I'm not normally the soppy type but I think it's safe to say I've officially hit 'the crying stage' of pregnancy!

In the last week or so I've ended up in tears over:

  • An advert on TV
  • DP saying something nice to me (even though he's always nice!)
  • Adorable baby clothes in Mothercare
  • About 30 seconds of a TV programme that I hadn't even been watching, whilst flicking through channels
  • Not being able to find a top that I was looking for
  • Photos of cute animals on Facebook (DP came into the room and looked baffled as to why I was so upset. He ended up in fits of laughter when I tearfully explained that I was sad because I couldn't hug the animals...! I have no idea what came over me!)

So, let's cheer each other up - what's the weirdest, stupidest, most random thing you've found yourself crying over whilst pregnant?!

I cried at the start of the Lion King when I was about 3 months pregnant with DS.

It was just so beautiful Grin

gatsby79 · 25/07/2013 16:05

I'm only 9 weeks pregnant but have been affected by this already. Wept buckets at the end of Ghostbusters 2 the other week. The bit where the positive feeling of the usually cynical New Yorkers destroys the negative slime when they all start singing Auld Lang Syne... I'm about to go again! And I've seen this film about 5 times in the past without being affected at all by this. Hormones!

star15 · 25/07/2013 16:19

I have cried because my DP didn't want a MacDonald's, looking at tiles for the bathroom because i thought every tile i liked he hated on purpose.

Kelly1814 · 25/07/2013 16:29

Ghostbusters 2 has really made me chuckle!

I cry all the time at the moment. We're not alone ladies, everyone is at it...britneyofarabia.blogspot.ae/2013/07/crying-over-split-milkand-everything-in.html

perplexedpirate · 25/07/2013 16:30

I'm not pregnant, and I always cry at Ghostbusters 2.

Dildals · 26/07/2013 03:14

After my 20 week scan I had to compulsively go in to every shop that sold baby / children clothes and I would sob over the little bathing suits with strawberries on them, little matching hi-viz jackets (I am having twins) for on their bikes (they're not even born yet, for crying out loud), little shoes etc. Luckily I live in an area that doesn't have a very good selection of shops but I think I would have even gotten in to Argos to weep over water slides. It got better after a couple of days.

Dexidoo · 26/07/2013 07:35

I cried watching CSI last night. To be fair it was the episode where Warrick was killed.

muppetthecow · 26/07/2013 07:42

I had a complete meltdown in the street yesterday when I trod on a snail. A lady actually crossed the street to make sure I was ok! DS just sat in his buggy and giggled while I tried not to die of embarrassment

Sashabella0 · 26/07/2013 07:45

I cried at the news last week that India will no longer be using telegrams!

AllSWornOut · 26/07/2013 07:51

Last pg I cried every time a Phil Collins/Genesis song came on the radio Hmm

This one I haven't felt teary about although I did cry after taking Mum to the airport the other day (she was visiting last week and probably won't visit again until October - I'm due any day now) Sad

BunInMyOven93 · 26/07/2013 08:03

Last night i cried.cause DP dropped his toast on the floor. Proper hysterical crying. I triesd to cover it up with laughter but just ended uo crying more!

EmB1715 · 26/07/2013 08:04

I cried when I dropped a piece of chicken on my dress!

VelvetStrider · 26/07/2013 08:08

A hearse drove past with those letter shaped flower wreaths spelling out the word 'Daddy'.

Most people would be a little bit sad at seeing this. I was bawling in the street! Blush

mumingball · 26/07/2013 09:41

I was about to open a new thread on this...
I'm in the office right now (starting maternity leave in 2 weeks) and I'm really trying hard to push tears back. I guess the reason is it's very warm here and I feel low blood pressure. can't see other reasons.
Since I'm pregnant I started getting moved whenever I saw crowds of people in the telly standing still during the national anthems

Lovemyprincess4eva · 26/07/2013 10:03

I have cried for so many different reasons, I was starting to think I had gone mad.

  • because we had no burgers in the house and I really wanted one
  • because the minions on dispicable me were just so cute and I couldn't have one haha.
  • because DH was nice to me (this is not unusual)
  • because I was tired but couldn't sleep
  • best of all just because I did!! No idea why nothing set me off I just started crying!! This has happened more than once.

People don't tell u about this side of pregnancy do they. It's just left to be a shocking surprise haha. Glad to see its not just me though.

LouisaJF · 26/07/2013 10:12

I actually cried at Emmerdale last night. I officially have a heart of stone, and don't cry at film or TV, and I don't even watch Emmerdale!

LouiseD29 · 26/07/2013 10:20

I posted this on a similar thread recently but I cried the other week because DH, who had offered to make dinner, asked whether I wanted it now or in half an hour. It was just too difficult a decision and I welled up and got all snuffly under the pressure. Ridiculous! He took matters into his own hands, fortunately and got it straight away.

Steffanoid · 26/07/2013 10:23

with my pg it was because I was hungry but really didn't know what I wanted to eat, dp offered to go and get anything I wanted but there was literally nothing I wanted but I was so hungry Sad
in my defence the hunger/not knowing what to eat is quite usual for me, it just doesn't usually end in so many tears.

also in the second week being home with our ds I pointed out that the ceaser advert where the dog follows the man is dead lovely until dp said oh I think it's sad cause they're going to what's obviously his wife's grave, that set me off for about half an hour!

absentmindeddooooodles · 26/07/2013 10:27

I cried hysterically because dp saved me his last ,manky rolo, he kept it in the car for a whole 5 hour drive. Lol

Any inspiring type music set me off

Cried at the shop assistant in tesco as they had run out of mushroom sauce and I couldn't possibly go home without any

Also we had ants in the kitchen, dp put some stuff down to get rid of them....while I spent the afternoon wailing about how ants had feelings too and ehT about their poor families....

I was not too great at bring pregnant. Haha

stillwaters76 · 26/07/2013 10:49

I cried when Tony and Pat sold off their herd on the Archers.

knittingirl · 26/07/2013 10:58

I cried because the shower was the wrong temperature. Actually bawled. I think I scared dh.

Natalieand · 26/07/2013 11:23

I cried cos dh didn't ask me how I was feeling when he got in from work on Sunday and moaned he was hot instead 28+4 xx

TickTockTimesUp · 26/07/2013 11:31

I cried yesterday because my cocopops didn't turn the milk chocolatey...turns out I had actually poured rice crispies but I was hysterical and saying how am I supposed to look after a child when I can't make cereal work Grin

itsliz · 26/07/2013 12:49

Oh I'm so glad I started this thread now, feeling so much less pathetic for getting worked up over stupid things! Grin

Lovemyprincess4eva, your crying episodes sound exactly like mine (I keep begging my DP to come to the cinema with me and watch Despicable Me 2, but I'm scared I'll end up crying for the same reason!)
