Nice one shell, I'm reading the mongan book, it's good so far and the cd that cones with it is very relaxing (I keep falling asleep when I listen so must work!). Pink I can't afford a course either so hoping the book and some good research will help.

Starting a 6 week yoga course tmro night, the Tuesday night one I went to before didn't suit so hopefully it'll be good (and I hope I don't get the giggles breathing the vowels through my vajayjay like last time)

IBelieveInPink · 25/07/2013 07:31

Ooh Janie - which one? There is more than one on Amazon - Id rather get one that has been recommended :)

V Jels of your yoga course. I can't find one at a time that suits. Maybe I will get a DVD for that.

GardenWorm · 25/07/2013 07:56

Myrtle I hope today goes better than you are fearing. What an awful situation to be in. Will be thinking of you xxx

28313 I don't think there are any on this thread after full term still birth but I could be wrong. So very sorry for your loss, it must be terribly difficult. I'm not sure my early mc's would even come close but we are here to help if we can xxx

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/07/2013 08:01

I got it off eBay (didn't realise there was more than one!) it's called 'hypnobirthing - the mongan method'. It's a little bit American but good so far, just getting to the breathing section so just coming up to being half way through. It's been easy to read so far. I don't think DH believes I could do it but at least ill know how to try and relax and hopefully take the fear out of it so can't be a bad thing even to try. I know it can all change in the day but worth a shot!

Did you ask your midwife if they know of any pg yoga classes? It might be worth looking up on Facebook, gumtree or somewhere like that - I found mine by just ringing a few yoga teachers and asking if they knew any and a few of then were able to recommend teachers that didn't advertise online x

BettyFlutterbly · 25/07/2013 08:14

Just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I've been meaning to for so long!
I got a bit lost in work and pregnancy and having a three year old.
Not even sure if any of you will remember me, but I was on the mc thread back in Sept last year.
I am 37+3 today and hoping to meet dd2 sooner rather than later, but whenever she's ready will be fine.
I hope you're all well and your pregnancies are going well (haven't read back through the posts).
I am sure there are a couple of you due soon too. Gary and Anda??

shellsocks · 25/07/2013 08:42

Hey pink I got the natal hypnotherapy book and cd by Maggie Howell...it's not American which is why I chose that one janie but I'm not sure whether the actual practical advice will be any different?

I would say that it is quite a lot of work and will be for DH too once I have got a bit further in, you could just do the CD on its own which doesn't involve your DH if you think he won't be interested or if you don't want to devote quite so much time to it, let me know of you want more detail abt the book/CD Smile

janie my DH takes the piss when we talk abt it, but defo thinks anything that can help improve things from last time even a little bit is worth a go!

Hi betty wow you are close! Best of luck for the birth, exciting Smile

GuffSmuggler · 25/07/2013 08:48

Thinking of you today myrtle

liesal that's rubbish about the scan, I'm 8 weeks and still don't have my 12 week appointment so I hope they don't do the same with me, is SUCH a long wait to get to 12 weeks to add another 2 weeks on is just cruel Sad

WhatWillSantaBring · 25/07/2013 08:56

liesl I had exactly the same concerns. My NT scan wasn't till 13 weeks and I was showing by about 9... So I went for the tactic of asking what the measurement was myself and i always said that if it was less than 2 I would cautiously tell my very close friends. I then decided that I'd give it a week to see if I had a call from the results place - (on the basis that no call = good news, as they call if its not good).

But as it was, my head of dept came in on the Monday and said congratulations, I'd guessed about a month ago. I was bit pissed off to be honest, and it took another 3 months weeks for me to relax about people saying congrats. Lots of tears and stress and feeling totally unreasonable about the whole thing. But you know what? It doesn't matter. Let people gossip if they want to. Its not going to change anything. Just keep ploughing on in your own head space till you feel comfortable telling people. Good luck today though.

I didn't poo - a lot of people say that everyone does but the midwives are v good at clearing it up so you don't notice, but I'm sure I didn't. Just get your DH's to stay at the head end throughout!!

Pentagon · 25/07/2013 09:20

28313, I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers I don't think anyone on this thread has experienced the same as you but you're more than welcome to join us

myrtle I hope you have some good news today - let us know how you get on

I got this hypnobirthing book when I was last pregnant (plus the CD from a friend): www.amazon.co.uk/Hypnobirthing-Breakthrough-Easier-Comfortable-Childbirth/dp/0285637711/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1374737715&sr=1-1&keywords=hypnobirthing

I'm useless when it comes to breathing techniques so I can't say I managed to do that but the book helped me have a positive and calm attitude while in labour which paid off Smile

betty of course I remember you! Wow, you are so close now - all the best! Please update us when the baby arrives (when you get the chance, of course!)

As for the royal baby: I like the name George and love Alexander (it's my all-time favourite boys' name) - I didn't make any bets unfortunately

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 25/07/2013 09:51

28313 my sister had a still born daughter at 38 weeks. If you went through this, you have my UTMOST sympathy. I wouldn't wish it in my worst enemy. Xx
If its any help, she now has 2 GORGEOUS daughters.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 25/07/2013 10:52

Good luck today Myrtle, hope it's the best possible news. x

Liesel, my 12wk scan was at 13+6 and they still managed to see everything ok, the extra almost two weeks wait was horrible though!

