Took 4 tests all came back positive! I am so happy, I have some symptoms such as sore breasts and nipples, sore back, cramping and tiredness during the day. I have no morning sickness though, is this normal at this stage? I am seeing midwife on 23rd of January x

Congratulations!!!

I didn't start feeling nauseous until I was about 8 weeks and then actual sickness didn't kick in until 10 weeks. Not everybody suffers with it anyway so don't use it as a baseline as to gauge how things are progressing. In fact I didn't really have any notice able symptoms until I hit the 8 week mark and then the tiredness crept in and the rest followed Smile

I bet the 23rd of January seems a lifetime away Smile

In the meantime just take care of yourself, take your vitamins and enjoy the excitement!!

LastOneDancing · 08/01/2014 12:20

I was never sick, just felt quite nauseous on and off from about wk7-12. Fingers crossed you might avoid it all together!

Congratulations!

tgamble13 · 08/01/2014 12:37

i didnt have any morning sickness thought felt nauseous if i didnt eat regularly. congrats and enjoy!

scaevola · 08/01/2014 12:46

Congratulations!

The due in September chat thread is here

You asked about morning sickness: some lucky people don't get it at all. For others, it can start at any point in the early weeks. It's not something to stress about either way.

Kellyy89 · 08/01/2014 18:20

Thanks all!! Was just wondering, I am sure it will hit me soon enough though! The 23rd does seem ages away! Wish I was seeing midwife sooner! I still don't believe I am pregnant though, will sink in when it's officially confirmed by doctor or midwife! xx

Be prepared OP - your pregnancy may not be independently confirmed for you until your 12 week scan!

Most doctors/MW don't test, they take your word for it. My first visit was just weight, bloods and medical history.

I turned up to the scan convinced I'd been making it all up Grin (I wasn't)

CrispyCrochet · 08/01/2014 22:21

Congrats OP! I too had a positive test at about 4 weeks & had no sicknesses until about 8/9 weeks that lasted until about 16 weeks. Mostly just nausea that was controlled by constant snacking! But fingers crossed you won't suffer. Best of luck!

Iwillorderthefood · 08/01/2014 22:23

I confirm nausea controlled by constant snacking, and keeping a little something by the bed at night just to tide me over.

sittingpretty25 · 09/01/2014 13:42

Hi! I'm also 4 weeks pg :) - I will be five weeks on saturday. It's so exciting but I do wish I could just fast forward to the 12 weeks scan already.

Iv only been getting really slight nausea - generally when I'm hungry so yeah, grazing helps I guess.

I'v had stomach cramps though, dizziness and really tired out oh and TMI but I'm really wet ... read this is totally normal although does have me knicker checking every five minutes! Also, oddly, I've got so much spit! lol - i keep chocking on it. My DH thinks thats hilarious!!

Roll on September :) x

Mummyinpink1289 · 09/01/2014 14:16

i think im 5 weeks on saturday too sittingpretty Smile havnt called the mid wife yet, think ill leave it a week or so as il have another 2 months to wait for my scan anyway so no rush - 3rd pregnancy, i seem way more chilled than my first about everything bar the labour part! ha.

Congrats anyway guys Smile

I feel totally normal bar a smidgen of lower back ache, tiny bit of nausea whenever i eat and my uterus just has this weird uncomfortable full feeling which is hard to explain. Im hoping it continues this easy! -ha, i think not!

MissSlackPants84 · 09/01/2014 14:29

Lastonedancing I was exactly the same. I was almost shocked to see a baby at my 12 week scan lol x

Mummyinpink1289 · 09/01/2014 16:32

yes i was too in my first pregnancy, i remember being so nervous in the waiting room thinking - am i actually pregnant or will they just not find a baby in there? so surreal.

broodylicious · 09/01/2014 21:59

Congrats OP!! I'm expecting our second in September too Grin, I'll be six weeks tomorrow. Isn't it exciting?!

I've hardly any symptoms this time around, bit nauseous occasionally but not much else. Worried myself silly because I was terribly sick with dd from pretty much the day after I conceived! I'm convinced I will be not pregnant when I get to the scan because of how different I feel Hmm But others have said that their pregnancies were all different and apparently symptoms are often not as bad second time around. Maybe that's something to do with having to have manned up with the whole pushing thing at the end of the first pregnancy Shock or being too busy with dc1 to worry about whether I feel sick or not? Wink

sittingpretty25 · 10/01/2014 11:01

I'm not thinking about what will happen in 9 months...I'm pretending it won't happen LOL!

Anyone else get a fair amount of cramping first time round? I'v not spotting or blood, but I feel 'full' - like i need the loo or my middle is suddenly really heavy... odd feeling to describe! It comes and goes...

givemeaclue · 10/01/2014 11:04

I was never sick even with twins

broodylicious · 10/01/2014 12:58

Really, givemeaclue? Wow! I'd have thought double the baby, double the symptoms, eek! Haha! I'm worried I could have twins this time round because there's two sets on both sides of our families :O

I don't want to wish symptoms here but at least I'd be able to think something must be going on in there if I'm being sick, iyswim?

Mummyinpink1289 · 10/01/2014 12:59

thats exactly how i feel sittingpretty25 - weird like you need to go to the loo for a u know what but u actually dont. its slightly annoying cos its making my jeans feel like theyr digging in to me at the front but no way am i coming out of my size 10s 4 weeks in! lol

Mummyinpink1289 · 10/01/2014 13:01

i was only ever actually sick a handful of times througout both my other pregnancies so i wouldnt worry broody Grin
I am so scared about finding out its twins...especially seeing as the medium i saw a year ago said i was DEFINATELY having twins one day and we have quite a few sets of twins in the family. Freaking out a lot! doesnt help that DH keeps saying 'what if its triplets?!' im like shut the hell up youre supposed to keep me calm!

DownstairsMixUp · 10/01/2014 13:02

Hi op congrats! I had a positive HPT on boxing day so am probably about 6 weeks now, I have felt a bit rough if I don't eat enough but i don't feel sick or never been sick either. I never was with my first ds either so some of us just get lucky!

munchkinmaster · 10/01/2014 13:02

Didn't see this - I just posted nearly the same question. What about tiredness. I'm 6 weeks and knackered. Is it pregnancy do you think or normal tiredness + excuse to oh back to bed?

sittingpretty25 · 10/01/2014 13:14

Mummyinpink - I came out of my size 10's over xmas - I ate way too much!! Even my knickers are starting to annoy - have to keep pulling them right down but think thats prob just because I can't stand things on my tummy at the moment. Poor DH - he wants a bit of love (after TTC they get used to it right??) I say no, he wants a quick boobie squeeze (they have gone up in size already!!) certainly not I say, a cuddle? ... Nope ... Poor guy settles for popping his feet on mine ... I feel like a mean cow!

When did you start showing with your first? I'm worrried it will be obvious really quick and we don't really want to tell everyone for as long as we can!

Mummyinpink1289 · 10/01/2014 13:39

i wouldnt worry about showing before 12 wks especially with ur first, around my 20 wk scan i still had that 'fat or pregnant' look which is the worst stage. ur hips may widen and ur belly may stay out more when u lie down but other than that nothing until past 12 wk mark - for me anyway.

lol at u sittingpretty that made me laugh - suprisingly my DH hasnt tried it on with me for the last 2 nights since he found out i was pregnant - which is totally unheard of as he normally wants sex most days, he did attempt very lightly thismorning but i said no and he never tried anymore!

Mummyinpink1289 · 10/01/2014 13:39

thinking about it - i actually was on holiday in a bikini at 9 wks pregnant and no sign of any pregnancy at all at that stage!
