Ok folks, I'm sure it's been done before but I'd like to compile a list of all the magic potions, herbal teas, old wives tales and secret places you've used to get pregnant or you've heard of so that my friends and I over on conception can come and join you over here!

No skimping on the details please and thank you in advance! Grin

A friend (who's a forester) told us that some people hang misteltoe in the bedroom if they are trying to concieve. We had only been trying for 2 months, but thought, "why not?" - was pregnant within a month.
(I don't really believe in these things, but it apparently worked, so...)

Green tea and a holiday!

WantAbabyNOW · 02/08/2006 07:51

Well, no ;luck on the baby asprin idea. Went to three chemists and no one had anything under 100mg. Do you think it matters?

WantAbabyNOW · 02/08/2006 07:51

trace2 · 02/08/2006 08:13

WantAbabyNOW · 02/08/2006 08:18

sequinx · 08/08/2006 12:42

I swear it's in the position. Without being too graphic legs over his shoulder, has worked twice for moi. Good Luck. Get flexible, very difficult when your six months gone!!

redz · 08/08/2006 12:47

Having plenty of sex, but not with a baby on mind just for your pleasure being completely relaxed...candles, wine, favourite music etc.
When I was thinking about getting pregnant it just didnt happen as soon as I just went with the flow a presto! 6weeks untill I meet my bundle of joy.
Good luckx

Started charting as my cycle is pretty irregular - anywhere from 32 to 37 days - and we just couldn't sustain going at it every other day for about two weeks. We'd start off well, then one/both of us would be too tired, or we'd stay up too late watching something on TV.

Charting also reassured me that I was actually ovulating - before that I'd been doubtful as had been ttc for quite a while, and wondered if something might be wrong.

I think it helped me relax about the whole thing - that and the fact we then went on holiday. Conceived while in Turkey - DH convinced it will have a "Made in Turkey" sticker on it when it's born!

Like ggirl, I was on a low carb diet when I got pregnant and wasn't even trying at the time. I am sure this has quite an impact on your hormones if you have PCOS either diagnosed or just a tendancy to it.

First time was after a huge row with DP!

Second time was in the car

I dont know if it makes a difference but both times were the best we've ever had

Tiddler · 09/08/2006 16:53

1Baby1Bump · 09/08/2006 16:54

worked first time i used it!

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 09/08/2006 16:55

My friend swears by egg whites, she used it as a lube as she had heard it helps the sperm swim up and stick.

QueenPeaHead · 09/08/2006 17:01

agnus castus. increased my luteal phase sufficiently (I was using persona) to get pg in 2 months after 4 months of nada

wishingchair · 09/08/2006 17:40

First time on holiday, second time after girlie weekend in Barcelona with the girls (stressing here it happened AFTER the girlie weekend, not DURING ), third time was after lovely lovely day at a spa with a friend.

The lots of sex thing didn't work for us ... too much pressure. Think the common theme with me is not thinking about babies and being totally relaxed. Sex for fun!

mgirl · 09/08/2006 23:37

Charting my cycles is what did it for us!

coggy · 09/08/2006 23:46

Buckeyebird....maybe a daft question but where did you get (and put!!) your natural progesterone cream?

I've got a lpd and I'm VERY interested in anything that can help.
Thanks.

Pee on stick fertility monitor (Clear Blue). Worked after three months. Bit fiddly, but shows when the high fertility 2 days are for irregular monthly cycles like mine.

Assuming this pregnancy goes well I'll put it up for sale in Feb.
