New thread ladies!

Happy birthday for tomorrow Bod sounds like you have a lovely day lined up!
DH is looking after DS tomorrow so I can go for a trip into York and a mooch round the shops. First stop will be a child free latte in Betty's!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RainbowConnections · 08/08/2013 19:08

In the first week of my maternity leave with DS i went for a pregnant lady massage that some friends treated me to - a perfect start. (i went to Aveda salon/spa if you're London based - bliss).

Lieslvontrapp · 08/08/2013 19:25

So sorry Myrtle that it's ended like this for you. Hope to see you back here soon.

Omni great scan news!

20 hours to go until scan not that its all I can think about at the minute or anything!

jmf294 · 08/08/2013 20:29

Myrtle- thoughts with you, hope you are being well looked after.

Omri- congrats on the scan news

Good luck tomorrow Liesl with your scan.

Pentagon- I'll be having the hooping cough jab too in a few weeks.

I'm still on holiday in Cornwall- and absolutely exhausted doing trips everyday, it's been lovely but tiring. I also have quite a big bump now- it only seems a few weeks ago that I was thinking it isn't growing.
23 weeks today- just 16 to go as I will be having an elective c-sec.
That's pretty scary as I have bought nothing, organised nothing etc!!
I also plan to stop work around 34-35 weeks, I'm starting a new uni course part time in September and I can't face doing it and working until 38 weeks like I had originally planned!!

Love to you all x

BlackholesAndRevelations · 08/08/2013 20:42

Jmf- remind ne how old your two dc are again?! I've been thinking of my mat leave again and I think I'll go off earlier rather than later. My children will still be in nursery 2 days a week so I think it'd be a good idea to use that time to rest/nest/batch cook! I think you'd be very brave going to 38 weeks so don't blame you for finishing earlier. Will you continue with your course?

Good luck for your scan, liesl xxx

jmf294 · 08/08/2013 21:10

My two are 5 (6 in 2 weeks) and 3. They will both be at school fulltime from September.
I have to carry on with the course as its a MBA- dreading working out how it will happen in January as I have to do 5 x 3 day weekends between jan and April and I have never managed to bottle feed my two without them screaming like I am killing them. Will work it out somehow!!

GardenWorm · 08/08/2013 21:33

Continuing on the theme of long time no hear; Thunder???

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 08/08/2013 21:50

I spoke to Thunder yesterday, she was about. No idea about Anda though.
I'm really glad everything is ok Omri. Smile
My Clinic allows my own well behaved children. I'm going to take them exactly to their word and DP and I are taking ours. 17 and 14. They are ours, and they are perfectly behaved.... Hmm Grin

RainbowConnections · 08/08/2013 22:07

Good luck tomorrow Liesl x

andadietcoke · 08/08/2013 23:12

Hi, I'm here. Sorry. I've been reading but not posting - need to catch up properly as am on my phone. Having a bit of an 'oh shit things haven't gone wrong yet and I'm nearly 36w so they must be just about to' time and freaking out. I know that it's because I'm on maternity leave and so have more time on my hands but still... Trying to keep busy, and still haven't got much sorted, but I need a plan. We're in Wales at the caravan at the moment but going home tomorrow as I'd really feel happier closer to home and the hospital. My mum's freaked me out today by buying some jeans in the Asda sale that are age 4 or something ridiculous.

pentagon yes, had the flu jab and the whooping cough. WC I felt slightly feverish after, the flu one was at my booking in so I can't remember. WC isn't an active vaccine, and the flu jab I was very glad I'd had when I got an awful cold - can't imagine having full blown flu when pregnant, although I guess it's not really flu season.

garden scan and mw and consultant on Tuesday. I'm petrified. I want a plan but at the same time don't want to because I'm still in denial everything will be okay, and a plan gives me a deadline and a date.

