anda awesome bump! SO exciting: not long to go now!!

Maybe there'll be a diamond tied on to the neck of the sheep when he gives it to you...here's hoping...

IBelieveInPink · 27/08/2013 11:22

Wow that's an impressive bump! :) and is only a good thing that babies are such a good size, will help when they pop. So you actually go in tomorrow? Ooh that's like one less sleep to wait! :)

shellsocks · 27/08/2013 11:48

Thanks for the lists everyone, I'd forgotten dummies...DS got one when he was 8 days old and it changed everything, I was no longer a human dummy! Wink

Hi bambam and donna welcome and congrats Grin

Hope you're keeping busy today jmf x

anda excited for you and us can't wait to hear your news on Thursday Smile You look good, huge but good Grin And big sizes is what you want, don't be scared x

santa we loved that DH could stay with us for the nights I was in hospital, can't imagine him not being there then, tho I did say he should go home after DS was born, before we got our room and before the first visiting hours so he got a few hours sleep then Smile Don't know how we will feel this time tho as DS to consider now so we might want him at home with DH if I have to stay in?

andadietcoke · 27/08/2013 11:50

ibip tomorrow is just the pre-op - think it's MRSA swabs etc. I've already consented, but I think you'd normally do that too. I can go home afterwards, but yes, in a weird way, I feel like I just have to get through today because tomorrow they'll be checked again. And thankfully, after a really quiet afternoon/evening yesterday, they're lovely and wriggly today Grin

Bambamb · 27/08/2013 11:54

Love the bump picture! I've been really worried that I am way too big but your pic has made me feel better, ha ha! I am only 28 weeks, think I'm going to be a similar size as you at your stage.

Finally bought some baby things yesterday after holding back for so long due to fear of jinxing things, has made me awfully happy!

Bambamb · 27/08/2013 11:55

Oh are you having twins? ! Wow good looking luck. I'm not so I guess I am massive after all!!

kjh5 · 27/08/2013 12:18

Ok so made it through the weekend - this is officially the most pregnant I have ever been without any bleeding. Although I am getting some weird cramps in my lower abdomen which are waking me up every two hours at night - they are occasionally one-sided so I convinced myself at 3am this pregnancy is ectopic and then made the mistake of looking up the symptoms... needless to say I am now in a bit of a panic and I don't know if I am being a massive hypochondriac or if there is actually something to worry about! Ugh

Anda your bump is gorgeous! And you are almost there - so excited for you :)

Tea Yay on the nausea! Loving your posifrickintivity today

Welcome bambamb and donna everyone here is wonderful and supportive, you have definitely found the right place.

ChristineDaae · 27/08/2013 12:22

Awwww Anda look at your bump!! It's fab! So exciting they will be here soon!!!!

WhatWillSantaBring · 27/08/2013 12:34

Sorry to those having scans this week (birds and I can't now remmeber who else) - I didn't mean to belittle it for you. Its terrrifying but we're all here for you every step of the way. Try to stay positive and remember that the scan is way way way more likely to be good than bad. And if it is bad, you'll survive, because women like us are made of pretty special strong stuff.

Lieslvontrapp · 27/08/2013 12:37

Welcome donna & bambam!

Good luck for tomorrow swangirl & birds!

Lovely bump anda. Have a nice day today. So nearly there!

I'm off on holiday for a week and not sure I'll have Internet access so looking forward to reading about good scan news and new thread babies when I get back!

GuffSmuggler · 27/08/2013 14:03

AWESOME bump pic anda!! Amazing our body can hold 2 babies (or more!)

I can't wait to have a big baby bump and it prob will be as big as twins at this rate as I'm officially in the maternity clothes box and feel BIG, I'm only 13 weeks, that is not good is it!!

Welcome to the newbies and good luck for the scans birds, swangirl and if there's anyone else I've missed.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 27/08/2013 15:53

Wowsers anda!! Hot momma!!! You look fab :) love your bump :)

Hello to new ladies and good luck to all with scans.

Pixie (I think) your mil issues sound like a nightmare...maybe go down the route of 'after finding it quite stressful with visitors last time, this time we really want to......'

BirdsDoIt · 27/08/2013 15:55

kjh one day at a time! It's great to pass that milestone. I've had cramping too - maybe call your midwife if you're worried, to get her advice?

santa don't worry, I know you didn't mean it like that! And thanks for all the posifrickintivity everyone. Not long to go before I know either way. Whenever I plan anything for beyond Wednesday morning (ie anything at all, now Wed is so close) I think, but I might be having an erpc then Sad but must TRY not to think like that! Off to find some cake instead to quell my hunger/nausea pangs which ARE a good sign...

