JanieLovesLuckySocks · 29/10/2013 21:54

good luck for the scans tomorrow xx

i've got a 2hr breastfeeding workshop at the hospital in the morning, nt sure what to expect. and i washed lots of little babygros and things tonight, they're currently drying on a rack. feels very strange....about 4/5thsof me is super excited, the other 1/5th is thinking why am i bothering...surely this isn't real?!?!?! waaaaaaaaah

Chocolateteabag · 29/10/2013 21:56

Rainbow - sounds like normal stretching pains to me ("stabby fanjo" is the giveaway)

2 more days of work to go - and suddenly everyone is panicking and trying to get in a million questions all at the same time. Ugh! So much for a nice relaxed wind down! And need to back up all my files as they'll take my computer from me. The space invader is still ridiculously wiggly and wriggly - kicks and bumps all over the place all the time.

My waters broke on the Swiss ball in the delivery room just before I got to 10cm Grin

Good luck tomorrow Polka & Saggy Thanks

ChristineDaae · 29/10/2013 22:39

Good luck tomorrow Polka and Saggy. Swan, glad your scan went well. I had a low lying placenta with DD, caused some scary bleeding at 14 weeks but it had moved by 28 weeks so don't worry too much :)
Just home from one of my long days (where I work both jobs) 14 hour work days are getting pretty rubbish Hmm

fod27 · 30/10/2013 01:18

Just popped in for a quick catch up - good luck saggy the 20 wk one is the one we are fearing most I think too - thinking of you all xxxx

jmf294 · 30/10/2013 05:55

Good luck with the scans Saggy and Polka, hope all goes well.

How is baby Elsie doing Pentagon? Such a pretty name. I wouldn't worry about potty training, when they are ready they will crack it quickly. I bribed my daughter with lovely knickers and she was dry in a few days but both are still in pull up pants overnight!

I have finished work- feels totally unreal. They gave me lovely flowers and vouchers and decorated my desk with streamers and baby clothes. Was a stressful last day getting all the bits done.
I'm going to clinic today to see the consultant obstetrician, who knows I may get a date for the c-sec!!

GardenWorm · 30/10/2013 06:27

Good luck today Polka and Saggy, have everything crossed for you both xxx

Congrats Swan on a happy scan (with willy) Smile

Another maternity leaver joining us jmf, and pink you are too after today aren't you? I have commenced nesting. YEY! Thing is I go a bit nuts and was moving sofas yesterday...not sure how that's going to help the baby Grin

LuckySocks13 · 30/10/2013 06:51

Good luck for today's scans polka and saggy.

I'm also a maternity leaver. Good job as so shattered these days! Had plans to make all sorts of yummy food for the freezer but chasing around after DS is about all I can manage! Can't believe it's nearly the end! Janie - like you said it doesn't feel real!

IBelieveInPink · 30/10/2013 07:03

Ooh scans today. Good luck! Will be thinking of you!

And jmf for your appointment, fingers crossed for a date ;
:)

Yay maternity leave! Last day of work today - hoping they don't make too much of a fuss! Don't mean to sound ungrateful - but have hardly slept the last couple of nights and been having horrific nightmares. Don't think I could handle anyone being too nice to me!

Lucky - just have a couple days with as much rest as possible (with a toddler!) then start on cooking. Plenty of time

Garden - do be careful moving sofas!!! You just want to get baby going and jump the queue don't you - I know your game.... ;)

RainbowConnections · 30/10/2013 08:00

Good luck with todays scans.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 30/10/2013 08:38

ooh happy maternity leave ladies!!! i highly recommend it! although DH did come home on monday and looked around as if to say 'you obviously haven't done anything'!! I'd made the bed and been to tescos so not totally nothing! was chatting to (superhot) doctor yesterday and said i felt a bit guilty if i wasn't doing something and he said 'jane, you are growing a human, much more than any of the rest of us are doing, so rest up' :) i asked for that in writing!! so long as i do one or 2 vaguely productive things a day then i'm happy. i even bought a steam cleaner.... still in the box but it's bought!

Polka2 · 30/10/2013 09:55

Bloodyhell Bump if I arrive at the hospital with a single magpie trapped in there, I will be running for the hills!!!

saggy very good luck today.

Tom great news on your scan, so pleased/relieved for you.

Even more scaredy cat today as DH doesn't think he can get off work now................

GardenWorm · 30/10/2013 09:59

Janie surely chatting up to hottie doc requires some form of prep? Maybe you should tell DH you spent the day prepping for the appt? Wink

Pink I am quite happy to stay at the back of the Q there is far too much to do here and DD is only good for creating mess as I try to clean! Enjoy your last day Grin

Shell you still in tact or has someone started rumbling?

BirdsDoIt · 30/10/2013 10:32

Good luck everyone with scans today! Thinking of you.

Can't believe so many ladies going on maternity leave - must be so exciting even if it still feels a bit unreal! I hope you all have your phones at the ready for live updates because obviously telling us all about it will be the first thing on your mind while you're in labour!

