anda Do they have distinct personalities already - I guess you can tell them apart? Are they identical? This may be a stupid q - I don't know if you know this before birth?!? Exciting times anyway! Grin

Thanks LS Flowers

Must be a day for meltdowns! I had a panic earlier - weird cramps, and then felt 'damp' downstairs - sent me running to knicker check! Weird as I have been quite good recently, but today something just feels scary. Hoping it will pass quickly!
Anyone else getting impatient? November seems like forever away! Long time to wait!!!

omri · 31/07/2013 14:22

thanks ladies for all your helpful replies. I was having a bit of a panic attack last night when checking the bank account online. eeekk!! but I know i will be ok - so dp comes home this weekend - tell him the good news then next day sit down and do our sums and see how we can cut back.
JBrd - dp has been searching for jobs for long time now but no avail. he always seems to get pipped at the post too - making it to final 3. grr. i feel really sorry for him. he is being a brilliant sahd and our gorgeous happy well behaved toddler is a credit to him but he gets v depressed at his lack of career.
but i remember when pregnant with DS1 i was freaking out about money then too and we survived. (although had 3 times more saved and dp was working aaarggghh- and breathe....)

anyway good tips here and really i just need to do my sums and get rid of all the little luxuries to cut down on bills. thanks for listening and taking time to respond. you girls are awesome!!!!

so... where's gary?!! fingers crossed all has gone well and she is too busy cuddling her newborn to get online :)

GardenWorm · 31/07/2013 15:31

Hey Omri SAHD is a full time job - all credit to him and although he may get down being careerless(sp?) at the moment, he is a very very lucky man who will have an amazing bond with his children that lots of men miss out on. I'm sure in the future when he has a boring job like everyone else career he will be able to look back on this time and appreciate it fully. Smile

Myrtle sorry wrong day but I will be thinking about you still x

omri · 31/07/2013 16:52

Thanks GardenWorm. Thats what i keep telling him - when he is 60 years old he wont regret having had, say, 2 years at home with his gorgeous baby son - they have an amazing bond :)
have to look at the bright side. He finds that hard. Feels a bit pathetic (his words not mine!).

GaryBuseysTeeth · 31/07/2013 17:51

Gary Jr arrived yesterday morning, we've just got home (will read thread in a little bit, just going to 'mememe' post first);

They were short staffed (and heavy on labouring women!) on Monday night, so they sent DH home in the wee hours...only 15mins later they found a room on labour ward so I had to call him back in (MW1 suggested this could wait until they had inserted first gel).
MW1 did the pre-induction gel casual check up my Garycave to find I was already 3cm gone, so she just knitting needled my waters away.
Waters went gush, asked DH to put my TENS machine on (me, not him!) as I was experiencing 'discomforts', MW1 went on her break, had MW2 in as cover in & felt the urge for drugs, was given Gas & Air (and promised heroin later on) & started pushing, MW2 pulled a Shock face & started running about (I didn't have my nameband on, let alone the IV antibiotics drip they wanted baby to have because of risk of infection), called in MW3 & GaryJr was pushed out shortly after.
MW1 came back in off her break & went 'Oh'!

1hr 45min labour, didn't get the TENS machine off the first painrelief setting & I loved the gas and air, DH did amazing too (and may have got something in his eye when he held GaryJr for the first time).

Had to stay in overnight, DS1 doesn't like the baby...going to argue over names now, there was a baby Keith on the ward!
Considering he was born at 38+3, he was a healthy 7lbs 4 & 51cm.

Rockchick1984 · 31/07/2013 17:54

maybemyrtle · 31/07/2013 19:36

Ooooh massive congratulations gary!!!! Well done you! So very happy for you Flowers Wine xxx

BumpKitty · 31/07/2013 20:08

Hooray gary I'm so pleased for you, what a quick labour! So not tempted with naming him Gary Junior then Grin and Keith! seriously - still at least there won't be 5 in his class.
Please come and chat to us when things settle down - especially on how DS1 gets on, I expect we'll have quite a few grumpy toddlers to contend with on this thread.

santa thanks for the count the kicks stuff, i'm going to look now - I do remember the woman on our last thread, it was devastating and terrifying. My bump has been quieter today but she always is after I go swimming! - maybe it sends her to sleep.

BumpKitty · 31/07/2013 20:10

...and ibip I think its all the hot weather that makes November seem so far away! Still, it's August tomorrow :)

BlackholesAndRevelations · 31/07/2013 20:21

Woop woop go Gary!! Congratulations! All the boggles you had before obviously got him well on his way. So happy for all the garys (and garycave?! Hahahaha!! Grin)

Lots of love to you. Hope big Gary junior gets used to his new brother soon and then falls totally in love with him!

Guff- second the "what's wrong?"

BlackholesAndRevelations · 31/07/2013 20:22

Haha! Must check posts. Niggles not boggles!

ChristineDaae · 31/07/2013 20:56

Lieslvontrapp · 31/07/2013 21:06