Pentagon · 27/08/2013 16:18

anda what a lovely bump!! You look great! You're nearly there, how exciting! All the best for tomorrow and, most importantly, Thursday - you will have 2 lovely babies in 2 days' time! I can't wait for the announcement Smile

welcome bambam&donna and congratulations!

birds, swan all the best for your scans tomorrow!

janie it looks like we have similar tastes - I also love Blur and Suede! And of course Ryan Gosling! Grin

pixie I'm sorry you have this issue with your MIL! I understand her excitement but she has to respect your wishes - if she insists on visiting straight away I would make it clear that she would have to cook and entertain herself (she won't be staying with you, right?) and can visit you at certain times only. I don't understand how people can be so selfish during such special and unique moments in one's life...

jmf and black - I'm sorry about the EDD anniversaries...mine was at the end of March when I was 7-8 weeks pregnant. I was so stressed over the current pregnancy (since EDD coincided with such a critical time) that I didn't have the energy to get upset over the one I lost. I was sad thinking that I could have a baby instead of all this stress but I just briefly mentioned it to family and that was all. At least, I was pregnant again which I was very grateful for

I had a lovely but exhausting bank holiday weekend! I had to entertain DD by myself (DH was doing DIY, the house is a mess with the loft conversion) - we had such a great time together, tiring but fun!

kjh5 · 27/08/2013 16:28

Thanks birds - I do need to stop wallowing around the flat and panicking about silly things. If the cramping gets worse my EPU is 10min down the road so I'll go there - apparently they're lovely and sympathetic.

I think I need to get back to exercising - it helped immensely with the backache and cramping and panic attacks last time. Does anyone here have any advice about good exercises or workouts they've done? I usually do about an hour of moderate to high impact aerobics from various DVDs but don't want to do anything that's not pregnancy appropriate. I tried out the Davina pre natal workout today and even although I'm incredibly unfit after a month of doing nothing it was way too easy - one for the third trimester I think. I'm thinking of signing up for some Pilates classes but need something else to do during the week.

Good luck for everyone who has scans this week. Keeping Fx for you xxx

TeaAndANatter · 27/08/2013 16:29

Chocolate That would be a mature and reasoned response, which may well be 'heard' by MIL and would help the situation greatly. However, it doesn't account for the fact that, on this topic, I have utterly lost any rational thought ability and fantasise about terrible things happening to her like falling off her broomstick. I am officially an awful person! Grin

donnab1983 · 27/08/2013 18:39

Hey bird that's exactly what happened to me with my mmc, Stopped growing at 5 weeks but never found out till 12 week scan, a horrible experience. So we also just had an 8 week scan and everything was fine, but on Sunday and Monday had a brownish discharge which has knocked my confidence a bit, midwife today thought it was probably fine. Counting down the days till next scan now!
Thinking of all you ladies coming up to edd of you mc, I cried most of the day through mine xx

BirdsDoIt · 27/08/2013 18:41

kjh I have definitely found exercise helps, both taking my mind off things for a while and helping me feel better physically. I cycle but I know some people are nervous about that. Swimming is brilliant - and supersafe when pg. Any good outdoor pools near you? i find swimming in the open air cheers me up no end. Pilates is good too but just check with the instructor first. Some places do pg friendly yoga. And i actually spotted pregnancy boxercise classes at our local gym! there are masses of options...

pumpkinsweetie · 27/08/2013 18:44

Impressive bump Anda, ooh it's getting exciting, your little babies will be here thurs not long nowSmile

Teacake you mention mils, and broomsticksGrin, wish mine would fly off and not come back along with the rest of her toxic family. They are not good for my stress levels and cause far too much trouble considering we are non contact!

My baby is becoming very, very active, i can feel somersaults already, must be all that pop i have been consuming! Had a pants day today, took my 4 dc to the beach and ended up in casualty because my 5yo cut her leg home, bless her, all home now and she is all glued up.

BirdsDoIt · 27/08/2013 18:47

donna it's rubbish isn't it. But it's great that you had positive 8 week scan! Hopefully as others have said, the discharge isn't anything to worry about. I know if tomorrow is ok then like you I'll be straight on to fretting ahead of my 12 week scan (booked for 24 Sept - 3 days before edd for first pg, weirdly).

BirdsDoIt · 27/08/2013 18:49

Ooh pumpkin somersaults are good! Hope your little DD is ok.

Forester · 27/08/2013 19:19

Just been spending a while catching up on all the posts as I was away camping over the weekend - so had to forgo MNet.

I've now reached my first milestone of 10 weeks so am now passed the point I had the MMC Smile. Next milestone for me is the scan. But still no date Sad.

Good luck Swangirl and Bird for the scans tomorrow.

donnab1983 · 27/08/2013 19:40

My 12 week one is the 18th so we are less than week apart, lets hope it's a good week birds x

BumpKitty · 27/08/2013 20:51

wow anda that is an impressive bump you've got there! I hope you enjoyed your last day out of hospital. 2 days from now you'll be a mummy!

Bodicea · 27/08/2013 21:13

Anda loving the bump. Feel like I can never winge about mine now!
Cant believe they are coming in two days!!!
