Ah saggy I cross posted with you, so pleased your scan is all good!

BirdsDoIt · 06/08/2013 09:46

Woo hoo! saggy that's awesome news! I'm so happy for you!

BirdsDoIt · 06/08/2013 10:08

pixie stay strong, not long to go now. Keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you. Maybe it actually is worth saying something to the sonographer to deflect stupid comments this time round - if i get that far, I know I'll be telling them I'm v nervous and had a mmc last time so that noone puts their foot in it unnecessarily.

And thanks for saying that about your DH - glad I'm not alone in getting increasingly irate about his distance from the whole thing. Though you're right, I'm trying to stay more disengaged this time too (and THAT's going brilliantly as you can tell!!)

BumpKitty · 06/08/2013 10:17

Hi all, great to see such a lot of good scan news, saggy that was an early scan! Brilliant news that all is looking good.

birds it is definitely less real for the men, also he may be trying to not upset you - maybe have a chat with him, say something like you would like to talk about how you feel every now and again and see how he responds.

pixie how bloody ridiculous to tell you to stop crying, stupid arses! By all means tell them you got bad news last time and you are very anxious, but remember the scan doom means nothing!

Pentagon · 06/08/2013 10:58

Congratulations blackholes, booty and saggy! Wonderful news, so happy for you!

pixie good luck, I have my fingers crossed for you! And Lucky I hope your 25 week appointment goes well today (I'm sure it will)

gary glad you're sticking around! How are things at home?

Rockchick1984 · 06/08/2013 11:11

Made up for you Saggy!!! How far along are you now?

Gary does baby have a name yet?

Pixie I think its completely normal to have the scan doom, but remember that today you are pregnant, worry about tomorrow when you get there!

Lots of aches and pains today but nothing bad enough to consider painkillers for so assuming its things stretching - am 10 weeks today and as its baby 2 I think my uterus will pop a bit sooner than the 12 week mark trying to be positive so could be that?

RainbowConnections · 06/08/2013 12:07

Fantastic Saggy and Booty
Fingers crossed for you Pixielady?

Birds i think men do deal with it differently. My DH is really similar. Its why I have found MN so great. But do try and talk about it, because its lonely for you to worry by yourself in RL. DH and i have had a few tough tearful conversations about this over last few months and we're much better for it. Do remember though sleep deprivation makes everything seem so much worse.

I've just been cuddling a friends very little smiley baby. Very lovely.

RainbowConnections · 06/08/2013 12:08

Sorry Pixielady, that wasn't a question.

GuffSmuggler · 06/08/2013 12:53

Fantastic news saggy! Grin

IBelieveInPink · 06/08/2013 12:55

Oh saggy I'm so chuffed for you..... Yay!

Okay, it anyone would like a giggle, please read my latest drama.
So, I have my tongue pierced. Had it done years ago, never taken it out. Last night I had a weird dream tht I took the piercing out and put it somewhere... No idea where. Woke up, and it was gone! So..... Question is... Did I eat it?

I also have my 25 week appointment today. I'm going to have to check it won't harm anything arent. Oh god, I'm going to be the weird person the midwife goes home an says.... 'you won't believe what I had today.....'. Damnit.

Pixielady83 · 06/08/2013 13:07

Tentative good news... found baby and heartbeat, measuring 4 days behind dates though so got to go back in 3 1/2 wks for 12wks dating scan. Can't quite believe it and bit worried about being behind dates but good news to see a hb. It was so tiny I find it kind of hard to believe but sonographer gave plenty of reassurance.

DH just gone out to buy me peanut m&ms to celebrate Grin I know you're not meant to have peanuts when pg but I just can't get enough of choc peanut combinations at the mo!

Pixielady83 · 06/08/2013 13:09

pink I can't wait to hear about the expression on your midwife's face when you tell her that! Grin

Pentagon · 06/08/2013 13:11

ibip that is so spooky - and funny Grin Can't believe it disappeared!! Even if you have eaten it, I think you'll be alright! Good luck with your appointment!

omri · 06/08/2013 13:14

Saggy- great news thanks for letting us know.

