christine I'm in the same position as you re hypno birthing...quite sceptical but in for a penny and all that after last time! I too want to avoid the drugs Smile

Lovely to hear from you woody congrats on the birth of your son Smile

anda I know it wasn't a twin PG but my growth with DS slowed right down around now for you, was 8cm ahead at 30w but only finished up 2cm ahead by the time he was born Smile

28312 I am so very sorry for your loss and glad that you will be having such close attention this time round. I don't have any knowledge but would hope that the fact they know in advance abt the placenta and can monitor you daily will be a comfort to you. As anda said I can't imagine how tough this will be, but between us here we have helped each other through all our worries and fears and will be here for you too, best of luck xxx

BumpKitty · 25/07/2013 19:28

thunder another little girl as I suspected (they weren't that sure though!). DD is very excited! Booking in isn't much fun but I'm glad they'll be looking after you properly :)

28313 i'm so sorry about your baby, I'm sure they will really look after you this time. I'm glad you found us.

janie it's a bit weird with the MatB1 form, my work has to be officially notified that I am pregnant the 15th week before I am due (i.e. 25 weeks!) but the GP won't give you the form till you are 25 weeks - not much room for manouevre there.

the doctor also prescribed me a steroid cream as I have ezcema on my feet (i thought it was athlete's foot but apparently not). Now I have read up about it the advice is don't use in pg unless essential, I think I'll just put up with manky feet!

Rockchick1984 · 25/07/2013 19:47

Bumpkitty I get eczema on the soles of my feet and around my toes but can generally control it with burt's bees nappy cream applied a couple of times a day, and using a foot exfoliator in the shower :)

12 week scan is on Aug 22nd, have got another scan on Monday so that's next target for everything being ok, hopefully!!

BumpKitty · 25/07/2013 21:15

ooh thanks rockchick the doc did say to keep them moisturised so I'll try some of DD's cream

Pentagon · 25/07/2013 21:18

28313 congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm sure you will get better care this time and I hope you are feeling strong. I can't even begin to imagine what you've been through but this is a lovely thread and we will support you in any way we can.

bump what's your due date? Mine is Oct.28th - I had my 25-week appointment last Friday so we shouldn't be too far off. Ha, I also have some type of ezcema on my left foot and was prescribed a steroid cream but I'm putting off using it till after I give birth. Thanks for the tip rock I'll give it try! Not long till Monday, I hope you're not feeling too anxious!

anda, 6 days only? I'm so jealous!

woody so nice to hear from you, thanks for sharing your good news and congratulations on your baby boy!

BumpKitty · 25/07/2013 23:08

hi pentagon 9th Nov (i'm 25 weeks on Saturday). How funny that we've all got foot rot! I have had mine before but this is the worst ever - I'm not sure if its the pg or just the heat. Hopefully I'll breast feed DD2 so I will probably have to not have the steroid cream for some time. ho hum

Chocolateteabag · 25/07/2013 23:38

Hi 28313 - so sorry for your little boy - hope you get lots of extra care this time. At least you have a reason which they can now monitor, not that really helps I guess. But this is a good place to vent and unleash the worries

Bump - I have dreadful eczema and still use my strong steroid cream when I have to. But I'd also suggest trying some Vagisil Grin the lidocaine in it helps take the edge off the itching

Morning all. Lovely to see a couple of old faces checking in! Very exciting to hear nice news!

Thanks for the advice on hypnobirthing, will find one and give it a go. Can't hurt can it!

Speaking of hurting - anyone else have an 'ache' at the top inside of legs? Almost at foo, but feels a bit deeper than that? Is this SPD?

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 26/07/2013 09:01

28313 i'm so sorry for the terrible sadness you have had to go through. i echo everything that the other ladies have said in that this is the place to be for hand holding and venting. fx for you x

pink my pain is on the outer side of my thighs at the top. only seem to get it in bed when lying down then it gradually vanishes during the morning :(

i started my pg yoga last night - it was good, not as foof breathing as the last one i went to - i think maybe breathing through your bits and bobs comes later in pg! the teacher is very interested in hypnobirthing and said she would email some info so if it's any good i'll pm it to you.

not sure if it was because i was pretty relaxed afterwards but i couldn't get to sleep until about 1am as my wee baby was breakdancing non stop like a mad thing for about an hour! i kept giggling (dh kept telling me to shh oops)

off to SIL wedding today, should be a nice day :) happy friday everyone xxx

Piffyonarockbun · 26/07/2013 10:27

Hiya. Im currently 10 weeks pregnant after a mmc 2 years ago. I started bleeding at just before 10 weeks last time so im a bit twitchy.

I had my own thread about scans last week and got lots of helpful advice. I did have a scan a 8+6 and all was fine. I was good for about a week but im getting myself worried again now!

Yesterday i had a bit of a bad day at work. They are messing me about a lot and its just making me low and stressed. I veer from total positivity to total panic which i can see from reading here is entirely normal Smile.

Anyway, just thought id check in. I was too scared to earlier but im hoping for the best now iv actually got to 10 weeks Grin

Good luck to everyone and my thoughts are with all those who have had bad news xxx

IBelieveInPink · 26/07/2013 10:46

Janie - yoga sounds great! That's it, I'm getting myself a DVD.

