo · 04/02/2014 19:08

Thanks everyone, it really means a lot having your support at a time like this. Some feedback now.... I went in to the antenatal clinic for my scheduled appointment but had to tell the midwife that I was bleeding before she started the 'booking' part of the appointment. She even had a scan date for next month :(

Anyhow, the midwife did not waste any time and quickly spoke to the sister of the unit who said I would have to go to gynae ward to be seen urgently, but there were no beds, so off to A&E I go with the midwife (she was so lovely, very compassionate at a time when you're freaking out). Staff at A&E go the ball rolling, bloods taken, and the gynaecologist came in and done an examination of the cervix (uncomfortable but had to be done). She told me the cervix is closed, apparently it is a good sign. But she did tell me that she could not guarantee anything, that the pregnancy may or may not end in miscarriage. She booked me in for an urgent scan tomorrow morning. Said that some women do bleed through their pregnancy and that it could be related to the positioning of the placenta.

So I'm still in a sort of limbo even though I've been given slightly more information than I had before. Hopefully will find out more tomorrow.

I'm so glad you have been booked in for a scan - it sounds like you received really good, thorough and caring treatment today. The best of luck for tomorrow Thanks

willitbe · 04/02/2014 19:22

Good to hear you will be getting a scan tomorrow.

Metalhead · 04/02/2014 19:32

Glad to hear the medical staff were nice to you and that you're getting a scan tomorrow. Hopefully that will give you the answers you need. Fx crossed for tomorrow!

IrnBruTheNoo · 04/02/2014 19:38

Thanks. Will let you know how the scan goes if it's to be or not to be this pregnancy...

Metalhead how have you been today?

Armadale · 04/02/2014 19:40

Oh I'm so pleased they are going to scan you, will be thinking of you tomorrow

TeaAndANatter · 04/02/2014 19:45

Following your thread, and crossing everything possible for you xxxxx

CrispyFB · 04/02/2014 20:26

Really hoping you get a great scan tomorrow.. but if you don't, I hope you get something conclusive. Limbo is truly horrible - if it's not going to work out, the sooner you know the better!

Fingers crossed for you and bless your midwife for being so lovely.. most are lovely but it sounds like she did that little bit extra for you. I'm so glad you're getting a scan tomorrow, so many places just give you the runaround for days on end.

Metalhead · 04/02/2014 22:35

I'm ok IrnBru thanks for asking. Still very anxious though. I keep thinking everything will be ok one minute and then the next I'm convinced it's going to be bad news next week! Been having quite a lot of mild cramping and feeling sicker again the last couple of days, so hoping that's a good sign and baby is having a growth spurt...

bakingtins · 04/02/2014 22:55

Glad you were well treated today and you are getting a scan. Hope the news is positive tomorrow.

Pixielady83 · 05/02/2014 03:06

All the best for your scan irn really hoping for a positive outcome for you Thanks

Demi123 · 05/02/2014 03:27

Hi , so basically I got my first smiley ovulation test 29th and second on the 30th 5 days later which would make me cycle day 14 I have had light painless bleeding only when I wipe I've had this for two days could this be implantation? Or am I ovulating late I don't normally get ovulation bleeding like this it's normally just a bit of red tinged mucus or spotting for under an hour and then nothing comes of it , I have a 28- 32 day cycle which I mainly have a 32 day cycle so is this implantation or isit to early to be ??

Armadale · 05/02/2014 07:33

IrnBru thinking of you today

Demi It might be a good idea for you to start a new thread to get answers to your question.

BobaFetaCheese · 05/02/2014 07:43

All the best for today IrnBru, hope you managed a restful night.

Demi, start your own thread in conceiving, there will be someone over there with answers. Or you could try fertilityfriend website, free membership and access to their forum for 3 months.

Demi123 · 05/02/2014 11:50

Thank you guys xx

Metalhead · 05/02/2014 15:13

Any news IrnBru? Thinking of you Thanks

IrnBruTheNoo · 06/02/2014 10:21

Sorry, yesterday was a hectic day. I got the scan and sadly it was not good news. There was no heartbeat (as I have suspected all along since last week). I've been bleeding worse and had clots so it's all over now. Hoping to get a repeat scan next week for full closure so I can move on with my life.

Wishing everyone else more happiness and success with their pregnancies for the future. I will not be going through it all again, and will stick with my two lovely DC.

I am not willing to put pressure on my family life again by getting pregnant and risking another MC. Time to move on with the next chapter of my life. Onwards and upwards!

Fingers crossed for you Metalhead, am sure yours will be a much more positive outcome than mine, especially as you're still feeling nauseous.