Pixie I also have scan doom. Scheduled for Thursday morn at 11am will be first scan. I am 7 wks today and just been to loo and had tiny tiny little bleed. Quite freaked out by that. Maybe it's an implantation bleed does that happen around 7 weeks???? Want to go home to bed and hide under the covers :(

Any posifrickintivity please send this way! Feeling the negafrickintivity over here this morn.

New pregnancy craving discovered: eating your own tongue piercing Wink

omri · 06/08/2013 13:17

Pixie so glad your scan went well- heartbeat is really what you want to see. So what dates did you get? Yay you had scan doom but it went well! Gives me the hope I need!!

Pixielady83 · 06/08/2013 13:18

omri sending waves of posifrickingtivity your way... if it was only a teeny tiny bleed hopefully all will be well. Hope you've got lots on to distract you until Thursday, and will keep fingers crossed all will be well for you xx

Pixielady83 · 06/08/2013 13:20

Oops just cross posted with you! they've put me at 9+4 now tbc at next scan in 3 weeks. More waiting but still such a relief so see that tiny flicker Smile

Pentagon · 06/08/2013 13:21

pixie yay! I don't think 4 days is anything to worry about (easier said than done, I know!) - I had 2 scans at 12+ weeks (one private, one NHS) - I was 13 weeks in one and 13w 2d in the other - and that was in the space of 16 hrs. If your dates were 2 weeks out it would be a bit alarming (even though I know of women who've had that in early scans and everything was absolutely fine, their dates were put forward at the 12 week scan) but it's only half a week - so congratulations!!!

P.S.: I thought you're allowed to eat peanuts according to the latest guidelines - unless the mum or dad have an allergy...but I could wrong

IBelieveInPink · 06/08/2013 13:22

Pixie - great news. And don't worry about the dates. My early scan they put me back 5 days, and then moved me ahead 1 day (6days different from early scan) at my 12 week. Really, don't worry. Babies just grow at slightly different rates x

Pixielady83 · 06/08/2013 13:27

Thanks ladies Smile that makes me feel better! With DD the dates were bang on so not experienced variation before.

pentagon yay good news about peanuts!

Pentagon · 06/08/2013 13:28

omri, I had brown/pink blood 5-7 weeks last time, 5-6 weeks with this pregnancy. My GP didn't describe it as implantation bleeding but more like residual bleeding due to the cervix closing (or something along those lines). But I know that even the tiniest spotting can cause alarm - I hope you can hold out till Thursday morning (fingers crossed you don't see any more blood) x

BirdsDoIt · 06/08/2013 14:00

pixie yay that's awesome news! Brilliant!

pink do you think you might have sleepwalked, taken it out and put it somewhere??!

omri keeping fingers crossed for you. Scary isn't it - I am obsessively knicker checking at the mo - but even if you do have more bleeding it doesn't necessarily mean the worst. One of my friends had a bleed at 9 weeks, completely freaked out, but it wasn't anything worrying and she's now 30-odd weeks pregnant. Good you've got a scan on Thurs - not long to wait for some reassurance, fingers crossed.

rainbow you're right, I'll try and speak to DH about it tonight. If I keep these worries bottled up much longer I'm going to explode! Thank goodness for mumsnet.

GuffSmuggler · 06/08/2013 15:13

pixie they reversed the peanut guidelines and say you should eat them now as abstaining might cause allergy! (and they wonder why PG women get confused) Which is good news for my peanut butter sandwiches Smile

GardenWorm · 06/08/2013 15:56

Whoop! Saggy & Pixie

Pixie in the same scan my dates changed by 4! Think it depends on whether they get a good angle Smile

Ooops Pink sounds like you've ate it! You will have to put the rubber gloves on and search at the other end - it will be a nice momento for DD Grin

Pixielady83 · 06/08/2013 17:04

The sonographer did tell me my bladder was a bit too full so wonder if that made a difference getting the measurement. Felt a bit Blush but didn't need the loo while I was waiting so drank more and then it all hit me!
