Polka how old are you? I think the figures vary a lot from person to person. There are a lot of contributing factors. Its not just age, its weight, NF measurement, I think whether you are a smoker even makes a difference.

Polka2 · 31/10/2013 15:47

Hi saggy I'm 37yrs old, NF was 1.8mm, non smoker, 80kg (but very tall!!????!!) Wink

Hi everyone, have had a very quick catch up on phone so will prob miss loads of things, but just quickly:

welcome living Smile here's to a happy stress free pregnancy.

great scan news polka and saggy! saggy so lovely your dcs came too, are they getting excited? it sounds like a fabulously positive scan experience and brilliant to hear ryvita (love!) is doing well!

baking and emki hope scans have gone ok today.

christine love unusual names! I'm struggling this time, everything I like seems to have got v popular :-l

pondering whether I need a steam cleaner now, do you think it would make housework more appealing again?!

Bakingtins · 31/10/2013 16:21

all ok at 9 week scan Smile

shellsocks · 31/10/2013 16:29

That's brilliant news tins very pleased for you Grin

Polka2 · 31/10/2013 16:29

Fab news Tins!!

WhatWillSantaBring · 31/10/2013 16:49

Oh tins I'm so pleased for you. I'm with saggy now (metaphorically, not literally) and really think that this one is going to be OK. This is your time.

kat hope the work is going ok then - i'm dreading it starting though can't wait to get it finished. In fact, I'm going home tonight to design the kitchen. I'm not a designer but hopefully my research exclusively done through MN will stand me in good stead.

For the newbies, this really is a lovely thread, ESPECIALLY in the early days when you are climbing the walls with worry but have no-one to talk about it to. Nest of vipers my enormous arse Grin.

11 mins till home time. My back hurts, I'm thirsty, hungry and tired, and just want to lie down. I wonder if anyone would notice if I did????

Pentagon · 31/10/2013 16:57

great news on your scans polka, saggy (sorry I'm a bit late) and baking!! So happy for you all! emki I hope it went well for you too!

happy maternity leave jmf, lucky, pink and choc!

jmf you have a date, yay! Less than a month to go Grin Elsie is doing well, thank you! I had a bit of a wobble a couple of days ago as she's sleeping a lot more than DD1 and being lethargic can be a GBS symptom but the midwife came to see us the next morning and found her healthy so I calmed down Smile Thank you for the reassurance re potty training, I hope DD1 gets it soon

Welcome living here's to a boring, uneventful pregnancy!

hi to everyone else, I can't wait for the rash of November babies!

Ikabod · 31/10/2013 17:19

Is it too late for me to join? I don't know how I missed this one, but anyhoo. MMC in May, found out I was expecting again 3 weeks ago (yay!), all seemed well until Sat and then... Well had "signs" that all was not well. Saw my consultant today (post ovarian drilling op follow up) and she was baffled about why I was worried. Clearly she's that good she can make babies stick...so went for a scan and everything points to a healthy 6-week, not 8+1 like I thought... Another scan in a week so everything crossed all's ok. Trying not to get too hopeful or panic too much; it's an emotional tightrope all right. Am going to have to tell work earlier than I wanted. I've only been there 3 weeks!

GardenWorm · 31/10/2013 17:32

Just a quickie;

FRICKIN AWESOME Tins! XxxxX

Welcome Ika

BirdsDoIt · 31/10/2013 18:04

Yay tins that's brilliant!

ika welcome - good that things were looking healthy at this week's scan and fingers crossed all will have progressed nicely by next week and that you'd just got your dates a bit off...this thread will be good company while you twiddle your thumbs / tear your hair out ...we've all been there or are there. What day is your next scan?

Any news emki? Have kept fingers crossed for you today x

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 31/10/2013 18:15

Evening all, tins so glad things are going well.

Have my 12 week scan tomorrow, I should be 12+2 but have convinced myself it's all over. I feel sick with worry and am sat here eating my way through the Halloween sweets, really not good as it's making me feel dizzy thirsty and generally unwell. But seriously you can't comfort eat veg and protine :(

I'm not keeping up with this thread very well I can feel myself sinking into a depression and it's all not good.

Penguinita · 31/10/2013 18:18

Great news tins! I have everything crossed for emki.

Hi ika, welcome! sounds like you have been on a bit of a roller coaster but wishing you a lovely straight flat road from now on.

me, I'd recommend going to your doctor if the nausea is that bad. I don't find ginger really works for me, it is too sweet. Peppermint tea, trebor mints and dry plain breadsticks are better.

Me and Pingu have made it through the day so far, he/she is making me feel very sick right now but I'm not complaining. I'm also starting to get a bit of a belly, it looks different to when I've eaten too much cake, more smooth and round rather than just a paunch which is nice Smile

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 31/10/2013 18:48

Yay Tins

Love to the rest of you too!

Bakingtins · 31/10/2013 19:47

cbeebies everything crossed for you tomorrow. Pre-scan anxiety is horrible but hope it will be a massive relief when it's all ok.

GuffSmuggler · 31/10/2013 20:45

Fantastic news baking! Grin One day at a time leads into one week at a time and slowly slowly you get there.

cbebbies the wait for the 12 week scan is horrendous, I don't know how I survived it without going crazy. One more day to go and you'll feel a lot better (I told myself I would feel better knowing either way than not knowing but not sure if that's helpful for others..).

Welcome ida this is a great place to vent!

ChristineDaae · 31/10/2013 20:45

Welcome to Me and Ika, don't worry we're all absolute raving lunatics here, especially for those horrible first 12 weeks!
Tins, so happy all is good! Grin Another scan next Thurs?
Fingers crossed Emki has good news too.
Cbeebies - Il be thinking of you tomorrow.
Snot/pig, how are our latest thread twins doing?nothing to report here, on the countdown to finishing work as SO many things are pissing me off in there lately. Don't know if il be able to keep my mouth shut for 7 whole weeks!

Bakingtins · 31/10/2013 20:52

Yep. My regular Thursday appointment. If it's ok next week they won't rescan until 12 weeks (and I might need to investigate NT scan or Harmony as don't think it's offered in my area, or wasn't last time I got that far).
I got the house officer today, she did a tummy scan and could see baby and heartbeat but got her knickers in a twist because she could see lots of fluid (I maintain it was my bladder!) so called in the registrar who got out dildocam and said it was all fine, can't see the haematoma from last week, all looking good. HO was a bit Blush but it's all fine, I don't mind being a Gpig as long as everything is ok. Hope to see the boss next time as will have to decide if it's ok to wean off the steroids....another thing to fret about.

Pentagon · 31/10/2013 23:00

Good luck tomorrow cbeebies! You'll be OK, I'm sure!

Welcome ida - all the best for your pregnancy!

Bodicea · 31/10/2013 23:31

Hello just checking in, still hanging in there. Fed up now. Too many ailments to mention.

Tins it make my blood boil that doctors are allowed to pick up a scanner, when they are not properly trained and have no idea what they are doing. They are bloody dangerous. I had to train for over 18 months postgrad before I was allowed to do my own reports.- that was intensive full time training! Wouldn't trust most doctors to scan me in a million years. Rant over. Glad everything was ok though
