Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CbeebiesIsMyLife · 01/11/2013 14:41

hi ladies, sorry I havent got long I'm just popping on to say every thing i fine with baby. I am however just about to do our 2nd ambulance journey with dd2 in less than 24 hours. She really not well. sorry to post and run but I really have to go, just wanted to let you know baby is fine.

GardenWorm · 01/11/2013 14:50

Oh Cbeebs that's great and not great to hear. Hope DD2 gets better as soon as she possibly can, what is wrong with her if you don't mind my asking? Must be a weight off your mind to know baby is ok and you can focus on DD2. Big hugs x

Pentagon · 01/11/2013 16:07

cosmic welcome and yay for the good scan!

cbeebies glad to hear all's well with the baby but sorry your DD2 is unwell. 2 ambulance trips in 24 hrs sounds pretty scary, I hope she's being looked after at the hospital as we speak and you're not out of your mind with worry. x

Penguinita · 01/11/2013 17:01

Great news on the scans cosmic and cbeebies, hope it is nothing serious with dd.

Lieslvontrapp · 01/11/2013 17:31

Great scan news yesterday baking! Hoping no news is good news from emki.

Welcome cosmic and good scan news but shame you couldnt get a epu referral.

Great scan news cbeebies but sorry to hear dd2 is not well. Hope she's ok.

Hope everyone else is well and looking forward to lots of thread babies this month!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 01/11/2013 20:43

Evening all. Sorry, dd2 is doing ok now. were back home at least but will possibly end up calling out another ambulance. She had a febrile convulsion and is struggling to control her temperature. She's stable at 38.5 and we have been sent home so she can get a decent nights sleep, but we've been told to go straight back in via ambulance if she gets into that state again. :(

Bakingtins · 01/11/2013 20:52

What a day cbeebies ! Glad to hear baby was fine at the scan and that you are home with DD. Hope her temperature stays down now.

jmf294 · 01/11/2013 21:29

Sorry to hear your daughter is poorly CBeebies, febrile convulsions must be terrifying. Hope she is more settled overnight. Great scan news though.

Good scan news Cosmic.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, I'm off to London to see a show with the children and then have lots of work for work and uni to do.
Bloody stupid idea of mine to start a new course on mat leave- I much prefer lying on the sofa to studying!!

shellsocks · 01/11/2013 22:14

That's great news cosmic hope you have had a relaxing afternoon Smile

Glad to hear your scan news cbeebies Smile but sorry to hear abt your DD, those convulsions must be so scary Hmm hope she is doing well tonight x

Soooo, had tightenings and mild period type pains all day, never progressed to contractions tho...am hoping this is the start of things, would love baby to come early Smile Tried bouncing on ball but it hurts too much with the PGP Hmm gonna have an early night and rest up in case it is the start, am scared a bit too now tbh! Will try and let you know if I do go in to labour Smile

shellsocks · 01/11/2013 22:18

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 01/11/2013 22:21

BumpKitty · 01/11/2013 22:42

God cbeebies what an eventful day, I hope your DD is sound asleep now and you can get some rest too, poor little beggar - you must have been terrified. But huge congratulations that your baby is all ok. What a roller coaster.

oooh shell i hope it kicks off for you soon :) I'm still happy to keep mine in for a bit so no probs if you want to go next Grin

I'm still faffing about with my bag janie i will get it done tomorrow!

Ace news bakingtins so pleased for you :)

welcome cosmic - you have come to the right place :) and congratulations on your scan.

IBelieveInPink · 01/11/2013 23:05

Great scan news going on so far and hi to newbies!

Shell- eeek! That's exciting! Please be the start of something I have everything crossed for you

Janie- where does one get a nursing bra? It hadn't occurred to me that I would need one!

