Argh! * uncertainty

pumpkinsweetie · 31/07/2013 21:32

Keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow mutyrel xx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 31/07/2013 22:00

aw gary that's just the best news!! huge congratulations to mr&mrs and mini and mini-er gary :) glad it was quick for you! hope you're having loads of yummy snuggles! xx

myrtle i have everything crossed for you tomorrow, hope you don't have to wait too much longer for answers xx

so i did ring the midwife this morning to ask about movements. she seemed happy enough that i had felt some movements last night and had no bleeding or big gushes as if to suggest waters (this early eek?). she advised that everyone is different in what you would feel and how often, but advised me to have a really cold sugary drink (coke) and lie on my left hand side for 2hrs and concentrate completely on what i felt. and yup every 20 minutes or so there were some good kicks so i think everything is ok :)

GuffSmuggler · 31/07/2013 22:05

Sorry I didn't mean to start a 'what's wrong with me' thing.

We are trying to buy a house at the moment and they keep threatening to pull out and we have to be out our rented accommodation in a few weeks and have nowhere to go.

I'm also so anxious waiting for my 12 week scan, I still don't have the appointment but have chased the dr so hopefully it will come soon. Just feel like I'm buckling under the pressure of worrying about everything at the moment.

I'll be ok though, am taking lots of positive vibes from here and is good to here about people coming through this journey and out the other side.

Thinking of you tomorrow myrtle

IBelieveInPink · 31/07/2013 22:10

Aw Janie - well done. Bet you felt better just that you had done the right thing? Glad all is okay, and baby has got its wriggle on.

Myrtle - thinking of you tomorrow.

Guff - sounds like a right drama! You don't need people causing you extra stress at the moment do you. Poor love. You will look back on this at some point in the future with fond(ish) memories. X

Chocolateteabag · 31/07/2013 23:10

Congratulations Gary !!! Very much a sneeze birth (though I'm sure not to you!) please do post on how DS1 takes to GaryJnr as I'm starting to worry a bit about my errant toddler liking his new brother

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow Myrtle - really hope it's good news.

Guff - sending some Posifrickingtivity your way as sounds like it's needed. Been in a similar situation when selling our last house and trying to find somewhere to rent last minute. At one point thought we might have to put everything into storage and sleep in a friends spare room for a while, was a bit stressy but ok in the end. And makes you evaluate what you have/ need when you have to think about paying to store it all.

Congratulation Gary- what lovely news.
Please let us know his name when you have decided.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Myrtle and hoping for good news.

Fingers crossed for your house Guff.

I've been AWOL from the thread for the past week- just really busy with work and exhausted at the weekend. But doing ok. The weeks are certainly ticking by fast!!

GardenWorm · 01/08/2013 05:52

Good Luck today Myrtle, thinking of you xxx

LuckySocks13 · 01/08/2013 07:16

Good luck today myrtle. Praying for positive news x

Rockchick1984 · 01/08/2013 07:46

Good luck Myrtle hope everything goes well today.

Guff that sounds like a nightmare - why are they threatening to pull out??? Not happened to me (I bought a new build as first time buyers) but I have seen friends go through it and never seen any of them not get it sorted by moving day so fingers crossed u don't break that record :) My scan is 22nd Aug so hopefully no need to panic about lack of scan date yet, yours should be around the same time.

If all goes well at 12 week scan I'm booking a gender scan for 17 weeks - it'll be my wedding anniversary so thought that would be a nice time to find out what flavour we are having, and gives me some reassurance before the 20 week scan See? Posifrikintivity!!

Swangirl · 01/08/2013 09:15

Namechanged I was Postmanpatandhisblackandwhitecat
Congratulations Gary on the arrival of Gary Jr
Thinking of you Myrtle hope all goes well today
I have my 12 week scan on 28 August

omri · 01/08/2013 09:42

Good luck today myrtle.

Going in to work very late every morn this week (on train now- should be in at 9!) soooo sick this morn. I seem to throw up for an hour every morning at 8.30! Exactly the time I need to leave the house. Ugh feel so sick Hmmanyone else suffer badly from morning sickness?

Pixielady83 · 01/08/2013 09:48

Hi ladies, I have sadly neglected this new thread, sorry! had a fab week away in Northumbria followed by manic week at work.

myrtle thinking of you today. hope all goes well.

gary congratulations! Thanks what a brilliant birth. well done you! hope you're having a gorgeous time babymooning and that ds1 comes round soon Wink

guff good luck with the house stuff. It's horribly stressful Sad

So I am on scan countdown. 5 days to go. Symptoms are still much less bad than last time, very tired by end of day but sickness just background and not as constant. having said that, I am going to bed early and getting good night's sleep compared to last pregnancy when DD1 was waking 3 times + a night so maybe that is making it better. how do other 9 wkrs feel?

In a way I can't believe it will be ok. I'm quite calm, although won't be on Tuesday morning but my head just won't let me believe it can work when I felt so pregnant (well, ill) last time and the baby had gone weeks before.

However I have a busy weekend planned with visiting friends so that'll be a good distraction. I've also found a shiny campervan that is 25 yrs younger than our last one and nearly affordable so I'm putting a lot of time and effort into trying to persuade DH we should buy it Grin much aided by the car breaking down twice in the last week.

Happy nearly weekend all xx

Pixielady83 · 01/08/2013 09:57

Oh and forgot to say DD1 2.5 told me this morning we had two babies but we had to wait for them to grow. Toddler babble or intuition?! No one knows apart from me and DH and 2 friends that we are pg and we haven't spoken about it to her or around her. Would love to believe she was tapped into something on another level (that sounds a bit weird but you know...!)

