shellsocks · 24/07/2013 19:04

I finish on 16th garden Smile

Sorry you are having a shit time thunder just gotta keep pushing I guess but it's not right is it Hmm

IBelieveInPink · 24/07/2013 20:05

Sorry, threw that message out there and hadn't caught up. Thunder that sucks! What a worry! Why are they not being more helpful ( I know you don't know this, just exhasperating for you!) glad you did find someone more helpful, but you really shouldn't have to!
It does still amaze me, you hear some lovely stories of fantastic care, then in a different place 10 miles away, you get crap like this?!

Sorry - rant over! Hope you okay x

maybemyrtle · 24/07/2013 20:11

Hi ladies, so Prince George! Wishing I'd put a tenner on that yesterday.

Just wanted to update on my situation after Monday's scan. Beware - pity party post ahead.

My HCG on Monday was 6900 and today is 7300 so it's looking like an ectopic. I'm back in tomorrow for further assessment, but after some digging on the NHS site it looks as though it'll have to be operated on (rather than medical mgmt) as HCG is over 5k.

Scared that my body is getting old and with one tube missing, won't ever produce a child. I only ovulated because of clomid (mmc in March 2012 and had been trying since then) and apparently clomid itself increases risk of ectopic 4-fold. Scared that each twinge is the start of a rupture. Feeling doom and gloom and just want tomorrow over and done with.

Thanks for letting me vent x

WhatWillSantaBring · 24/07/2013 20:11

Panic not ladies, if you buy a Group 0+ car seat that does (approx) 0-18 months or up to 29lbs. That will cover you for the law changes, whenever they come in. We went for a maxi cosi cabriofix and it was fab. We got a base for it as we'll, which was expensive but really useful as it lets you pop the seat in and out in secs (as demonstrated by HRH yesterday) which for a newborn is a godsend, as you cart em everywhere in a car seat! Bases come in two sorts - isofix and belted, though maxi cosi do one that works wit both (handy if you a new car and a banger!)

I would also recommend a trip to an independent baby shop or John Lewis for advice. Halfords and Argos can be worse than useless (dangerous in fact) especially if you get a Saturday boy/girl.

I'm slightly OCD about researching things like this so happy to go and look at my which! account if anyone wants safety ratings etc! Though might not be till Friday pm as I have a nightmare day and a half at work to get through!

WhatWillSantaBring · 24/07/2013 20:16

Oh no, sorry x-post with myrtle. That sucks - and it's not a pity post at all. I'm not sure if its comforting or not, but my mmc #2 in feb had that level of increase and they didn't suspect an ectopic. Although its shit in every way, An operation does have advantages in getting it done and letting you move on to trying again, rather than weeks of waiting. {{{hugs}}}

BlackholesAndRevelations · 24/07/2013 20:25

Sorry myrtle Sad hope it's not as bad as you suspect xxx

I have the cabriofix (didn't realise it was a 0+, think mine is only 0 unless there are two types? Correct me if I'm wrong!) both my children were in it til after a year and could possibly have been up to 15 months. Of course it depends on size and length of baby but as long as their head is below the top of the back, it's ok. Doesn't matter if their legs are bowed. Not a bad idea to wait though as long as new ones are out in plenty of time. What a worry!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 24/07/2013 20:27

And, oh my gosh, googled royal baby carseat and am stunned!! Why didnt a midwife or someone show them how to do it?! Shock

Lieslvontrapp · 24/07/2013 21:00

DIY congrats on the scan and it being a boy!

Saggy c

Lieslvontrapp · 24/07/2013 21:14

DIY congrats on the scan and it being a boy!

Saggy congrats on the early scan and hope you can get to the bottom of the rude reaction from your friend.

Thunder congrats on the 3+ and sorry youve had to stamp your feet to get action on your levels.

Gary & Anda sounds like neither of you have too long to go.

Well I've had a bit if a meltdown today. Got my '12 week' scan through today and it will be when I'm 13+2 according to my dates and 14 weeks according to the midwife. Gutted I have to wait so long. I'm annoyed that the gp surgery told me I couldn't have a booking in until 10+ weeks and now I've got such a late 12 week scan. Also got worried about the nt but my nhs book says they can do it up to 14+1. Also getting worried I'll have a obvious bump by then and people at work will gossip. Started to feel a bit paranoid about my expanding waistline already. Is this the pregnancy hormones making me like this?

28313 · 24/07/2013 21:34

Anyone here after a full term still birth?

