Lovely to read good scan news peeps. Have we still not heard from Emki though :(
Sorry to hear your DD is unwell cbeebies. Such a worry. Hope she is on the road to recovery.
Pink / Janie - I found I needed around 3 nursing bras last time as they tend to get leaked on etc and you need enough to wash and wear. Depends how much you want to wash and how quickly they can be dried. Inso used the 2 tops together last time as didn't want to flash my flabby belly! Also got a few cheap feeding tips if a site in the Internet. Did your feeding class go ok the other day Janie?

Just want to say 37 weeks today! Full term!!! Who would have thought! Just want a smooth ride to the end now! Congrats on also being 37 weeks today Janie :)

Hmm who was it with thingy pains? Not very easy looking back on my phone. Are we going to have a thread baby in next few days?'!

ChristineDaae · 02/11/2013 09:12

Cbeeb so glad your DD is feeling better and congrats on the scan. Cosmic, glad yours went well but awful that the gp wouldn't refer you.
While we are on the subject of boobs, I have one of those 'would only mention on this thread' questions. One of my boobs is absolutely killing me...just the one. I'm used to achy boobs during pregnancy but this is really really sore. Any ideas why and how I can make it go away?

IBelieveInPink · 02/11/2013 09:35

Christine - I had that couple months ago. Perhaps around 28/30 weeks? I was googling all sorts- thinking mastitis etc. actually, as much as it hurt, it stopped within a couple days and I put it down to growth spurt!

IBelieveInPink · 02/11/2013 09:39

And as for stopping it, jm afraid it was just a couple days of pain! I think I tried alternating heat and cold, which may have helped a bit?

yay lucky!! happy full term!!! and yes the bf workshop was good, managed to ask some good questions and they drummed into us how to get latched on...but i guess only practice makes perfect! i so hope i can manage it.

shell sorry things don't seem to be happening...but maybe today's the day :)

and pink ya little minx having pains!! oooooh seems there could maybe be 2 thread babies soon?!?!? i am BEYOND excitement!!! ooooooh!!!

chocolate awesome tip on slicing to boobie holes in cheapo vests - i actually bought this maternity top for work in h&m and realised it had 2 boob slices under the flaps (never thought i'd write a sentence like that!) and thought the sliced out bits were genius! just had to hope i didn't get caught in a gust of wind and flash my bra!

kat good news on the reviews - glad you didn't tell me my one was rubbish!

Polka2 · 02/11/2013 10:34

Cbeebies so pleased that your DD is a bit better! We're due date buddies! Yey! Wink

Emki · 02/11/2013 11:41

Hello ladies! So sorry to not reply sooner! Yes all was great! 10wks +1 on Thursday - cried a lot, but I'm so happy - really going to try and wait till dating scan.... however have a feeling I might need to go in for one last one before I return to the room where I was scanned at 20 wks and all had gone wrong ...

I was also scanned on the tummy and the sonographer even gave me a picture of the little bean

baking so pleased for you! This is soo exciting!!! xxx

Thank you ladies for thinking of me and sorry again for the late reply - I wasn't at home on Friday - Hope you are all having good weekends xxx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 02/11/2013 11:43

Ah emki that's just brilliant news!!! Delighted for you xxxx

andthepiggotupandslowlywalkeda · 02/11/2013 11:53

Cbeebies, I'm sorry to hear about your little girl, but glad the scan at least was good. Hope DS is better soon.

Cosmic - hi! Sorry you had a scare there. That scan must have been such a relief.

Pixielady83 · 02/11/2013 12:07

hi ladies, totally out of touch (got family visiting so busy busy) but just wanted to say hooray emki so pleased for you Smile

shell and pink although frustrating every little helps so even random contractions will all be working towards the big event! I'm sure your cervixes are getting thinner and stretchier already fingers crossed for more thread babies soon!

cbeebies hope your DD feels better soon, sounds like you've had a rough week Sad

Feeding tops, I found button down shirts and vest tops best, stretchy spaghetti strap ones that pull down easily. I never managed the pull up top and pull back down thing, DD didn't like being in a tent and none of my tops seemed roomy enough to just drape back over nicely even though she was teeny. Wrap dresses and v tops can also be good. would recommend getting some big cardies to layer over these things though, DD was born in the coldest November for years and normally I would have been wearing about 4 layers with no flesh on show, having easy access bf clothes made me v chilly and I've recently read this can hinder bf so that might have explained some of my problems! this time I will be whacking heating up as high as possible and to hell with the gas bill! or hoping for a very early and warm spring Grin

Pixielady83 · 02/11/2013 12:10

ooh saggy that support sounds amazing btw, could you post a link? I'm wearing my physio one for walking but it doesn't feel like it does a great deal, I'm having to limit walking and driving as much as poss already to avoid hip and pelvic pain Sad

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/11/2013 12:17

Here Pixie http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0084C9GJ2/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1383394485&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX110_SY165 belt
Emki dont do that to us!!! Confused
My general happiness has been marred by horrible nightmares all night! Sad I dont feel like I've slept at all!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/11/2013 12:18

oh poo! links wont work on the mobile site! its the nexcare maternity support belt. Its cheaper on Amazon.