28313, so sorry for your loss...there is a rainbow babies ttc thread & having a quick glance on there, they have a fair few ladies pregnant after late losses, if you've got specific question they might be more knowledgeable? We're a fab, supportive lot if you want to stick around here?

Ey oop Betty!! I remember you, how are you doing?
You all prepared for having another one (very!) soon?

Unwrapped the moses basket this morning, haven't unwrapped the mattress but it's the closest I've come to getting things ready for having a baby...

ChristineDaae · 25/07/2013 11:40

Good luck today myrtle!
I hadn't thought if hypnotist thing, I'm a bit sceptical but reviews seem good. I didn't have the best of labours first time round and would like to avoid pain relief at all costs this time so might give it a try.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 25/07/2013 11:48

Gah! Just sitting in the hospital waiting for DDs appointment, messing with my calendar. Today is THE day. The day I MC last time. Sad another milestone reached. I feel a little low now, bizarrely!

woody17 · 25/07/2013 12:19

Hello - I don't know if any of you remember me but I was on this thread from when it started last summer after my first pregnancy ended in mc in July. While I was on the thread, I had a second mc in September. I fell pregnant again in October but became a bit worked up about doing anything that I stupidly thought might tempt fate. I couldn't open a pregnancy book, I always had to carry a sanitary towel with me and I left mumsnet. Anyway, it was third time lucky for me and I had a little boy earlier this month. I don't know if it made any difference but I started having acupuncture after the 2nd mc and continued to have it all throughout my pregnancy. Just wanted to wish all of you the very best.

Thundercatsarego · 25/07/2013 13:24

Hi woody, I remember you- but it was from the conception/may 2013 thread. Massive congratulations on the birth of your new son! So sweet of you to come back to spread some hope for those of us who need it.

saggy, don't feel low! Big hug for you- you've already passed the most major milestone with that fantastic scan result and don't forget it.

Thinking of you today myrtle

pumpkinsweetie · 25/07/2013 13:50

Congratulations woody very refreshing post & hope you are enjoying your new baby boyThanks

GardenWorm · 25/07/2013 14:06

I am loving these ladies post birth or near birth popping in to say hello - spreading their posifrickintivity. MAKES ME SMILE Smile

andadietcoke · 25/07/2013 14:50

Ah woody congratulations! I remember you from the TTC #1 thread I think, and arrived on the TTC after a mc thread just after you'd left my the sounds of things. 33 weeks now - with twins. Did you ever get to the point before your little boy came that you accepted everything would be okay?

andadietcoke · 25/07/2013 14:55

And Betty - 37w! Wow! Everyone else's pregnancies seem to have passed in a heartbeat, mine has taken forever.

I'm 33+2 today. Should be induced around 38w so not too long to go either. Can't imagine getting even fatter over the next 5 weeks - I'm mahoosive. 6 more working days to get through then I might need to start sorting stuff out at home.

Good luck with the last few days/weeks, and don't forget to come back and let us know how you got on xx

BumpKitty · 25/07/2013 15:41

Hi woody thanks for popping in and huge congratulations. what is your new baby boy called?

Hi betty not long now, have you finished work?

anda 6 days!! That's ace :) I'm so excited for you - I think twins are incredible, I always hoped I'd have them as I have twin cousins on both sides - still there's always time! Enjoy your last few days at work

Thinking of you myrtle

thunder hopefully once you are under the care of a consultant you won't have to faff around convincing GPs to do their jobs! I can understand why you were frustrated with it all.

I had my 25 week GP appt today, I collected my MATB1 for work so it all seems a bit closer now :) the GP found the heartbeat in 2 seconds which was nice after all the excruciating waits I've had in the past.

Thundercatsarego · 25/07/2013 16:56

Nice vibe in here this afternoon or is it just me pretending to be being a bit calmer?

25 weeks bump, it's all getting rather exciting eh? Do you know what flavour you're having?

anda 6 day countdown- must be really exciting too. Is being mahoosive causing you any physical discomfort?

I just got put onto the system for consultant care and made an early booking in appointment at 7 weeks. I'm not excited about booking in, just want to be looked after properly by a real expert!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 25/07/2013 17:32

Oooooh another real baby!!! Congrats woody!! Lovely to hear from you :)

And Betty you're so close! How exciting!!!

Oh I was wondering about the matb firm yesterday as I want to give it to my boss ASAP. Got my 25wk appointment in 2wks so will hold off til then eek!

Glad you're getting looked after properly now thunder, fx for smooth and boring from here on in :)

Anda I'm soooooo jealous of your 6 more days!!

28313 · 25/07/2013 18:26

Thanks for the lovely comments. I did lose my son full term in March. I am currently just shy of 5 weeks pregnant & facing another very tough 8 months with lots of monitoring & medication.

andadietcoke · 25/07/2013 18:46

28313 I'm so very sorry for your loss; I can't begin to imagine how tough this is for you. Were they able to pinpoint anything that they'll be able to keep an eye out for?

I'm sure you will get the best care imaginable. Take it one day at a time, then one week at a time. I'm sure time will pass horrendously slowly, but you'll get there. Take care xx

28313 · 25/07/2013 18:51

Yes, they know the placenta was the cause as it was 2/3 the size it should have been with 30% of it having died.

I expect to be in hospital almost every day in my final trimester.
