New thread ladies!

Happy birthday for tomorrow Bod sounds like you have a lovely day lined up!
DH is looking after DS tomorrow so I can go for a trip into York and a mooch round the shops. First stop will be a child free latte in Betty's!

Hi ladies! I've just had about four pages to catch up on so really sorry for my rubbish memory if i forget anyone!

Welcome motorcycle- I can't imagine the level of fear with ivf but congratulations and fingers crossed that all goes brilliantly. My dp is a Neil young fan too- went to see him recently and I was AMAZED at how well he managed to perform given that he's about 70 isn't he?!

Thank you all so so much for the scan congrats- was utterly convinced there was going to be something wrong! Congrats too, booty and pixie Grin I'm still a bit nervous for some bizarre reason- thought I'd announce on fb but still haven't. Maybe i will today... Hmm! However I am going to go and look at the bedding i fell in love with in mothercare Grin

Pink- I hope your piercing turns up! (somewhere other than down the loo!) Grin

Hi to everyone and sorry again if I've missed anyone!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 07/08/2013 08:10

Ps I saw my tummy move yesterday! Baby was going mental. Maybe he/she was excited about the scan! Cue me googling to see if it was normal for that level of kucking at only 20 weeks... Hmm

BlackholesAndRevelations · 07/08/2013 08:10

Not yesterday- Monday morning I mean x

ChristineDaae · 07/08/2013 08:14

Thanks all. Garden - bleeding v heavily at 14 weeks, they told us we would likely lose her. Then spotting on and off until 20odd weeks woth terrible cramps. 20 week scan showed markers which indicated some horrible syndromes/conditions, most of which meant she wouldn't make it to term, and if by chance she did she wouldn't live past 5 days Sadit was not exactly a fun pregnancy. As I get less scared about losing this one, I get more scared if a repeat of what happened with her.
She was completely fine by the way and is a totally neatly 3yr old now.

ChristineDaae · 07/08/2013 08:16

Ohh pink! Have you checked your bed? I would say its likely you swallowed the ball but would be hard to swallow the bar and not notice? Maybe you swallowed the ball and the bar fell out?

RainbowConnections · 07/08/2013 08:25

Congrats on all the scans yesterday. How lovely to see your babies little face so clearly Bodicea.

Omri how you are today?

Motorcyclemama welcome.

Christine that sounds terrible. Glad your DD is fine.

Hope todays appts go well.

I have a lovely lazy free day, DS spending day with grandparents.

RainbowConnections · 07/08/2013 08:27

baby's not babies, sorry!
Really should read messages over before posting.

Pentagon · 07/08/2013 09:15

motor welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy! I can imagine the anxiety, the first trimester is nerve-racking, isn't it? I didn't feel very sociable but tried to keep myself busy, especially with books and films (which helped me escape reality for a while). I hope you have a nice, uneventful pregnancy!

bod sounds like a lovely 3D scan (some can look a bit weird, no? I've never had one though so don't have first-hand experience)

garden how cute that your DD spent 15 min talking to baby! Mine is completely ignoring my bump at the moment but we went to see a friend with a new baby at the weekend and DD was really sweet and attentive - I'm hoping she'll be the same with ours...

christine I hope your appointment goes well today! Sorry you had such a stressful pregnancy last time, this one hasn't been so eventful so far, has it? Fingers crossed it continues this way!

omri how are you feeling? No more bleeds I hope.

black yay for seeing the bump move! I love it when this happens - a bit freaky (in an Alien sort of way) but so amazing!

DH, DD and I are going to the David Bowie exhibition at the V&A tonight. A bit anxious about how DD behaves, it seemed like a good idea to bring her along when we booked the tickets, I hope she doesn't prove me wrong!!

omri · 07/08/2013 09:29

Morning all! Lovely warm sunny morning where I am which has helped my mood. No bleed since yesterday so hopefully it was a random once off. Have first scan tmrw so will know more then.

Just want to say thanks for all the positivity and support. You really are a lovely lot of ladies Smile

BirdsDoIt · 07/08/2013 09:59

Morning ladies. Just checking in to say had a good chat with DH last night and explained how I've been feeling - promised I wouldn't blather on about it the whole time to him, but that if he could mention it (say) once a week, that'd be nice. He did actually manage to say something about it later that evening and it did make me feel hugely better. Such little things make such a difference...thanks so much to everyone for your advice and putting up with me moaning! Everything feels a bit more back in perspective now.

All these kicking babies! Amazing. I dream of that...bod how wonderful to see your baby's face, so cute.

christine your first pg sounds super stressful. Some times I think maybe without all these late scans or tests there would be less anxiety (though maybe not...) hopefully this pg will be beautifully uneventful.

In other news I have decided to stop temping (which I was doing to make sure my temp stayed high - paranoia essentially) after a ridiculous incident when I woke up at 1am, thought it was 5.30am, and fully woke myself and DH up with all the beeping. And last night had a blissfully uninterrupted night's sleep Smile

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 07/08/2013 10:08

Good luck for tomorrow Omri. I am sure everything will be just fine.
Christine how awful. I would have been scared to death! Thank God that your lovely DD is all fine now. X
Black that's funny! I can remember mad movements, its freaky, but nice! I used to spend hours prodding my bump to make them perform! Grin I'm so looking forward to that stage! It's going to be aaaages!
The backache has gone but I'm quite crampy this morning. I'm going to chug some lactulose and see if that helps! Blush

GardenWorm · 07/08/2013 10:44

Myrtle have you got your scan today or tomorrow?

