Lovely to hear abt your DD1 and the baby pentagon Smile Glad things are going well x

Had a great day with the potty training today, no accidents and DS brought me the potty 3 times when he needed a wee Grin What a little star Smile Still not happy on getting out the house but even if we don't get there he has done so well Smile Thanks for the words of encouragement pixie and keep up the good work guff Smile

pink I don't get the bowling ball either but am walking with my legs further apart and when the baby moves it gives me shocks deep down below (sometimes quite painful!) so I have to lift myself off my seat with my hands! Very pleasant Grin

GardenWorm · 28/10/2013 21:25

Shell hang on in with the potty training if you can. DD was a bit hit & miss for the first 2 weeks and then suddenly clicked and we haven't looked back since. I've kept her in nappies for night time even though she is always dry as if she has a lapse when baby arrives I think it will be better for her to wee in a nappy rather than upset herself by wetting the bed. Can recommend the potette plus potty/toddler toilet seat for when you are out and about, you get bags (like nappy sacks but with a pad in) to use and they hold loads of wee until you find a bin. DD has it for using the 'big girl toilet' at home then if we go out we take it and either use the seat on normal loos or the potty and bag Smile

...sounds like another thread baby may be coming soon Wink

BumpKitty · 28/10/2013 22:59

Ooh look at you lot with your engaged babies! Mine's still happily flipping about Hmm, with DD she literally clunked in to position the day before I had her, I tuned over and felt a horrible sensation and thought I'd broken her neck! I went in for monitoring as I couldn't feel any movements after the clunk but she was fine. Just thought I'd share incase anyone else's baby decides to scare them half to death :)

cbeebies I'm glad to hear the bleeding has stopped, roll on Friday!
baking bloody hell you could have knocked yourself out on the sink! Does all sound very pg related to me though Grin

Urgh potty training, DD is 3 in December and is fully trained when she feels like it, weeks with no accidents then sometimes 5 in a day 'cos I wanted to' drives me up the wall! kudos to you shell for trying at 8/9 months pg with horrendous spd, I'm very impressed and it sounds like he's getting there :)

Tomkat79 · 29/10/2013 11:07

Morning people, bump that clunk sounds terrifying! Mind you I remember lying in bed and hearing my waters break, that was bizarre!

Just got a hospital letter saying my combined test results (blood and nt measurements) are 1 in 100000?! Surely that's a typo and someone added a few 000's? I'm a 33 yet old over weight ex smoker.

IBelieveInPink · 29/10/2013 11:31

Oh bump that does sound terrifying. Although equally - so does hearing waters pop! I keep thinking about that - due to spd I have to sleep with 2 pillows between my legs - what of waters go all over the pillows?!

Tom - that sounds like a fantastic result woohoo!

Tomkat79 · 29/10/2013 11:37

pink it shouldn't do as usually start with a trickle. Delivery suite then told me to bring a soaked pad in so they could check it was my waters! Wtf?! I think I'd know if I'd peed myself.

IBelieveInPink · 29/10/2013 12:06

Haha tom I don't know about that - you see so many threads on here with people asking 'waters or pee?!'
Still can't get over the idea of a 'pop'! Ha!

shellsocks · 29/10/2013 12:48

Thanks garden and bump it is such hard work tho, hardest mum thing I've done! Would be so much easier without the PGP Hmm Will defo be keeping him in nappies at night as he is staying in the cot until the baby needs it in a few months Smile

Great result tom Smile

pink my waters went with a gush but I was already in labour (getting out the bath!!). I think I have read that it isn't that common for the first sign of labour to be waters breaking so you should be ok in bed hopefully Smile

Sooo, I had one massive pain before bending down to empty the bloody potty thought oo er better get DH home and DM to get DS but that was it! Disappointed, but glad I never called in the cavalry Blush Wink

ScabbyOozingCarbuncle · 29/10/2013 13:24

my waters went with a pop! Thankfully I was sitting on the looib the maternity home at the time! Grin

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 29/10/2013 13:45

ooh i am getting scared of the pop!!

i'm at home and have done nothing but eat all day. anything that's nearby is getting hoovered oops!

GardenWorm · 29/10/2013 14:23

Mine didn't pop they trickled and pink you can tell as waters smell sweet(?) and pee smells like pee! That's why the midwives will ask you to put a pad on when you first ring them...so they can sniff n see! Mmmmm. Nice perk of the job Grin

Polka2 · 29/10/2013 15:17

Whoa 'popping' waters sounds like something to look forward to Confused

I have my dating and nuchal scan tomorrow and I'm terrified - I still feel very sicky (so hope thats a good sign) but the last 3 nights I've had awful dreams that there's nothing there, or like previously they're not alive, I am trying to be positive but its so scary - I'm touching every piece of wood and saluting every magpie.