Pentagon · 09/08/2013 00:19

Many thanks for the feedback ladies! garden, I remembered that someone else had asked about it but didn't know if it was in this thread or the previous one and didn't have time to look for it...sorry for the duplication! Well, your input has certainly helped - I'm definitely having it tomorrow and feel calmer about it. I guess I panicked because I didn't have any vaccinations while pregnant with DD.

liesl good luck with your scan tomorrow!

anda and jmf, I hope you're enjoying your holidays! anda I also panicked after starting my maternity leave last time (all that extra time to think about things...) so try to keep busy and distract yourself. When the babies arrive you'll have no time to yourself so try to enjoy being at home and being able to do things you like (easier said than done, I know - when people told me to enjoy it I was like "I can't and don't care, all I want is to have my baby and know that everything is OK") but honestly, I regretted it afterwards. x

GardenWorm · 09/08/2013 07:27

Glad Thunder's ok - ta Saggy (love that you are taking your teens! Would be even funnier if they went all 'Kevin & Perry' in there Grin

Pentagon didn't mean to sound funny saying I'd asked before (if I did!), just a genuine interest Smile

Anda I remember that feeling of tap, tap, tapping the fingers and 'oh shit' it is going to happen! I agree with Pentagon, if you can try and do something simple that you really love and probably take for granted (read a trashy magazine, paint your nails, go to a coffe shop) because once your bundles appear you probably won't get the chance for another 18 years! Lol! And eeeeek to plans, deadlines, and dates but you never know they may be plans, deadlines and dates that you are surprised by and make you very happy. And well done you for getting to 36 weeks - pretty flippin good going for twins! X

GardenWorm · 09/08/2013 07:28

Good luck Liesl x

BlackholesAndRevelations · 09/08/2013 07:45

36 weeks is GREAT, Anda! it's all getting very real now, can understand your fear. Have you nested and batch cooked yet?! Yes you really really should be resting but if you can't (and I couldn't) then fill your freezer or sort a kitchen cupboard or something! Hehe. Take care xx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/08/2013 08:24

Oh crap! or lack of
I had soup last night with almost half a tiger loaf! Blush I hve cramps from hell this morning! And I have to go to work soon too! Sad

RainbowConnections · 09/08/2013 08:27

Morning. First scan today - have a good feeling about this time.
DH is off work to look after DS so we'll be able to have a nice day out afterwards.

How exciting to be at 36 wks Anda! Hope you get some rest.

I've been drinking lots of smoothie to help with similar prob Saggy!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/08/2013 08:39

Oh GOD! I'm in agony!

RainbowConnections · 09/08/2013 08:49

Oh dear Saggy sorry re smoothie comment. Can you call GP or midwife for advice?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/08/2013 09:00

Don't worry! It's my own fault for being a pig! It's easing a bit now. It's purely bread related! It's too high to be the baby.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 09/08/2013 09:01

Ouch saggy! Down some hot water- usually works for me though pregnancy blocks me up like nothing else!

Good luck for the scan rainbow- a good bit of posifrickintivity there! Grin

RainbowConnections · 09/08/2013 09:02

Glad its easing. Stay away from the tiger loaf!

Pixielady83 · 09/08/2013 09:06

Good luck liesel and rainbow for today I really hope your scans go well.

anda that's amazing you have got to 36 weeks. I hope you feel a bit calmer when you get home.

Off on a children's sports day and picnic to our local park this morning and DD is insistent on wearing a party dress Hmm and it has only just stopped raining so it is going to be so slippery! Not ideal. Got MIL arriving today, staying nearby in a hotel thankfully this after we said we were too busy for a visit in August...

Hope everyone has nice weekends planned Smile

LuckySocks13 · 09/08/2013 10:29

Lol pixie at the party dress. Maybe add some wellies!
Good luck liesel and rainbow for your scans. Positive vibes winging your way.
Ouchy saggy! These things seem a good idea at the time don't they. As Blackholes said some warm water should get things moving!
I'm so very tired today. Nearly 25 weeks! Big eeeekkk! Glad have a day off work although DS is in a very bad and tantrummy mood for some reason. I had my 2nd session of HypnoBirthing this week. Have really found it has helped me connect with new baby as I was just kind of avoiding it all before. Thinking of having a home water birth now. Anyone had one of these?

Pentagon · 09/08/2013 12:23

rainbow good luck to you too today!!

garden you didn't sound funny at all, I just didn't want to ignore what you said Smile

saggy I hope you're a bit better now

lucky your hypnobirthing sessions sound brilliant, glad they've helped you connect with the baby! I'd love to have a water birth (not at home though, I feel safer at the hospital), couldn't last time (UTI, temperature) so maybe with this one if all goes well

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 09/08/2013 13:19

OMG! I have just given birth to a poo baby! Confused Grin
Good luck everyone with appointments today. Xx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 09/08/2013 14:30

Haha saggy congrats on the birth if your poo!!! GrinGrinGrin

Lucky I'm glad to hear the hypnotic thing classes are going well :)

Sorry on phone, will read properly later xx
