Hi, hoping everyone is fast asleep! I woke up at 3 with what I thought was a braxton hick (period like cramp in lower uterus), went to the loo but had a gush of something en route, small pool on floor, stuff down my legs. Put a pad in and tried to go back to sleep but had another BH. Have come downstairs and there's a fair amount of bloody water on the pad. Dark pink.
Should I call the DAU when they open at 8? I'm 36+5
Thanks X

Call them. Sounds like like eyes to me.

Goodluck.

Antidote · 27/09/2013 03:25

Waters not eyes. Damn auto correct

WifeofGru · 27/09/2013 03:26

Yep call them. Keep track of any contractions and if frequent time the interval between them. Good luck!

phantomhairpuller · 27/09/2013 03:28

I wouldn't wait until 8am Wink

Quinandthem · 27/09/2013 03:28

I would definitely call them.

My waters had an almost oily feel to them - you could tell it was not urine. Also as head was engaged not a lot came out to begin with. If you lay down and get up again you may find more comes out.

Good luck (11wk old feeding as I type)

Replies! Thank you so much. Losing quite a lot of water and tightening pain every 10 mins so will definitely call them in a bit.
I'm not ready for the baby though! It's my last day at work today and I haven't finished everything, and I had 3-5 weeks of cake eating, cinema going and book reading planned...

Sounds like your waters to me! Call them now instead of waiting, but they may very easily say comenin later when you wake up if you're not in active labor!

GOOD LUCK!

Oh my god, this happened to me Monday. Exactly the same. A gush and then pinky fluid and I was changing pad very often to keep up (maternity ones)

My gush was 19:15, I had my baby at 23:45.......

Quinandthem · 27/09/2013 03:54

Btw you probably have missed out pn reading and cinema time, but make sure you still eat plenty of cake! When DS was just a few days old, my brother-in-law turned up with a Victoria Sponge. It was just what I needed!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 27/09/2013 06:34

Titsalinabumsquash · 27/09/2013 06:41

Thank you guys Thanks, definitely waters and contracting every 5 mins. they bloody hurt. having antibiotics and the will induce Sunday if nothing happens before (can't check my cervix apparently because of infection risk? But did speculum and torch to check waters). I'm hoping I'll be allowed home for a bit but unlikely...
So much for my home water birth! Grin
