hello ladies! I've been away (Finland) with no internet access at all and have been missing you all terribly and wondering how everyone is.

miss I'm so sorry and I'm thinking of you - hope you are getting lots of support.

All ok (ish) here - except i've been going mad thinking that its all gone wrong again ... I'm 18 -19 weeks now - had another reassurance scan at 17 weeks and all well but I just can't stay positive. At the last scan I was told that the placenta is on the front so this might delay feeling baby move - however I do sometimes think I can feel it - and then I doubt myself - may have to get a home doppler or try and get another scan - feel the EPAU have seriously seen enough of me, so I feel very silly if I call up ... i'm going to try and be brave!

Anyway I'm glad to be back and in touch with you all - I am seriously driving my family crazy!! So now I can drive you guys bonkers too!!!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 28/12/2013 18:09

Miss you should be taking it easy. you should be at home. x
Emki ive an anterior placenta too. It was another week or so before I felt anything definite. within another week or she was practicing for her Riverdance audition! Confused Hmm Grin

MissHobart · 28/12/2013 18:31

saggy - I know, but being at work forces me to stop crying! It gives OH a bit of space too. I've got days off tues/wed/thurs so going to see my friend then.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 28/12/2013 18:34

I know lovey. Sad
But letting it out is good too. Just take care and perhaps consider letting someone at work know?...
Take care. xx

ChristineDaae · 28/12/2013 19:15

Miss so sorry to hear your news.

Emki lovely to see you back.

Iv also been pram shopping this week. 36 weeks today so couldn't really put it off much longer. Got a baby carrier too which will come in handy! DP did make it over for Christmas, we've had a lovely time. Heading back home tomorrow!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas

fod27 · 28/12/2013 21:39

We bought a Doppler (for reassurance) it's been a blessing! I fell out of the shower a few weeks back and having it at hand was such a relief - highly recommend one ;)

kjh5 · 29/12/2013 05:00

Oh miss I'm so sorry to hear your news :( I hope you and DH are ok. Sending you lots of good wishes for the new year. I hope you are back here soon xxx

lucyfluff · 29/12/2013 09:59

Sorry to hear your news MissH Sad hope you are ok - and wish you luck for the future x

How is everyone else? Hope you had a lovely xmas!!

We had a busy time, didnt tell any family about the pregnancy - going to wait for the reassurance scan in a couple of weeks and then tell parents. Its kind of nice still having a little secret Smile

Quick question - I have had a few crampy pains on right hand side ( not like AF almost like waves of teeny contractions) NOT painful just a bit ouchy....is this normal?! Do you think this is just stretching?? Its only been since last night and no bleeding etc.

ChristineDaae · 29/12/2013 10:12

How far on are you Lucy? I had quite a few cramps in the early days, they were just everything stretching and shuffling into place

lucyfluff · 29/12/2013 10:13

Im 6+2 today Grin

kat I sympathise with your lack of kitchen! Four weeks later and we still don't have a finished, working bathroom. I've told DH he either has to get on it this week or pay someone to sort it out, either way I can't cope much longer with the dust, lukewarm bathwater and a non-working shower!

You are lucky with the hand-me-down prams :) My sister is getting an almost new iCandy one off a friend of hers. I still can't quite believe how expensive they are! Fod we eventually opted for a Cosatto Giggle 3-in-1. I know they're on the blacklist at the moment due to a manufacturing fault in some of the lines but the one we bought checked out ok, we really loved the design and the lightweight feel of it - I have a friend with one and she raves about it. So we bit the bullet and got one.

I feel a bit weird with it in the house (although we haven't opened the boxes it came in yet and probably won't until he is actually here). Am having vivid baby dreams almost every night now. I keep dreaming he arrives and I wake up with no memory of going into labour or the actual birth, and I'm surrounded by family who keep telling me how cute and lovely he is but no one will let me see him... every time I ask they keep telling me he is sleeping and I musn't disturb him - and then I get sent out to buy nappies because it turns out we don't have any.

fod27 · 29/12/2013 11:11

lucy I had those pains too in the first trimester and I know 28 weeks - hope that helps xxx

I've also been having freaky dreams - the latest was that I was being hunted by a murderer, I managed to save the kids but in the process my DD turned into a physco that bit people to death! I had to go on the run with her! Crazzzzzyyyyyy

Thankyou ladies Smile you all put my mind at ease its just normal stretching...its number 4 so maybe its worse this time...just cant remember these pains!!!

x

MeDoingMyThing · 29/12/2013 18:40

lucy - is so normal. I had loads with every pregnancy that's been successful.