Piffy - congratulations and welcome aboard!

andadietcoke · 26/07/2013 12:50

ibip I had this but it didn't get any worse and has just come and go. Have you got yourself a pregnancy pillow? Mine gets worse if I have a night or two off it.

IBelieveInPink · 26/07/2013 14:57

Ahh that could be it diet, thanks. I have a pillow, but it has been so hot recently I keep kicking it out of bed! Will make an effort to keep it there :) thanks!

Thundercatsarego · 26/07/2013 15:57

Hello all, hope you're having a good Friday- nearly the weekend!

Quick question- anyone get the squits early on? Last few days now I get it quite bad straight after eating, whilst feeling a bit sick throughout. Is this a bug or is it pg hormones?! It's not very cool whilst at work!

IBelieveInPink · 26/07/2013 16:36

Thunder - yep! I had that. Really bad between 6-9 weeks, got a little better, now seems to be a regular occurance since about 15 weeks. Lush.
However- check out your big fat pregnancy symptom! Yay!

JBrd · 26/07/2013 16:56

I have all sorts of tummy troubles, it seems to go from being really constipated to, well, not at all Confused

I've had a really sore back all afternoon, so bad that I contemplated taking a paracetamol. It's eased off again now, but I'm hoping that it's not anything sinister... Backache featured very prominently in both my mcs.
On the other hand, it could be a big fat pregnancy symptom, right?!

Thundercatsarego · 26/07/2013 17:03

Too right jbrd! All sound quite classic to me. Last time I was hungry all the time, this time I don't want to eat at all. Weird.

Thanks pink!

Chocolateteabag · 26/07/2013 17:03

Hi Piffy - congratulations on reaching 10 weeks, you are in right place for twitchy panics

IBIP - I have worsening pains right in my pubic bone and up in my pelvis underneath. I have a Serola support belt which is helping and MW has referred me to a Physio (but also been told that I'll be better off paying to see a pregnancy trained chiropractor) There are a few threads on here on other things you can try & to avoid (walking for example Grin)

So had my 20W scan this afternoon and all is well. DS's prediction that it's a girl is..... wrong! very clearly saw that he's all boy.
Feel awful saying this but I felt a tiny pang of disappointment - but really only because I can't buy girls stuff now - how sad is that?

OP posts:
GuffSmuggler · 26/07/2013 19:08

thunder I had rather erm 'loose' bowels for most my last PG Blush Not too bad this time but it definitely affects your digestion understandably.

chocolate great news the scan went well. It's understandable you have a pang of what isn't to be, but you're little boy will be perfect and you won't be able to imagine your family any other way. I have a DS and am fully expecting another DS as DH's family line are all boys and I'm sure I'll have a little pang of 'oh well' but then realise it will be our perfect family whatever happens.

I just wondered if any of you could advise when to chase for my 12 week scan? I'll be 9 weeks on tues and after my good 7 week scan I'm feeling really anxious again and want to know when my next one will be...

IBelieveInPink · 26/07/2013 20:16

Chocolate - brilliant news that your scan went well! So pleased :)
Of course is understandable to have a pang, no fish slap for you. But it Doesn't mean you will love another baby boy any less. Have these Flowers

Guff - if it was me, I would chase. I like to have dates set, although I know everyone's hospitals do things at different times, maybe if they can't tell you, they can tell you when to expect to find out, and that can be your next thing to look forward to if you see what I mean?

pumpkinsweetie · 26/07/2013 20:34

Congratulations chocSmile glad all is well and don't be guilty it's just a normal reaction which won't last too long x

shellsocks · 26/07/2013 20:50

pink it prob isn't SPD and just normal PG aches but physio said the pillow is v important and try walking with your legs a bit apart (waddle Grin) and stand up with your legs together, so swing them out from your chair and then stand up if you know what I mean?! I do lots of other exercises and have to wear supports but hopefully you wont need any of that...and like choc says mention it to your MW if it gets worse, the earlier you can get help the better Smile

Welcome piffy congrats on your BFP Smile

choc congrats on your scan and another DS Grin I have one DS and am 95% sure this will be too (DHs family don't do girls Grin) don't beat yourself up on feeling a pang of regret....even after my MMC I really wanted DS to be a girl up until I had the 20w scan when luckily I just became so excited to be having a boy and never looked back...you can't help your natural reaction x

GardenWorm · 26/07/2013 20:57

Fab Choc, sorry didn't realise it was your scan today until I read your post otherwise I would have wished you good luck. I take it there is no doubting when it's a boy? We didn't find out but I did say to DH I didn't notice any dangly bits - are they that obvious or is it just your genes? Lol! I'm convinced this one is a girl too and am worried if they pop out with dangly bits how strange it will be....but really, let's face it, when we pop we just won't care what flavour our babies are so long as they are safe and well X

ChristineDaae · 26/07/2013 20:57

Congrats on a little boy choc!
Can I ask a really really stupid question?
Last week I could feel my uterus just a little bit above public bone, I just lay down on the couch and its literally at my belly button. Is that normal? I'm only 14 weeks. I'm pretty sure it was around this high at about 20weeks with DD?

ChristineDaae · 26/07/2013 21:04

God I'm a idiot just ignore me! Got so concerned with my belly, I forgot I was bursting for a pee! It's all back where it should be now. Panic overBlush
