I'm not normally the soppy type but I think it's safe to say I've officially hit 'the crying stage' of pregnancy!

In the last week or so I've ended up in tears over:

  • An advert on TV
  • DP saying something nice to me (even though he's always nice!)
  • Adorable baby clothes in Mothercare
  • About 30 seconds of a TV programme that I hadn't even been watching, whilst flicking through channels
  • Not being able to find a top that I was looking for
  • Photos of cute animals on Facebook (DP came into the room and looked baffled as to why I was so upset. He ended up in fits of laughter when I tearfully explained that I was sad because I couldn't hug the animals...! I have no idea what came over me!)

So, let's cheer each other up - what's the weirdest, stupidest, most random thing you've found yourself crying over whilst pregnant?!

Ah the pregnancy tears crop up at the funniest times. There was a John Lewis advert out at Xmas with snowmen that used to set me of bawling! Every time without fail! I also cried at the end of Brave when watching it with my BFs LO! Hysterical! Sometimes I would cry for not reason at all poor DH having to put up with that!

I've just cried because I made beans on toast and I didn't want beans on toast, I wanted soup. I sat there sobbing whilst eating it because I hate wasted food.

I seem to cry about food alotHmm

Um, I cried uncontrollably when my DH bought me a packet of haribos whist paying for petrol at a garage.

He knew I wanted them before I knew I wanted them think he actually wanted them, he got 2 bless him

TickTock I feel your food pain. Early in PG I went to a Toby Carvery and they only had roast potatoes and mash. They didn't have boiled potatoes. I cried... I also realised how ridiculous this was, and ended up laughing at myself, crying at the lack of boiled potatoes (there was no way I was able to eat the other types of potatoes). DH just kind of sat there looking uncomfortable while other people in restaurant kept a wide berth.

More recently, someone at another branch of my work whom i'd never met or spoken to before, said they'd fill some form out for me. I cried at him, said he was lovely. Fortunately my colleagues in my office, were able to explain to him that I was pregnant and nuts, as I was properly crying with how lovely this man (Nigel) was.

I worry for my unborn child sometimes. Hmm