GardenWorm · 01/11/2013 23:12

Ooh go Team Shell! Come on baby, out, out, out! I feel for you Shell your baby is teasing you Grin I hope things do get moving tonight for you X

Cbeebs I hope you have a quiet and restful few days, although I appreciate how difficult that is in reality with a poorly DC

I too need to pack a bag but that's a bit too much like reality. Am worried more this time for different reasons. We don't have family nearby, a couple of lovely people have said they will be there at the drop of a hat to take DD but can't help fear that I'm going to end up doing it on my own whilst DP is trying to keep DD sane in the hospital car park!

jmf I agree you are one crazy cat starting a course on maternity leave, you must be one of those people that I read about who have 48 hrs in the day as opposed to the paltry 8 hrs that I seem to have Wink Admiration all round.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 01/11/2013 23:22

Pink I'm going to go back to debenhams to get measured for one, (I got a good maternity bra there) although at the breastfeeding workshop I went to, the midwife said that day 3 after birth our boobies go a bit Dolly Parton. So I think I'll get one that has a bit of room for growth!

I'm also wondering what are the best types if clothes to wear for bf?! I know there are nursing tops but I'd rather not have to buy new stuff. Shirts with vests underneath?! Clueless here!

IBelieveInPink · 01/11/2013 23:25

Janie my friend recommended a vest top under whatever you normally wear.
Lift normal top up, and pull stretchy vest top down a bit - make a 'boob hole' so baby can latch on but nothing on show. That make sense? Hard to describe, but sounds like it would work without buying 'special feeding clothes'

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 01/11/2013 23:28

Oh good tip pink :) yes that makes perfect sense thank you!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/11/2013 23:34

Still no news from Emki? I hope she is ok.
Well done to everyone else who's had a good scan.
Come on Shell think push! Grin
I had to order a bump support this week. Sitting is ok, standing is fine, but anything involving bending or generally moving about results in the feeling that my insides are falling out! Confused My hip has been a bit twingy too, so Im hoping it helps with that too. I popped into Mothercare and tried one on, it was wonderful! So I came home and ordered one for less from amazon! Grin

IBelieveInPink · 02/11/2013 04:09

Okay, what does it mean when for a couple nights you get woken up in the night with just one big contraction (but nothing else)? Does this mean..... Will be another 4 weeks, stop getting excited.... Or..... Baby getting ready, you don't have to wait ages! :)

Chocolateteabag · 02/11/2013 07:22

Pink - no idea sorry - could be things starting or could just be a ramp up of annoying BH's

Janie & Pink - I am going to demote a coupl of my Primark cheapest white vests and convert them to feeding tops. I've seen underwear style tops with splits vertically over the boob area or ones which are split straight across just under boob. Last time I just did the one top up and one top down thing but with big boobs meant the top underneath being pulled down wasn't that comfortable.

I also had boob growth after day 3-5 when milk came in (you will feel it - very weird) and had to do a bulk order of maternity bras to try. As you'll not be doing too much in the first couple of weeks I'd definitely hold off spending too much on nursing bras until then. You can survive with one or a crop top style one for a few days. I also had a few new Primark scarves - made me feel slightly more pulled together and acted as extra boob shield in public. But not too £££ if had to be used as an emergency muslin.

Oh and since I had DS I see that mahoosive muslins are everywhere - they would have been super useful for DS so have been hinting at them for baby presents to my family.

shellsocks · 02/11/2013 07:55

No news Hmm Crap nights sleep waking up with pains but no contractions....oh well, maybe today!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 02/11/2013 08:00

With my dd's I went braless in hospital then bought proper bras on day 5 or 6 although I didn't feed because I couldn't Sad I attempted lots in the hospital and at home tho. Boobs really do go Dolly Parton rocks and then will settle after.

Thanks all for your thoughts, dd2 is doing much better after a descents nights sleep and I was asleep around 9pm myself!

Pink and she'll sounds like things are happening for you! How exciting Grin

At my scan my due date changed, so now due 10/5 and am 13 weeks today :) feeling much more positive than I was a few days ago, this baby might actually get full term.
