Pregnant and Angry Women

I think I must be going mad ... has anyone felt like this during their pregnancy ?? Instead of either having serene and sedately thoughts, or even getting teary and emotional, my emotions are completely the opposite. I tend to get very angry and annoyed with everything, getting riled easily and being argumentive. For example, last week for no real reason I wanted to jab my work colleague sitting next to me with some chopsticks. This is very very unlike me. I hope these feelings won't dictate the baby's personality.

Tell me am I going a bit nutty here?

levanna , thank you for your support , I hope so too ! not used to all these negative thoughts , ususaly just get mad and even as opposed to just crazy ! only 5 weeks to go an if one more person say " not long to go " I will punch them ! not long to carry around 2 stone with labour looming in front of you ? why is it people ( men more often ) say such stupid things ? is it genetic ?

mummytojames · 09/03/2004 18:49

Angeliz · 09/03/2004 18:51

OOh am having a giggle,

When i was pregnant, a woman reversed into me and i was still a learner but it was her fault! I was SO annoyed that people would think it was me and gave her such a mouthful! My sisters and my mam were in the car with me, two of us were 8 months pregnant and we were all in a mini!
Honest, we were like the Slaters on speed

Also a guy had me in tears for no reason really at this DIY shop. My dad found out and went and told him he'd better not upset me again! The guy was on the phone and my dad walked round the counter and said,"you're talking to me now".
(He's no gangster and i can't remember him ever doing anything like that but i was SO proud!!!

mummytojames · 09/03/2004 18:52

dol bear in a mans eyes five weeks is a short time in a pregnant womans eyes it may as well be another nine months because coming to the end you got the labour to look forward to ( definately not) and the baby has grown to full now i used to reply you carry him around for one day in your belly then tell me its not long

highlander · 09/03/2004 18:55

are we allowed to use really bad swear words on this thread?

mummytojames · 09/03/2004 18:56

put the first letter then stars we will know what you mean

emmatmg · 09/03/2004 19:12

DS3 is (nearly) six months old now and a few people STILL comment on how big I was and how my pregnancy went on for ages and ages.

WHAT THE FCK!!!.....he's six months old.....look at him you idiot....he's sitting in the pram in front of you......I really do remember being very PG in 100c last summer so please just admire my baby, I do not need reminding of how big I was and for how long!!!!!

Ahhhh, it's quite nice to know the PG hormones haven't gone completely yet

Levanna · 09/03/2004 21:35

Hee hee, shouldn't laugh really. I've just decided to divorce my spineless, arrogant, ignorant, and SELFISH husband. (GRRRRR!!)
My rationalle says that he's none of the above, and that I am not being rational at all......so, I'm divorcing that too!

(Please don't be concerned in any way, I'm just throwing a strop!)

dolbear · 10/03/2004 21:35

crikey ,
i am feelin unualy mellow today , but seem to have passed anger to my mum , who is fihting back against two selfish , aragant etc men ie dad and bro , have been giving her some important pointers , no stupid comments to report today , other than the usual , are you eating for 4 ? ha ha , bloody ha ( and yes i did need to eat half that jam pudding )

suzywong · 10/03/2004 21:40

I know I have posted this information on other threads and it's probably making people feel queasy, but I have first AF since baby (6months) and it is EXACTLY like angry PG mode.
I'm lovin it!

Levanna · 26/04/2004 22:33

heehee, just had to revive this thread (and by the looks of things, I'll continue to do so for the next, oooh, I dunno .......4 months or so !)
Today I had my first 'parking space row'! I can't believe it, really I can't! I've never before argued with someone over a bl**dy parking space. Won't go into details, but I WON!!

Nimme · 27/04/2004 09:58

It finally clicks. Was working with very slow thorough time-wasting irritating boss (as opposed to me who very fast and IMPATIENT) and had huge desire to repeatedly stab his bald head as he kept me waiting in his office forever. Scared myself a bit as I hate anything physical - now remember I was pregnant.

bossykate · 27/04/2004 10:05

i have violent homicidal fantasies before getting on to the tube - but luckily have always got a seat so far!

littlerach · 27/04/2004 10:10

More stories, please!!!!
Have not laughed so much for weeks. In fact, nearly wet myself - am 6 months preg in my defence!!!

A few wks ago I threw the remote control at the wall in anger at DH, do not feel nearly as bad now!!