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/07/2013 21:48

Myrtle, im not sure, as I MC my ectopic, but can they not just remove the PG and leave the tube? I thought they only removed the tube if it ruptured?
Did they say you had a PG of unknown location?

pumpkinsweetie · 24/07/2013 21:58

So sorry murtleSad, hoping against all odds for you xxx

Diy congrats on baby boy scanSmile

George for the future King a lovely name, also like the Alexander as the middle name as well as LouisSmile
I have the same carseat for baba as the future kingSmile, i'm sure he was belted correctly one in the car!

Getting very nervous about my private scan on saturday, hoping to find out babas flavour & hoping all is okay. Managed to pick babas heartbeat up on my angelsounds today, finally! Was about to send it backConfused

IBelieveInPink · 24/07/2013 22:11

So sorry myrtle. Hoping for the best and quickest outcome for you.x

If anyone is in need of a giggle, please head over to the 'childbirth' catagory and read the thread 'did you poo'. Have been bellyaching laughing. and dreading what is to come...

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 24/07/2013 22:15

oh myrtle i'm sorry to read your news. i hope it isn't an ectopic, but if it is, the only positive is that they discovered it early rather than later. i hope they can help you as soon as possible whatever the outcome. sending you a big hug.

thunder, sorry you've had a worrying day. bloody hospitals grrr. i sympathise about their lack of knowledge and bloody annoying paperwork. everytime i have an appointment with this pg they ask me about my miscarriage and how i was diagnosed with a molar pregnancy after the pathology tests and then i have to go through the whole rigmarole of how i was monitored for months and was then told it was a misdiagnosis. every bloody appointment. why can they not just read the notes instead of taking me back to that horrible time!

leisl sorry you're scan isn't until 14wks. my first scan was 8 weeks and they didn't want to scan again until 14wks and i couldn't wait that long. so we went for a private scan at 12 weeks for reassurance - was the best £100 i ever spent. and also we wanted to tell people at 12 weeks so wanted to make sure everything was ok.

yay for the heartbeat pumpkin!! how many weeks will you be at your scan? exciting! i have the angelsound one too :)

i loved the name george - it was my grandads name and i have it on my list...no longer. but on the upside i had put 50p on it being the name and won 4quid woop woop!!!

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 24/07/2013 22:16

ibip i must have a read of it - i've been considering a waterbirth but panicking about pooing in the water - wtf do you do if you shit yourself in a bath?!?!?!?

Thundercatsarego · 24/07/2013 22:20

Evening everyone. Have just got in and calmed down a bit. Apologies for the emotional meltdown earlier you should've seen me earlier on
Tbh pink they are good gps I think, just when it comes to advice in pregnancy they don't seem to be that clued up. When I was newly diagnosed my doc told me to read up on it, so I did and then she said that I knew more than her. That says something eh?

Oh poor you myrtle, what a horrible day. When you go in tomorrow can you talk about getting some real answers to your fears? It's so understandable that this is overwhelming at this time.

liesl that's crap. I'd be annoyed too about those dates. Isn't there a certain window of opportunity for nuchal testing?

Thundercatsarego · 24/07/2013 22:21

janie they fish it out with a sieve they keep on the side!

IBelieveInPink · 24/07/2013 22:21

Janie - that is exactly my problem with a waterbirth too! Would like one for the pain relief, but don't want to end up sat in a pool of poo! Apparently they have a little sieve, but what if it is, well, a sloppy poo?! Oh god. Im not ready to face all of this!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/07/2013 22:32

I would love a home water birth. :-(

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 24/07/2013 22:35

oh my god a sieve?!?! aah they don't have toilets in the active birthing rooms with the pools so do they just sieve it out like a potato and pop it in the bin?! DH will never love me again! i'm going on an active birthing workshop in september and i hope i can ask this discreetly without other people listening...although i bet everyone wonders! and yes what if it's not so solid?! that thread is bloody funny though - i love how people are so honest, this is why i love MN!!

Thundercatsarego · 24/07/2013 22:38

like a potato

shellsocks · 24/07/2013 23:23

Sorry to hear your news myrtle I hope you get some answers soon, this limbo must be awful x

Thanks santa that's good to know, but even more info to bamboozle my tiny brain Grin

28313 I don't think so, but you are very welcome to join us, if we can help at all Smile I'm very sorry for your loss and best of luck if you are now TTC or have your BFP x

shellsocks · 24/07/2013 23:25

Ah pressed to soon Confused

So I've written my birth script for the natal hypnotherapy...next step is to get DH to record it over some hypno music?! All sounds a bit woo, but I'm very happy with what I have written and it does make sense...will let you know how DH gets on ConfusedWink

IBelieveInPink · 24/07/2013 23:37

Which book was it you are using for hypnobirthing shell? I want to read about this- cant afford a course, but can manage a book. :)