Tomkat79 · 29/10/2013 15:30

polka hang on in there. It's such a worry but keep positive.

Just been having a look at a 'due in' thread on here and can't believe how some people are. I copy and pasted the following...(one of the girls on the thread has just had a MMC and posted, this is anothers response about 3 down from OP)

So sorry

It seems a bit insensitive to post this now but I can't manage to keep it to myself any longer, scan this morning and it was lovely. Was confirmed at 12+4 with due date 8 May.

Nice!!!!

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 16:19

Good luck for tomorrow Polka

My waters have gone with a bit of a bang both times but not till I was fully dilated. With DS2 he pretty much surfed out on the wave!

BumpKitty · 29/10/2013 16:27

Tomkat I'm sure your letter wasn't a typo - i guess any result is valid! You must be most relieved :) and as for the comment above really some people have no empathy whatsoever. I just disappeared off my due in April thread when I mc as really what can they say.

polka fingers crossed for your scan, just be aware the bad thoughts and dreams are completely without basis - most of us have had them and we all did the magpie thing too - there was a bloody magpie trapped in the hospital foyer when I went for my 20 week scan!

My waters just trickled too, plenty of time to get a pad in and no popping Grin

RainbowConnections · 29/10/2013 16:38

Good luck Polka.

Can I ask please, has anyone had sharp stabby (though quite mild) pains in cervix/top vagina. I've had them coming and going all day. Assuming this is normal/stretching etc? Havent had before or with DS (though I may have forgotten).

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 29/10/2013 16:55

Stressing with you Polka!
I have my anomaly scan tomorrow. I am totally bricking it! I seriously cant cope with any more problems!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 29/10/2013 17:13

Aw saggy good luck for tomorrow, hope all is well with little pink kitten xxx

Good luck polka too xxx

My waters trickled first time and had to be popped second time. First time I was in the bath and actually weed myself first! It was uncontrollable! Was thinking "hmm, thank goodness I'm in the bath!" was definitely wee though. And then more liquid came out which was definitely not wee. Strange sensation! Would love my waters to gush just so I can see what it's like (in an approoriate place of course!!)

BlackholesAndRevelations · 29/10/2013 17:14

Oh and second time after they were popped for me, I sat in a big puddle with a horrible feeling of more coming out each time I had a contraction- urgh!

All that said... I can't wait to do it all again! Grin

Pentagon · 29/10/2013 17:27

good luck tomorrow polka and saggy! I'm sure you'll both be fine but I know the stress is inevitable

tomkat I got the same result and had the same reaction - with DD1 I had 1:11000 so when I opened the letter I thought it was 1:10000...until I noticed the extra zero and started worrying as I'm 35 and didn't expect this figure

ibip my waters went with a bang last time (after 2 days of slow labour) and this time they trickled once I got to the hospital.

DD1 is still not interested in potty training and she will be 3 in February...I'm starting to get worried...

Swangirl · 29/10/2013 17:54

When I had Dd my waters popped I was in hospital and wonder what it was. They just trickled out . One of the other ladies on the ward called the midwife hours later Dd arrived she is 10 Shock on Thursday. With both my ds's my waters went just before they were born.
I had my 20 week scan last Thusday and I was bricking it. I wasn't going to find out what the flavour was but I could see a little willie on the scan so asked I am having another boyGrin . My only thing now I have to worry about is my low lying placenta moves upand away from my cervix. I am having another scan at 32 weeks to see if it has shifted.
Good luck to everyone having a scan this week.

Bakingtins · 29/10/2013 18:18

Good luck for Saggy as well.

Lieslvontrapp · 29/10/2013 18:22

Congrats on the 20 wk scan swangirl! Funny you saw the willy! I've got the same issue with the placenta and being rescanned at 34 wks. Fingers crossed for both of us that it moves up.

Good luck for tomorrow polka & saggy!

Getting excited that we have some engaged ladies!

Cbeebies glad to hear the bleeding has stopped. Must have been the dtd!

andthepiggotupandslowlywalkeda · 29/10/2013 20:05

Good luck for Scannees! Polka, have a good one tomorrow and kick those magpie arses.

Cbeebies, I'm sorry you had such a stressy weekend, and hope you get reassurance on Friday.

GuffSmuggler · 29/10/2013 21:43

Good luck tomorrow polka and saggy.