I feel pretty stressed out. DS1 has been under the weather over Xmas, off his food, aches, pains and tiredness. Also bright red cheeks - but is fine now. Just seen some school mums and heard slapped cheek syndrome is doing the rounds at school which is not good news if I have been in contact with it. Feel like crying. Will need blood test ASAP to see if I have immunity. I am 16 weeks so in the at risk zone. Gutted. Can't cope with losing this baby. Feeling so stressed out. I know it could all well be fine but can't help but worry about the risk. Arghh! Anyone have any experience?

Emberlina76 · 29/12/2013 19:05

Hey all. Been AWOL for a bit as have been working loads and feeling a bit down tbh. How is everyone? I need to read back and catch up! Xx

WhatWillSantaBring · 29/12/2013 20:13

Hi all, merry Christmas!

No baby still- ok, so today I'm not technically overdue, but as dc1 was early, I have not mentally prepared for this. What the hell do I do for the next 2 weeks few days? Sweep on Thursday but till then, I don't expect anything to happen.

Yawn!

fod27 · 29/12/2013 20:17

me I went through something similar, I discovered my FIL had shingles but by then it was too late, if been up night after night hysterically crying after googling what could possibly happen to bean, then I was told to have a blood test (upon arrival I was told there was no one there to take my bloods and had to drive to another clinic) I sat in the car and cried.,,, after all that I was immune!

Emki · 29/12/2013 21:28

me it is more likely that you are already immune to slapped cheek (or parvovirus) and even if you are not there is a small percentage of the time that the virus will cross the placenta - just ensure you rest lots to build up your immune system.

saggy thank you - you have really put me at ease - I'm feeling little knocks but know that I won't feel anything definite till a couple more weeks have passed .... I must stay SANE!!!

Trying my hardest to not call the EPAU tomorrow - and saying to myself that what happened last year at my 20 wk scan is rare and I would be extremely unlikely for something to happen again - AND my scan a week and a half ago was fine!

santa thinking of you! My DD was 2 weeks late and it was a long wait.

ember nice to hear from you, why are you down? Hope you are resting xx

Emki · 29/12/2013 22:44

me I keep thinking about you this evening and just want to say that I know you must be scared, but most people are immune to slapped cheek as its such a common virus and most people have had it already. I really think that this is one of the viruses they should test for when you get your bloods done at 8 wks .... Ensure you rest and hope your mind is put at rest very soon.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/12/2013 22:58

Are you still out there MissHobart? How are you doing? Flowers

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/12/2013 22:59

Come on Santa picture a slowly opening flower or something! Wink

MeDoingMyThing · 29/12/2013 23:22

fod and emki thank you for your thoughts and advice. I know it's highly unlikely that the baby will come to any harm but I am utterly paranoid. Doesn't help that I have been unwell since DS unwell - sore throat, joint pain, headaches - have been on penicillin from Docs and now wondering if it's slapped cheek. I have had a bright red face but have been blaming it on central heating. Nightmare!

Just feel angry at no one in particular. I had hand, foot and mouth from preg with DS2 which was worrying but hadn't had a MC at that point so was much less stressy about illness.

Must sleep! Thank you for being so kind.

MeDoingMyThing · 29/12/2013 23:25

Santa I wish I had good induction advice for you but DS2 was 2 weeks late and I tried very many things, including acupuncture, massage, tea, sex, curry, sweeps, pineapple, you get the picture! I do have a friend who swears by reflexology. Is that worth a try? My first son was born on due date so I spent 2nd pregnancy assuming same would happen. Waiting about is enough to drive anyone a bit loopy when heavily pregnant!
