this might be a stupid qs but i really want to know!! i have never had big boobs but now they have increased i would say by double since i have been pregnant...i am 31 weeks now...i will be bottle feeding dont know if that makes any difference....some people have said they used to have small boobs until they had kids, others say having kids has left them flat chested....as long as they dont get smaller than they were before im not too bothered but im really intrigued!!! any ideas or personal experience anyone??? thanks

lol. I lost mine the first two times. They've stayed this time, but I am a dress size bigger anyway. I loved having big boobs too, since I was always very flat prior to having children.

LadyTamba · 28/06/2006 11:22

Mine varied, going from a C to a F in my first pregnancy then back down to an E after...

Second pregnancy they stayed an E but have now settled nicely at a D.

Mine always return eventually to their former size. It's just another great reason to go on and on and on breastfeeding for as long as you both want to.

oooh sounds hopeful ladies..goody goody!!!!

In my first pregnancy I went from a C cup to a DD, but I also seemed to keep a lot of my 'baby weight' when I had had DS, this time (I am 18+5 now) my boobs have hardly changed at all, they are perhaps heavier but not any bigger, but I have lost quite a bit of weight during the pregnancy anyway, so I don't know how I will end up this time.

shhhh · 28/06/2006 12:34

Mine went a size & cup bigger BUT are not as firm as they were before..! Prob resemble "paps" now. lol..!!!

TuttiFrutti · 28/06/2006 12:36

Mine are slightly smaller now than they were before pregnancy - they got a couple of sizes bigger when breastfeeding but shrunk (and sagged!) afterwards. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant again and waiting with bated breath for boobs to start getting bigger, but it hasn't happened yet...

honeychild · 29/06/2006 10:53

Sadly mine started AA, grew to a magnificent B and ended right back at AA. Sniff. The good news is they have remained enviably perky (though I say so myself ) despite bf two babies. At least they haven't ended up like envelope flaps (as Jenny Eclair described it...)

MerlinsBeard · 29/06/2006 10:56

don't get too excited!! I was a just a bout an A b4, went to a C both times and now am back to an A, altho am now 2 dress sizes bigger than b4 ds1. SAdly tho, mine are like 2 used teabags on a string too

must add that i bf ds1 for 2 weeks and ds2 for 16 weeks so dunno if that makes a diff. i loved my cleavage too

iamapieceofcheesecake · 29/06/2006 11:01

I know exactly what you are talking about greensleeves. The worst thing is, I am a d cup, but i don't look it! They look a lot smaller than imo they should.

poppiesinaline · 29/06/2006 11:10

I used to be a good A cup, bordering on a B, now 3 kids later I am a AA at a push Gel bras are my saving grace

Kelly1978 · 29/06/2006 11:13

of those that stayed perky. After bfeeding four, my nipples are def a few inches lower than they used to be! Agree with the bfeeding tho, it was almost enough to make me continue, just for the boobs!

BonyM · 29/06/2006 11:43

Before having dd1 I was a 36B, after I finished breastfeeding her at 9 months I settled at a 34D, and still perky!

DD2 is now 15mths (7 years between the 2 girls) and my boobs are now a 34DD, however I am still breastfeeding so not sure what they will end up as! Sadly they're not quite so pert these days, but then I put that down to age (almost 40) as much as anything else.

hoppybird · 29/06/2006 11:54

My little theory about this is that you need to put on a good amount of weight elswhere, so that b/f uses up your additional fat first, rather than what's in your breasts, so they don't get 'empty'. Mine eventually returned to the same pre-pg size and shape (if a tiny bit softer) around 18 months after stopping b/f (which I did for 18 months). No droopage whatsoever. But then again, I may have just been genetically fortunate and might not be so lucky this time round

I would have thought that suddenly losing the weight put on during pg by not b/f would make them saggy?

kate100 · 29/06/2006 12:55

Mine have gone up a cup size after having my biys from a C to a D. Bit softer than before, but still in roughly the sane position, can;t complain really.

KellyMacplus2 · 29/06/2006 13:16

After first ds mine were like two empty sacks (bf for 9 months). Envelope flaps sums it up nicely!!

Am now bf second ds and boobs are great, however, I can tell they will return to a worse state when I stop bf this time, skin is stretched and they just don't have any tone now. Gonna continue bf until my ds is 40 have decided.

'hmmm bitty'!!!

mears · 29/06/2006 13:24

steff - the reason your boobs are bigger in pregnancu is that thety are preparing to breastfeed your baby. I am afraid if you don't use them, you lose them

lisafredsandcesca · 29/06/2006 15:02

I fed both my daughters for a year each (youngest is now 14 months) and each preg, my boobs went up a size. Pre-preg started out at 34C, then went up to 36GG . Now, they are 32E and seem to be staying that way. So, I guess, my answer is yes, you can keep them - but I agree with HoppyBird's theory (I put on 4st each preg, although lost it all again quite quickly - voracious feeders always help!). Unfortunately, the shape is not quite the same(!!) But House of Fraser are fantastic at kitting you out in the most amazing bras and making the most of what's there!

1963 · 29/06/2006 16:26

People always say that your boobs shrink right back after you stop breastfeeding but this did not happen to me. In fact I started at size 34AA and am now a size 36C. I stopped breastfeeding 6 months ago and they have not shrunk a bit. I am ecstatic. (However I did have to breastfeed for 6 years!)

helenmelon · 29/06/2006 17:18

Oh my goodness - can't wait for mine to go down!!! Used to be a very ample 34E, went up to a 34K with breast feeding and am now about a J as I'm reducing my breastfeeding. Jordan eat your heart out!!!

Most alarming bit is the nipples facing downwards rather than the lovely pert things I used to have out front!!! If you do end up with bigguns - I recommend Debenhams and Bravissimo for the larger bosom!!

I do have a bit of weight to lose, but not much - I just look a bit strange with them being so big...

juuule · 29/06/2006 17:36

Mine shrunk back to normal once I stopped breastfeeding. However, after this last baby, they have stayed but then so has the baby belly so think in my case at least it's directly related to how much extra weight I'm carrying.