Pixielady83 · 02/11/2013 13:14

thanks saggy- I'll look it up Smile

kjh5 · 02/11/2013 13:21

Hi ladies - just wanted to tap into the collective wisdom of MN regarding a bit of a fainting incident. Went out with DH this morning to the shops and ended up feeling really awful, felt like I was going to throw up - thought it was probably just the morning sickness having a moment but got really breathless and very faint (ended up sat on the car park floor trying not to throw up/faint). Admittedly I didn't eat a helluva lot for breakfast (half a muffin) but have since had a coke and a packet if mini cheddars and I'm not feeling too much better. I was feeling really nauseous/breathless all of yesterday but thought I was just having a bad day and spent the day in my pyjamas on the sofa. I'm 15+6, any ideas if this sounds like normal pregnancy nonsense or should I take myself off to see someone? Any advice appreciated!

On a less self-obsessed note: Yay! Emki so happy scan went well. Also EXCEEDINGLY excited that some more thread babies seem imminent Grin

GuffSmuggler · 02/11/2013 13:35

Hi kjh same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, they sent me to the GP's nurse to check my blood pressure which was fine. They also checked my previous blood tests to see if it could be iron but said my iron levels were fine and to just keep an eye on things if it happened again to call back.

I've felt fine since, I think it's quite normal to feel faint in pregnancy but is worth going to practice nurse to get your blood pressure done and get them to check your previous blood tests.

Fantastic news emki so pleased for you Grin

GardenWorm · 02/11/2013 14:03

Flippin eck Emki!!!!! Fab news! You had us all on tenterhooks Grin

kjh I'd say it's down to the half muffin! Get some carbs in you if you can, coke is just a quick sugar rush followed by crash again so won't assist for long, maybe a banana or pasta, porridge? Appreciate you probably can't stomach much at the mo but they will prob make you feel better Smile

Meh to nightmares Saggy, hope you have a decent nights kip tonight x

First time breast feeders can I suggest that you start off by doing it in private until you are used to it and then you'll whap em out anywhere I just found that I really didn't need the added pressure/awkwardness of trying to sort out the tops/boobs in front of people (plus it gave me the perfect excuse to bugger off to somewhere quiet and get away from the in laws!)

Bakingtins · 02/11/2013 14:12

emki so pleased your scan was all good.

kjh I fainted on Monday, think it's a combination of low blood pressure and low blood sugar. Mine was before breakfast, I've been endeavouring to eat more frequently the rest of the week but have been quite wobbly in the mornings. Think baby is using up all my glycogen overnight!

shellsocks · 02/11/2013 14:16

pink hope things are starting for you (if that's what you want!) I find the start stopping so frustrating Confused Just tightenings with no pains for me today?!

cbeebies glad your DD is better and you are feeling more positive, what a difference a day makes Smile

Great news emki you had us all worried for a moment Smile

Ditto with the nightmares saggy been waking every hour or so, and for good around 6ish for the past three days with nightmares each time Hmm At least they haven't been baby/birth related for me, hope so for you too Smile

kjh I had low blood pressure with DS and fainted a lot...google vasovagal (sp?) does is sounds like this? Was v scary first time but the advice to lie down as soon as you feel it coming on (no matter where you are!) is good, you need to get your head level with the rest of your body asap Smile

I second garden's BF advice...in fact I ended up doing a lot of feeding in private around my PILs as they used to come and stand over me looking at DS, forgetting that my boob was there too AngryConfused

LuckySocks13 · 02/11/2013 15:31

Kj - does sound normal and I had it quite a lot but I would suggest getting checked just in case and make sure you are having a proper breakfast with carbs and protein. Carry some snacks in your bag and keep some by your bed to.

Emki- so glad to hear good scan news :) :) :)

Thanks for the breast feeding tips Pixie. I'm a second time breast feeder but always struggled last time round and was never really confident feeding in public as DS never latched well and constantly came off the breast. I ordered that book someone suggested a few weeks back. The Food Of Love. Hoping that will be of some help this time round.

Pentagon · 02/11/2013 15:34

emki so glad the scan went well! You had us all worried!

lucky yay for 37 weeks!

So shell, ibip you may be next - unless bump or bod beats you to it! (bump is next based on due dates, no?) Come on thread babies!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 02/11/2013 15:40

Thankfully not Shell. In mine my relatives were chasing me round telling me I was wrong and selfish to have the baby. Confused Sounds daft but given that I've been on a real high recently it was horrible!Sad

Birth anxiety is quite normal though. Is this your first?

MissMedusa · 02/11/2013 15:42

Great news on the scans ladies, we've been having quite a run of luck lately! Hope it continues as I have my 12 weeks scan and NT on Tuesday. Very nervous!

LuckySocks13 · 02/11/2013 15:45

Miss medusa- totally normal to be anxious. Sending lots of positive vibes your way.

How are you doing Pentagon?
