He was Due on16th, think that is 38weeks 2days. Head a bit mashed to work it out. So pleased he came early as he was 8 pounds still -still got torn mind. But was so heavy and physically struggling last few weeks. Was on ward 2 nights but was worth it as got a lot of help breast feeding - initially struggled to latch on. If you get a chance to stay on ward take it as might have failed fb had I gone home any earlier.

IBelieveInPink · 08/11/2013 09:11

GuffSmuggler · 08/11/2013 10:19

Yay bod fabulous news!!! Sounds like my labour with DS, you will recover and everytime you look you'll remember it was all worth it.

Just enjoy those newborns cuddles and don't worry about ANYTHING else, the house can be a pig sty, DH can sort out ready meals etc...

Thanks for all the well wishes. I finally stopped being sick last night so managed to get a good night's sleep and although I still feel washed out am hoping that's the end of it. Am very relieved as the last thing I wanted to do was go into hospital and be put on a drip.

kjh5 · 08/11/2013 11:01

YAAY Bod!!!! So happy we have another thread baby Grin congratulations to you on your little Superman - hope you recover quickly xxxx

Guff glad to hear you are feeling better - sounds like an awful experience, hugs xxx

Bodicea · 08/11/2013 11:23

Sorry was procrastinating whether to divulge name! It's James xxxxx he is having a little photoshoot right now - he is so cute. Finally been able to have proper cuddles with him today as first day have been able to sit upright. It's bliss.
Dh has been super star. He has done everything for him - I had just been feeding really - think has been good for their bonding x

GuffSmuggler · 08/11/2013 11:54

LOVE the name! I can't use it because my sister nicked it Envy

jmf294 · 08/11/2013 12:26

Congratulations Bod!!!
Enjoy newborn cuddles. Love his name too.

BumpKitty · 08/11/2013 12:36

Congratulations Bod! that is fantastic news and I love the name James. And he has a really cool birthday 31113. Sorry about the tear, make sure you do your pelvic floor and ask to see a physio early if you need to (from someone who didn't). I can't believe he was 8lbs at 38 weeks Shock

Swangirl · 08/11/2013 13:29

ThanksCongratulations Bodicea! that's lovely news. James is a lovely name.Enjoy your newborn cuddles. I hope your fanjo heals up soon Thanks

livingzuid · 08/11/2013 13:38

Bod congratulations and what a lovely name! Enjoy many cuddles and kisses with him.

Thank you to everyone who gave good advice sorry if I missed you my phone is being awkward and not letting me look properly at the thread. 14 hours sleep and working from home today has really helped put things back in perspective. Although how I can be sick on my fave honey on toast then literally 5 minutes later woof down 2 mcds cheeseburgers and a huge diet coke and feel fine I have no idea, sigh. My theory is that it's all so processed with no nutrients there's no effort for my system to actually digest anything...

TeaAndANatter · 08/11/2013 14:54

Wow Bod - fabulous news, and many many congrats x

GardenWorm · 08/11/2013 15:32

BOD!!!!!!Whoop de flippin whoop! Sooooo many congratulations to the Bods on becoming a perfect little family. Bet you can't stop looking at your baby James can you? They are just so amazing that even exhausted you can still manage to gaze in awe at what you made Smile Hope the fanjuita heals ASAP xxx

Oh and for all soon to be first time bf's don't forget to drink lots of water or you will get dehydrated really quickly and have a killer headache (like I did -doh), think the advice is to drink whilst they are....

.....can't believe the massive Q jump by Bod, anyone's guess whose next. Eeeeek!

Pentagon · 08/11/2013 15:55

bod many, many congratulations!! I've actually been thinking of you the last couple of days and wondering if you've had your baby as you hadn't been online for a while. Amazing news! Great weight, especially for 38w (DD1 was 8lbs but at 41w 4d) and lovely name! I bet you can't stop staring at him Smile They're worth all the pain and discomfort, aren't they? I hope you have a quick and easy recovery!

ibip I had 2 sweeps with DD1 - one at 40w and one a week later (I think for second babies they don't give you one until 41w). The second one must have worked because I went into labour 48 hours later (or maybe it was a coincidence?) I didn't find the sweeps uncomfortable but my labour wasn't that straightforward and I can't help wondering if that was due to the sweeps - probably not though... lots of women have them followed by a short, uncomplicated labour!

LuckySocks13 · 08/11/2013 16:34

Whey hey :D big congratulations bod. Fab name too. My DS is a James :) xxx

Chocolateteabag · 08/11/2013 16:34

Brilliant news Bod Thanks Thanks Thanks
Lovely name too - hope you are recovering, second the (careful) pelvic floor exercises.

Have been making DS 's dinosaur nest today - lots of melted chocolate and candy melts everywhere. It is not worthy of any pnterest picture showung off! But as long as I can impress a 3 year old I don't care.

We have a Christmas craft evening in the village tonight which I need to go and help at - but my back is complaining at me being on feet all day

Lieslvontrapp · 08/11/2013 18:04

Congratulations bod! I was thinking we hadn't heard from you in a while. James is a lovely name and what a great weight! Hope you recover quickly. Enjoy your newborn. X
