Should I wake DH?

I'm 38+2 w no3. 1st two, my waters clearly went before contractions started, without any prior symptoms. With this baby, I've already had 2 false alarms (one when I thought my waters had gone, the other when I was having BH that I thought were turning into contractions).

I went to bed last night and woke w period pains about 11.30. Woke again about 1.30 and am awake again now. Pain kind of dull and regular, rather than contraction- like.

I feel like the boy who cried wolf so don't want to wake DH unless this is it. But if it is, we'll need PIL to come and look after DC. They're only 15 min drive away and have said it'll take 30 mins to get to us (inc getting up ).

I've had pretty quick labours before - less than 4.5 hrs from waters to baby w no2. Not sure if I should leave DH or not. If I do, he prob won't fall back to sleep though, and I'll feel like a chump if it's nothing.

yes I'd give pil a ring to tell them to have some dinner just in case.

good luck Smile

Good luck keeping everything crossed for you

MrsJK · 18/01/2014 20:16

Any update??

Apparentlychilled · 18/01/2014 20:36

Still at home. PIL on standby (they're about 15 min away). DC in bed. Bags in car. Contractions still about 5 min apart and about 45-70 seconds each. I called labour ward around 6pm, when they were quite painful (more painful than now,
possibly) and said I'd come in when they were really sore. Hospital is only about 20 mins away. MW was happy w that. Have eaten some dinner but feel quite sick and hot. Uncomforable rather than in real pain. Wish things would hurry up!

Oooh good luck! Hopefully news of baby chilled is not too far off!

oadcb · 18/01/2014 21:07

This is typical third labour according to my yoga teacher who was a midwife. On and off for weeks! Problem was it was only my second.

Good luck OP. I don't think it will be long

Apparentlychilled · 18/01/2014 21:38

Talk about a dull labour thread though- so little is happening!

LST · 18/01/2014 22:33

Good luck

Apparentlychilled · 18/01/2014 22:48

Sorry ladies- don't think it's going to be tonight. I had a bath about an hour or two ago and it's all gone quiet again. This baby is far too chilled for my liking!

Good luck when this LO does decide to put in an appearance

Apparentlychilled · 19/01/2014 09:44

Bryzoan- looks like this one is the same- we were at hospital at 4.30am, for yet another false alarm. Grr! Now I'm home dd has just thrown up. Thank god PIL stayed last night so I'm going to head back to bed for a bit.

Babychilled arrived at 4.29am today. My waters went very unequivocally at 11.30 last night. She's beautiful and the added bonus is that I'm not pregnant any more!
