Thanks ladies for the support. I think I'm the biggest chicken in the world! Will let you know how it goes. Managed together almost 3 interrupted hours of sleep.

Waves has the HG gone completely??? Am really curious if its an immediate thing in case I am able to ever brave pregnancy again and get it full term rather than to 37 weeks.

Tom, that sucks! My pain is just constantly there in my back but manageable for now. Good luck marushka. Maybe it's the start of things! Sorry if I've missed any of you. Hopefully at least one of us has a baby today. We need a boost again!

ZingWidge · 29/07/2013 09:31

good luck with all your check ups!

BabyZing sends giggles and good luck too! Wink

wavesandsmiles · 29/07/2013 09:34

Hi Reebok, yes the HG has completely gone. No sickness, no nausea. Well, a little nausea but I think that is just down to far too little sleep over the past week.

It's really normal to be worried. To be honest I'd never had a sweep before, and this was my third baby. I had mine with no notice whilst in labour, I think I'd have been scared too if I'd known in advance. However, they will only do it if the cervix is favourable, nothing awful will happen

Best of luck to everyone else, I'm hoping for more baby news soon

Reebok · 29/07/2013 09:44

Thanks zing and waves. That's great waves. Although the actual vomiting went for me, the nausea stuck around at times although not as bad as before. So hopefully it will go completely once baby reebok is here! Must feel strange to suddenly feel so normal. So pleased for you waves!

mrsspagbol · 29/07/2013 10:03

Hi HJBeans - no risk of infection from sweep, you may experience a bit of bleeding, loss of plug or increased discharge after, as well as some cramping.

Good luck everyone! I've woken up in a really calm and peaceful mood today and am channelling it across to all of you while it lasts

We are lucky to have got this far think positive

Come on babies!

ZingWidge · 29/07/2013 10:08

reebok please don't worry about it, it feels like a bit of tugging, as someone else said it's like DH going "too deep"

for me some of them felt like a little pinch or scratch, but that lasts for about 5 seconds!

you'll be fine!

I do wish I could physically be there! you can do slow breathing: count to 7 when breathing in and count to 11 while breathing out

and just imagine you cervix opening up like a beautiful flower. it will help or it will make you laugh at least.(remember Ross?)

what time is appointment? I'll be virtually holding your hand. anyone going with you?

Reebok · 29/07/2013 10:13

Lol I love that part of friends! Yep DH is going. It's at 3 but they're always late seeing people. Thank you zing. Appreciate it!

Spag Bol loving the positivity! Pass some over here!

Airfryer · 29/07/2013 10:49

Well, am never doing that again!!!

Had a madras, well half of one coz it was simply too disgustingly hot to eat in an attempt to shift this baby.

I was awake all night. Seemed to manage an hours sleep at a time followed by 3 hours awake. I was finally sick at 4.30am! Disgusting.

And no baby.......disappointing!

Managed to have a sleep this morning so off to work I go!!

TomDaleysTrunks · 29/07/2013 11:59

Morning all!
Had a bloody awful nights sleep due to combo if poorly toddler and pregnancy! I've also got a sweep this afternoon, really hope it starts something. Lots of period pains and cramps this morning but feeling alright otherwise.

Glad HG has passed waves. How are you getting on?
marushka let us know how check up goes
reebok sweep buddy! Hope it goes fine for you. Lots of deep breaths and will be over before you know it.

TomDaleysTrunks · 29/07/2013 12:00

airdryer that sounds bloody awful. Hope it triggers something though

shineypeacock · 29/07/2013 12:52

Been to the midwife, who was l

shineypeacock · 29/07/2013 12:55

Sorry- bloomin phone!

Been to the midwife who was lovely, she has booked me in for another trace tonight at 5 as i have reduced movements, and is also going to get someone from the consultants team to see me tonight as she feels the baby is very big, my fundas height was 53cm today!!! In her opinion baby will be around the 10lb mark, so they may induce me tonight if they have bed space! Im hoping so!

Reebok · 29/07/2013 13:29

Sorry to hear you're unwell air fryer. Good luck Tom!

Wow peacock that's great that baby may be along soon! Fx!