BlackholesAndRevelations · 01/08/2013 10:24

Wow, pixie lady, that's amazing! My friend's DD told her she had a baby in her tummy when she was 6 weeks and hadn't told anyone but her dh. Would be so exciting if she was right! My 3 yo dd has told me it's a boy and has named him Henry!

Hopefully all is well in there anyway x

Pixielady83 · 01/08/2013 11:11

aww that's lovely blackholes! Henry is a nice name too! who knows eh, although no family history of twins so v unlikely. I love the whole 'we have to wait for them to grow' thing though, she was so serious when she told me Smile

omri hugs, that sounds like bad sickness. I've only ever had nausea in my pregnancies but found eating a little continuously and drinking lots helps. cheese thins are my friend at the moment Grin

Pentagon · 01/08/2013 11:38

gary many many congratutions to you and your family! Welcome to the world baby gary!! I'm envious of your quick labour, mine lasted 3 days last time...I hope you're back home now, enjoying your new baby! I hope DS1 gets excited soon, let us know how you get on when you get the chance!

myrtle good luck today, I hope it's good news!

guff sorry to hear you're under so much stress - fingers crossed everything works out with the house and you have you 12-week scan date very soon (maybe they can tell you over the phone before they get round to posting the letter? but I guess you're not in contact with the hospital...unless you have a letter from your previous pregnancy - if you're in the same area - and can give them a call directly)

pixie your current symptoms sound like what I've had earlier in this pregnancy (27 weeks today) - and our miscarriages sound similar, I also felt really ill last time till about 12 weeks whilst things had gone wrong at 7.5 weeks apparently ;-( Chances are everything is OK this time, I hope you're managing to keep positive and scan doom hasn't descended yet! (well, let's hope you don't get it at all). Wow, spooky what your DD1 said!!

maybemyrtle · 01/08/2013 12:08

Oh guff that's so unsettling. Really hope you get the scan date soon and the sellers sort themselves out! Sending you positive vibes x

Janie glad you felt kicks. The power of cold sugary drinks, who knew?! This thread is a mine of information!

omri sorry that you're suffering so much with ms. No advice at all sorry but hope it passes soon.

Pixie good luck for the scan and oooh @ DD1!! How cool if she's right! :)

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. Flowers
Been to EPU this morning and the sonographer saw a sac this time, and a thickened lining!!! But sac only measured 3-4 weeks, which doesn't match dates. Also - and I'm quite angry about this - after the laparoscopy, on Fri morning they took bloods and tested hcg. I asked at the time and they said they were only looking at haemoglobin(sp?) levels not hcg. My hcg on Friday had fallen from 7300 on Weds to 6000 on Fri. I know the hcg results take about 3 hrs to come through so they would easily have been available before I was discharged on Fri eve. Nobody told me when I was discharged, I spoke to the consultant on Tues, nobody said until today. If I'd have known on Friday that hcg was dropping I'd not have been in limbo for the past week. :( It is what it is and it doesn't change anything, but twins were suggested as a possibility on Fri and despite everything, I was still hopeful... :( Need to call this afternoon for today's hcg result. Taking the rest of the day off - ha, as if I've done anything today anyway...

Have a better day everyone xx

BlackholesAndRevelations · 01/08/2013 12:20

Oh myrtle Sad I'm so sorry. Totally shocking that they didn't tell you about the hcg. Hugs xxxx

GaryBuseysTeeth · 01/08/2013 12:25

Flowers Myrtle, I'm so sorry they left you in limbo all that time. Fingers crossed for you getting the results quickly this afternoon. xx

Pixie, that's spooky! Eeek, if she's right that would amazing.
Campervan sounds amazing, I think you should buy it

Omri, sorry to hear your sickness is so bad (and making you late for work).

Fingers crossed for your house move Guff, sounds like far too much extra stress on you. x

DS1 shakes his head & says 'No' whenever I show him/hold/feed DS2. We're taking him out this afternoon (once DH comes back from work) & PIL will look after DS2, hopefully alone time with us will help him feel better.
Feeling so much more human than I did after DS1's birth, blaming that on the sneeze birth...much more positive experience than 2& half days of failed inductions followed by a 14hr labour. Hmm

GuffSmuggler · 01/08/2013 12:50

That's rubbish myrtle you've been getting such different messages from different drs, I'm so sorry you've been put through this Sad Just try and look after yourself, it is such an unsettling time and you need to be able to move on and process everything.

Thanks for all the kind words, by some act of divine intervention I got my 12 week scan letter today, horrah! 20th August, so only 2 and half long weeks to wait. Will try my upmost to remain calm until then Confused

Pixielady83 · 01/08/2013 13:09

Thanks myrtle so sorry to hear that. I can't believe they didn't tell you about the hcg. Sad

Rockchick1984 · 01/08/2013 13:57

So sorry Myrtle

maybemyrtle · 01/08/2013 14:59

Waaaah! Ok i'm going to have to stop posting here but to update, I have to go for another scan and bloods in another week's time - hcg only dropped by about 250 since last Fri and is sitting at 5700ish. They won't perform any intervention until they can confirm the sac hasn't grown and hcg has continued to drop.

On the plus side, lovely weather today! Went for a little paddle in the sea with DP to cool off and de-stress. Hope everyone's making the most of the sunshine xx

GardenWorm · 01/08/2013 15:17

Oh Myrtle your situation sounds terrible. It's appalling the way you have been treated, if you feel up to it you should complain. Another week of waiting is rubbish. I'm so sorry, wish I could take some of it away for you. Hope you have lots of support in real life. Big hugs xxx