Twinkie · 27/04/2004 10:19

Well yesterday picked DD up from school - was halfway into reversing to turn car round to get out of road and she sneezed turned round to see my baby covered in blood, pouring from her nose - all over pink dress and beige seat belts!! (DPs beige seatbelts!!) - so continued reversing until car was at side of road and stopped leapt in back with packet of babywipes and tried to stem the flow - and this is when the biggest wanker in the history of wankerdom decides to poke his head out of his front door and yell insults at me for parking across his next door neighbours drive - you people with your posh cars always think you can come round here picking your kids up and parking across the front of our houses - well that did it - I was stressed already and hot and sad cause I never seen that much blood from DD before so he got everything I had to throw at him -

Complete and utter tosser - even when I had jammed the 50 blood soaked babywipes in his face - and I man in his weazel like face so he had blood and johnsons stuffed on to it he still shouted at me - do I not have any consideration for people like him who live near the school - aaaarrrrgggghhhhh - No1 the school was here before you and if you are that much of an idiot to buy a house here then you are asking for it - No2 If he had stopped wanking 2 minutes earlier he woul dhave seen me parked 20 yards up the road no where near his f'ing next door neighbours huose and No3 it is actually not against any law to aprk across an empty drive so I am now going to make it my mission to fuck hi or his neighbour off everyday by either parking across one of their drives!!

DP is going to go round there and tell him how rude he is tonight - he he he!!

Then drove off and got hit by a lorry!!!!

Lolabelle · 27/04/2004 14:07

I amlike a woman posessed but I stillmaintain I only get angry/upset fopr valid reason sits just that I am not in control of the extent of my emotions - still nottalking to my parents who nearly crashed into another car whilst giving me a lift, to be fair it was the other cars fault but I burst into tears and shouted abuse (of the swearing variety) at my dad for nearly injuring a pregnnat women and insisting he take me home immediately. When we got hoe i slammed the car door and stormed inside only to collapse in flodds of tears into my hubbies arms!! The words 'drama' and 'queen' spring to mind...

oliveoil · 28/04/2004 13:05

I am going to knock someone out in a minute, EVERYONE at work is getting on my tits. Can leave at 1.30 to go to antenatal appointment so have 27 mins to keep my temper.

bunny2 · 28/04/2004 14:01

I thought it was just me!! I gave the binmen 2-fingers yesterday for not saying thankyou to me for moving out of the way so they could pass. The driver saw and had a real go at me. On saturday some drunken sh*t crashed into our car and wrote it off. Dh has had to restrain me from going round to his house with a brick. And poor dh is getting it the worst. I have told him to drop dead, that I want a divorce, that I made a mistake marrying him etc etc. The poor bloke, I love him dearly but being pregnant seems to bring out the witch in me.

beansprout · 28/04/2004 14:03

Some poor sod at work asked "are you sure?" when I said I would do something, and my immediate response was "Christ, how many times do you want to ask me? Which bit of yes don't you understand?!". Ahem.

Twinkie · 28/04/2004 14:11

Yes I am fine - went into huge drama queen mode cause was in DPs car and it sounded like the back of the car was stoved in - I was hot, DD had just recovered from her nosebleed and I was on a roundabout - thought man was going to follow me after he hit me cause he sort of motioned for me to go on - realised after that it was him swearing and gesticulating at me so I pulled onto the M25 slip road and called the police - felt a bit of an idiot when the lady on the phone had to keep saying OK Mrs *** pull yourself together you have to realise that it is a bit silly to stop where you are and you have your daughter in the car and you don't want to scare her with your crying - think my reply was something like- but my car is badly hurt and my daughter has just had a nosebleed and I am pregnant - none of which wer eher fault but she had no reason to tell me to pull myself together - just felt like she had no compassion at all!!

Car was fine though - 2 tiny little scratches and DD was asleep and I was just being a big DQ!!

eidsvold · 28/04/2004 19:30

I had one yesterday - first of all this woman has a fight with her boyfriend so gets out of the car at the traffic lights and proceeds to walk down the center of our lane ( through the town peak hour traffic) crossing a major intersection holding up all the traffic. It gave me such a fright as the van behind me was right up my butt trying to bully me into squeezing past this woman but the lane beside me was full. I finally managed to squeeze past but that left me shaken.

Then after picking up dd from nursery, this driver decided to cut me up causing me to slam on my brakes - only to look in the mirror and see his little mate ( they had been kinda racing) laughing - well I went into potty mouth mode calling them F W shouting that I had a child in the car as well as being pregnant and if they wanted to sandwich my car feel free - and then some more expletives... it gave me such a shock I was shaking.....

i then had a cab in the lane next to me beep his horn and when I looked over he told me to watch my mouth ..... well if the traffic had not moved I would have got out and told him to watch my fist..... I was wild. Okay if the taxi had a little old lady in the back - fair enough but it was some middle aged geezer....

Had anyone else cut me up or done something stupid I think i would have been on the news for road rage.... I just was so angry and shocked I was still shaking 15 minutes later when I got home to dh.

Freddiecat · 29/04/2004 13:59

I had a big hissy fit in Tesco because they quibbled with me taking a wine carrying box for 6 bottles of premium beer. I told them that I would either leave all my shopping unpacked on the till or they could pack it and carry it all to the car for me.

I was shouting.....

Twinkie · 29/04/2004 14:00

DO you think we could do real bad things and get away with it saying it is our hormones??