Getting p pains again in lower back and front. And tummy hurts poopy style lol...and all I keep thinking is, if I do have a sweep today....what if I fart? Or worse! Lol

HJBeans · 29/07/2013 13:34

Thanks mrs spagbol. In waiting room for sweep just now and have also thought about the risk unladylike emissions, reebok. They must have seen it all before, surely...

Good luck to both sweep buddies and hope things get moving for you tonight, peacock.

Reebok · 29/07/2013 13:37

Lol beans! Glad I'm not the only one thinking it! Good luck to you too! Think thin! Lol

HJBeans · 29/07/2013 14:32

Boo. No sweep for me. Midwife said - unlike her colleague I saw last time - that she prefers to wait until I'm officially overdue (currently 39+6) as earlier sweeps may be painful and are unlikely to help. She said it could also bring on stop/start labour if my body isn't ready yet. So I get to ask the consultant on Wed instead. All seems sensible but can't help but feel a bit disappointed.

ZingWidge · 29/07/2013 14:44

about sweep worries - just tell MW you are worried about having a loose poo. they will probably prefer to be warned about that and will just put a wet sheet under your bottom.
no problem.

sorry you are disappointed.

TomDaleysTrunks · 29/07/2013 15:30

Sorry beans :(

Had mine. Cervix thick and high. Could just about get 2 fingers in. Midwife thinks its unlikely it will work but have another booked for weds.

mrsspagbol · 29/07/2013 15:59

Sorry Beans and Tom

Anyone want to join me in scrubbing bathroom tiles tonight? Sad

Reebok · 29/07/2013 16:32

Oh man am I sore! They said cervix wasn't fully open but was getting softer so struggled to get much in. I was literally screaming so she had to stop and couldn't complete the sweep. Was so embarrassed because there were lots of people outside my room so they clearly heard it all. Bless the midwife...took me out another way so I didn't have to face them all again. Have induction booked for thurs so either way baby will hopefully be out by end of week! Dreading induction too. I seriously suck with pain! Anyone been induced before? Been advised to have epidural.

Reebok · 29/07/2013 16:43

Also said my feet were really swollen but urine and bp were fine. She's still concerned about pre eclampsia so I've been told to keep feet up and keep eye out for signs.

yellowsnownoteatwillyou · 29/07/2013 17:01

Elcs tomorrow.....
had hoped I would go into labour myself before after constant stop start contraction and losing my mucus plug. But not meant to be apparently.

Absolutely terrified since with my ligaments and hips knackered from hypermobility and the pain from a section still to come.

I'm glad that the weight of the baby will be out as it may ease the hip pain, but panicking I will be useless when he's here. Due to section pain.

Hmm
Airfryer · 29/07/2013 17:03

Does anyone have this (or heard of it)

Feels like the left side of my vagina has literally been punched. Walking is horrendous. Stair climbing too, turning in bed. Lifting my left leg causes a lot of pain.

I'm guessing its just part and parcel of late pregnancy, just don't remember feeling this sore first time around???

marushka82 · 29/07/2013 17:32

Hey everyone, woke up today with a bit of pinkish discharge so called triage and they told me to come in for a check up. Went in, explained what happened yesterday but said I'm unsure it's waters because it was only a tiny trickle in the morning and nothing else afterwards. MW examined me, told me to cough a couple of times and said she thinks waters have broken. She was concerned about a bit too much blood that appeared after the exam so she called a doctor. They put me on the monitor, baby is fine:) but they told me they cannot let me go home and they are inducing me. They applied the gel which seems to be working a bit and caused some cramping but it now calmed down so they might put more gel in and we'll see. So basically i'm not leaving the hospital without the baby! I'm a bit gutted I won't be able to have my birth centre water birth, but I guess the main thing is that the baby is safe, right? I was a bit teary when they told me but I'm better now that DH made it to the hospital with all the stuff. Poor thing got so stressed he got himself some cigarettes and had one although he quit half a year ago!

Reebok - my sweep last week was similar, they couldn't reach far enough, had some bleeding and I think my plug went, I hope things start for you! Keeping fingers crossed for the rest of you ladies!

Reebok · 29/07/2013 17:38

Aww sorry to hear you can't have your birth centre birth but at least you will have baby soon hopefully. How do they insert gel? Is that always first thing they do? Please let me know when you can if you have the drip and whether it hurts. Am dreading Thursday and praying baby comes naturally asap!