My DH was expressing concern that I'd go 'a bit mad' at home worrying about the baby, if I take 4 weeks mat leave which is what I'd like to do. He said, but what are you going to DO all that time?! Personally I think I'll manage...garden impressed with your furniture moving skills but maybe you should stop lifting sofas at this point and just sit on them a la janie? Smile I'm exactly the same though - started moving a small v heavy concrete bench in our patio a few weeks ago and it was only halfway through that I thought, hmm, perhaps this wasn't the best plan.

Feeling much more chipper today as midwife has been for appt this morning and I heard heartbeat so feeling much more convinced that there's definitely a baby in there! Apparently all is well. Had been losing faith over last few weeks. rainbow I've been having a whole range of odd aches and pains - stabby, shooting pains low down, pains like someone is tugging on a string, mild period type pains, and when I've sneezed/laughed a couple of times I've had shooting pains all across my lower stomach - all quite sharp when they last but very brief and not that frequent - and asked the midwife about them, and she said all totally normal, no need to worry unless there's bleeding, it's the ligaments stretching and your insides rearranging themselves - typical of the second trimester (I'm 17+5 weeks) as the uterus moves from the pelvis up into the abdomen. So this is a very long winded way of saying it's totally nothing to worry about! (Although I had of course been worrying about it, am stopping that particular anxiety now).

Hope all is well with everyone and sorry for epic post x

BumpKitty · 30/10/2013 11:24

see now chocolate that is why i will be taking my own birthing ball to the hospital! Just imagine how many dilating fanjos have been on those balls! well that's an odd sentence Grin

happy maternity leave jmf, lucky and pink - today I will be getting DH to put my bags in the car, and precious little else. Though DH did just try to dress DD and commented about how many of her clothes are too small so maybe I'll have a bit of a sort out - I don't notice as I know what fits her and what doesn't.

rainbow stabby fanjo entirely normal, if not that much fun :)

Another of my yoga group had her baby this week - at 34 weeks! They are all jumping the queue, babies all good though so that's all that matters.

BumpKitty · 30/10/2013 11:25

and lovely news about hearing the heartbeat birds Grin

and happy scans for today xx

kjh5 · 30/10/2013 14:07

Trying to catch up on the the thread - thought I'd send lots of good luck saggy's way, your little kitten is such a fighter, really hope the scan goes ok. Anyone else up for scans this week?

My 20week (which will be happening at 21.5wks) is still 6 weeks away and the wait is killing me! Have my first midwife apt next week though, does anyone know if I might be able to hear a heartbeat? I'll be 16+5...

Saw someone asked about stabby pains in the groin/lower tummy region (think it was rainbow). I'm sure others have already let you know about their experiences but I am having the same thing, especially when I cough/sneeze. Apparently it is all normal and part of the stretching that is happening.

In good news I think the morning sickness might FINALLY be wearing off (I really hope so) and I am not nearly as tired as I have been. Really hoping I'm about to experience this amazing energy-filled 2nd trimester I keep hearing about! Was so miserable and fed up with it all last week, I think DH was considering moving out so he didn't have to deal with me!

Polka2 · 30/10/2013 15:15

Wehey! Scan seemed all good, I was measuring exactly on my dates of 12wks3 so due date 10th May and nuchal fold was 1.8 so I'm hoping thats good too.

saggy hope it went well too.

kj can't believe you're just getting over your ms now, I was hoping mine would be shifting this week, you've certainly had a really long run of it.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 30/10/2013 15:44

Hellooo!
Everything went wonderfully! Grin
Ryvita is growing nicely, her measurements have all levelled out on the 50th centile. They didnt find any other problems, and she was dancing about all over the place!
The Paediatrician was lovely, said he was very pleases with her and kept making me giggle which made the sonographer cross!Grin The screening midwife was really sweet and shared with me that she has an 18yo son with Down's and that itll all be ok. She is so nice!
My DCs came along for support and were also lovely!
Everything is lovely!
Grin Grin Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 30/10/2013 15:45

Oh, and I wont be getting the MLU sadly, and its very likely that Ryvita will come early, probably around 37 weeks or so.

BumpKitty · 30/10/2013 15:55

Oh that's excellent saggy what a positive scan Grin. Do they just expect her to be early or are they saying they will intervene, just being nosey!

BumpKitty · 30/10/2013 15:56

and congratulations to you too polka so glad that all is well x

Polka2 · 30/10/2013 15:58

saggy great news - so pleased she seems to be levelling out and doing so well. Wink

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 30/10/2013 16:11

Apparently Down's babies often cone early.
Itll be a surprise if she does, the other 2 were clinging on for dear life and had to be prised out at 42 weeks! Hmm Confused Grin
I have visions of them having hands and feet wedged against the doorframe in an effort to stay inside! Grin

GardenWorm · 30/10/2013 16:22

YEY! Congrats Polka and Saggy!!!! Grin

Saggy Ryvita sounds very happy, I bet she stays in doors just like your others ;0)

BlackholesAndRevelations · 30/10/2013 16:33

Aw great news saggy and polka Grin Grin xxx