Christine that PG sounds horrific, you poor thing, no wonder you are so worried. I hope you never have to go through anything like that again x

Pentagon yeah it's cute....although she does throw her doll down the stairs!

Saggy having a pooh was my mums answer to everything! Hope the lactulose works a treat!

shellsocks · 07/08/2013 13:32

Hi motorcylcemama Yes I?m a massive NY fan, went to see him in Newcastle in June and am going again next weekend in Liverpool?can?t wait Smile Don?t often meet a fellow fan!

Congrats on the scan bod very cute! DS was predicted 9.8lb and was 8.8lb so still big, but not scarily so!

That sounds so tough Christine but fantastic your DD is fine?hope everything goes smoothly this time, you deserve it!

Glad there is no more bleeding omri Smile

No news here, time is marching on still and PGP is getting quite bad now too which is a bummer! Took DS the zoo yesterday and was practically immobile in the evening Sad Getting excited about the 4D scan next weekend tho, the one we had with DS looked just like him so it feels like we are getting to meet the baby early Grin

MotorcycleMama · 07/08/2013 13:35

Forgive the lack of personals - I'll read back later.
This morning I have period-pain type cramps, and a very small amount of light brown discharge/spotting. Very frightened. I'm 8+2 today.
On my way to 1st appt with midwife, so dearly hoping she will suggest I have a scan.
Anybody else had AF type cramps at this stage?

shellsocks · 07/08/2013 14:34

I'm pretty sure nearly all of us had scary cramps in the early stages and a lot of people have had spotting and bleeding and things of been ok.

I know how scary it is so I hope your MW refers you for a scan ASAP x

RainbowConnections · 07/08/2013 14:41

Motor sorry that must be worrying for you. Cramps and spotting don't necessarily mean anything but i know that probably doesn't help. Hope the midwife is helpful. x

pumpkinsweetie · 07/08/2013 14:42

My local hospital really takes the biscuit. It is a well equipted hospital, and i had all my other dc scans there aswell as my 12 week one with this pregnancy. Well i have waited and waited for my 20wk scan appointment and today i get a phonecall expecting me to travel 47miles to another hospital for it!!! I don't drive and i have four kids with me as dh would have been at work and the appointment was for a Sunday. I said sorry but not on your nelly, not only would i have had to find a babysitter but i also would have had to get a train then a bus to even get there at a ridiculous time of 9:30 am!!! Woman was rude and said she will have to notedown i have been offered an appointment but i have refused so my local hospital will have to slot me in.

Swangirl · 07/08/2013 14:47

I have had AF type cramps during this pregnancy everything is okay so far
I am only 9 weeks I find them scary I keep running to the loo knicker checking very time I get those cramps

ChristineDaae · 07/08/2013 14:55

Ormi and motor fingers crossed everything ok for you both.
Myrtle - when is your next scan?
Appt went well, docs answered all my questions and everything was the answer I was hoping for. Bit of a heart in mouth moment as it took him a good minute to find the heartbeat, but turns out baby was lying really low down and he found a nice strong heartbeat in the end. So far so good! Now a few weeks to act positive before the 20wk scan doom sets in! Grin

Rockchick1984 · 07/08/2013 14:59

Pumpkin why on earth can't they offer you an appointment at your local hospital???

Motor not had spotting however I have been having AF-style cramps. Was worrying until both my mum and DH pointed out that they remembered me having them and worrying when I had DS! Hope you get your scan.

pumpkinsweetie · 07/08/2013 15:01

Rockchick i have absolutely no idea tbh, probably something to with the nhs slowly going down the panConfused

omri fx everything is ok for you, bleeding isn't always bad news xx

murytle got my fx for you too when you have your scan xx

Pixielady83 · 07/08/2013 16:30

motor sorry to hear about your spotting but sure it will be ok, I've had a lot of cramps this time and remember being told when pg with DD it was normal. Hope you're feeling a bit calmer.

omri great news no more bleeding, really hope your scan tomorrow goes well.

shell poor you with PGP its horrible isn't it. I found heated wheat bags helped soothe in the evenings when I was aching last time.

Lovely to hear about fluttering and kicking bubbas Smile I never saw little feet kicking last time as DD was breech, hope I do this time!

Pixielady83 · 07/08/2013 16:31

oh and forgot to say pumpkin that's crazy to try and send you that far! Shock are you very remote? can't believe they expected you just to go along with that!

Pixielady83 · 07/08/2013 17:03

Here is an interesting dilemma ladies... my perfect job has come up near to home. It would be a promotion but I meet all essential requirements... I'm going to apply, and hopefully will get an interview. But at what point would you say you were pregnant? at interview or only if they offered the job? If I did get it I would have to work out 3 months notice at my current job which would mean I would be 18 wks before I could start new job... It is not an ideal way to go for a job but these positions come up once every couple of years and I really can't not go for it!

I suppose a further complication would be then requesting part time also if I was successful... Confused anyone got experience of this?
