Hello everyone, I need some advice or reassurance or anything really to try and make me feel better Sad

I had a reassurance scan yesterday which showed a lovely strong heartbeat and the sonographer was really happy with everything. I'm dated at 7wks and 3 days.

However, I woke up this morning with a stomach ache and now I'm having spotting Sad I thought I saw a bit of blood in my underwear when I went to have a wee, and after I wiped there was definite pink streaking. I have since gone the loo twice and the same thing happened both times.

I rang my Community Midwife who told me to go and see my GP as he will refer me to the EPU if he is concerned.

I have got my appointment in an hour and I'm so scared. This time yesterday I had just left my scan appointment on cloud 9 and now, 24 hours later I'm scared I've lost the baby.

I hope everything's ok writer Thinking of you! It is such a scary thing, just try to rest and be kind to yourself.

Aldwick · 16/08/2013 07:22

Another one here who bled all through pregnancy. Horribly stressful but resulted in a perfectly healthy baby. Thinking of you today.

sparklingstars · 16/08/2013 07:27

Writer I had that all the way through two of my pregnancies, both were fine.

Writerwannabe83 · 16/08/2013 07:28

Thanks everyone, my scan is at 10.50am so at least I haven't got to wait too long. I once thought that trying to get a BFP would be the most stressful part of pregnancy, how naive I was!

Kelly1814 · 16/08/2013 08:13

Thinking of you.

Cally123 · 16/08/2013 08:30

Good luck and stay positive! I had this at 6 weeks only 12 now but everything seems okay, fingers crossed.

Sending my love and prayers x

TerrysNo2 · 16/08/2013 08:35

Good luck today. When I miscarried the blood didn't stop until it was all over and it just got heavier so what you've said sounds positive.

Hope everything goes well with the scan and DHs grandma.

Mammysammy1980 · 16/08/2013 08:36

Good luck xx

Makqueen · 16/08/2013 08:46

Best of luck for today x

Thank you everyone. I have had a nice shower and I feel a bit more positive now. My stomach ache has definitely eased off a little too.

I'm not doing the hard job of forcing 3 pints of water into my stomach. I'm only 75% through the first one and I already need a wee.

I meant to say I'm now doing the hard job... Smile

How did you get on writer? Really hope its good news.

TeaAndANatter · 16/08/2013 11:59

Crossing everything for you. I had some gentle cramping and some pinky smears on the weekend before I miscarried, but equally have friends that bled copiously of red blood, and were subsequently fine. Hoping this morning's not too awful for you.

pizzaqueen · 16/08/2013 12:52

how did you get on writer? hope it was good news. Thanks

MrsOakenshield · 16/08/2013 12:57

you don't need to be referred to the EPU, you should just be able to walk in - give them a ring and ask. Ours has walk in every morning, it can be a long wait but as long as you got there early you would be seen.

MrsOakenshield · 16/08/2013 12:58

sorry, xpost. Hope it all went well for you.

mumoftwoboysS · 16/08/2013 13:51

hope all is well- was reading and just wanted to add my experience too- I had spotting (pink streaks) @ 6 weeks, now I'm 21 weeks and all is going well. I wasn't as lucky as you in that the hospital wouldn't let me have a scan to check on things so I just had to wait Hmm

I was terrified too but a small amount of blood like that often doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the baby- hope you get some reassurance!

Writerwannabe83 · 16/08/2013 14:49

Hi everyone,

Good news!!!! Baby is fine and there was a very clear heartbeat Grin Grin

For the first 10 seconds of her having the scanner on me there was nothing but a black empty space and me and hubby immediately thought the worse - but then she manoeuvred it round a little and suddenly my little bean appeared. We were so, so relieved!!

I spoke to the midwife after my scan and she said she couldn't find a reason for my cramps or spotting and that sometimes it 'just happens'. She was happy with everything though and discharged us from their care.

We then went to see my hubby's Grandma and she actually looked really well, much better than yesterday apparently. So good news all round. Smile

I'm just having something to eat now and then I'm going straight to bed - I am exhausted!!! Now I have a worry free mind I'm hoping I can catch up on the sleep I couldn't get last night.

Thank you all so much for your support and reassurances x x
