I'm due on the 17th...2nd baby and so excited. Currently in slow labour so contractions in the evening completely irregular and turning into a disappointing nothing!!!
How are you getting along??

Reebok · 19/07/2013 23:40

Pain not going. Don't want to take paracetomol yet because it seems to stop things completely. Running to loo every 5 mins but I can't seem to go!

ZingWidge · 19/07/2013 23:50

are you in constant pain or do you have breaks in between?

Reebok · 20/07/2013 00:01

Having breaks in between but ranging between 8 - 15 mins. But then I find myself feeling like I need loo on between.

ZingWidge · 20/07/2013 00:09

ok, the loo thing is happening because the gut and the uterus are somehow connected

stimulation of one will stimulate the other! all the advice about eating a curry, pineapples, prunes etc are kind of reasonable, because as the bowel is stimulated so is the uterus so in theory a good curry poo can start off contractions!

(and so can an orgasm)

a contraction at this stage is unlikely to be longer than 30-40 seconds. how do they feel?

ReikiMummy · 20/07/2013 00:21

congrats Milla!! :D

Reebok · 20/07/2013 02:48

They're lasting longer...up to a minute. Not as bad right now though so think its fizzling out.

Have tried curry and spice in general. Doesn't seem to work on me except give me heartburn.

mamachelle · 20/07/2013 02:54

milla that sounded brilliant (exept the meconium bit!)
how are you feeling today?

i love birth stories!

no news from me, baby let me sleep for a few hours, this is just my usual ish wake up time so am just having a brew but am going to try and force myself back to sleep again after.

i phoned labour ward before i went to bed who said to stay at home unless babys movements reduce, waters go green or contractions are 5 apart. If none of the above happen i need to phone again at 8am to make an app 4 a check up and get poss induction started.

does anyone know how they would re-start labour if full waters have broken?

reebok- how are you doing?

mamachelle · 20/07/2013 02:56

sorry x post. takes me ages to type messages lol

you holding up ok reebok?

Reebok · 20/07/2013 03:03

Ah hopefully your contractions start up again mama. RE restarting labour, sorry...no idea. But I'm sure someone will be able to help you!

Am ok. Pain isn't too bad. I can manage but seem to be waking constantly to pee or once again try to poop. Getting pretty fed up of the loo trips and think I might have to migrate to the bathroom soon!

TomDaleysTrunks · 20/07/2013 03:25

mama it varies trust to trust. I was induced with syntocinon drip 48 hours after waters broke. Dd was born 5 hours later Grin.

reebok mine have completely died out again. It's so blooming frustrating. I'm up and having an ice lolly. It's super hot here still.

mamachelle · 20/07/2013 03:26

i had loads of bathroom visits yest and thursday too! did you find that you can barely pee when you get there? n that sitting on the loo ramped contractions up? thats a strange old situation to be in, stuck on the loo lol Smile

im going back to bed now altho i may just wake dh up and make him talk to me instead!

good luck, will check in the am, hope you manage to get some rest

Reebok · 20/07/2013 03:29

Eurgh ice lollies! Can't stand them because when I had hyperemesis, there was a point that ice lollies were all I could eat for weeks on end. And I mean it...literally ALL I had that I could hold down without being sick. Bad memories are now associated with them.

That sucks Tom about it fizzling out. I'm getting fed up. If baby doesn't want to come now, I wish I would stop getting these stupid contractions daily.

Reebok · 20/07/2013 03:31

Mama yeh I actually do find that. Thought I had a uti so checked and it's all clear so I don't understand why I constantly feel the need to pee/poo and can't go! And baby doesn't seem to like it when I do try and end up contracting. Odd huh!

Lol @ waking DH. My DH is pretending to be asleep right now.

Hopefully we will have another baby or two on this thread soon enough!

mamachelle · 20/07/2013 03:35

thanks tomdaleys. meh to the drip (had that with dd1 but at least this time i have age and experience on my side.) i will however have a bit of that there 5 hour labour!

saying that, i was hoping to be done and dusted by mid night last night . . aha, ah well, at least baby listened to part of the eviction notice! Grin

night all, sleep well x x

TomDaleysTrunks · 20/07/2013 03:43

The end is in sight mama. Hope you get some sleep. Grin At waking DH!

Is this your first baby reebok? Can't remember how far along you are? Baby is irritating your bladder and bowel as sat very low. I feel like I constantly need to poo too, it's a horrible feeling. Fed up of sitting in the loo 6 time a night.

Reebok · 20/07/2013 03:58

Yep first baby so everything is new to me and I don't really know what to expect. It's been a difficult pregnancy too. I'm 40 weeks on M

Reebok · 20/07/2013 03:59

Monday...pressed send too soon.
What about you?

Just been reading up on cory montieths death and started crying. Yes I loved the show but I have a feeling the crying is partly hormones.

TomDaleysTrunks · 20/07/2013 04:07

Sounds like you've had a tough time with it all. Not long to go now though, nearly done. 2nd time round for me, dd is 2 years 4 months. Been an easier ride compared to first preg.

Hope you are off the toilet nowWink. I'm off to try sleep now. Had some good news though, my friend had her DD at 40+ 9 today, was due to be induced Monday. Great news!

Reebok · 20/07/2013 06:45

Thanks Tom. Haven't been able to sleep. I feel like I'm going to start my period. Pain in front lower abdomen And lower abdomen since 5am again. And going loo every half hour and nothing will come except what I think is pee. Not even sure. I seriously feel like my period is going to start.

Reebok · 20/07/2013 06:46

That meant to say lower back...sorry lack of sleep tonight.

TomDaleysTrunks · 20/07/2013 08:19

I really think you are going to have this baby soon. How you doing now?
And mama?

TwoOfThree · 20/07/2013 09:46

Morning ladies, and congrats Milla!

How are we all today, sounds like a few of us are moving in the right direction!

Still no movement here and 41+3!
Had a sweep on Wednesday but nothing, booked in for an induction on Monday, but still hoping I go naturally by then.

Glad it's a bit cooler today, staying on the sofa today though as my ankles puffed up last night like crazy! (No other sinister symptoms)

What are we all up to?

ZingWidge · 20/07/2013 09:58

Reebok

update please!

the strong period pain you described is about right.
do you feel them as contractions or just a vague on & off ache?

ZingWidge · 20/07/2013 10:00

Tom and Two

I hope things will speed up for both of you.
it is nice and cool here too.
hopefully babies will be happy to pop out now!

MonstersDontCry · 20/07/2013 10:34

Congratulations milla! Grin did you know you were having a boy or was it a surprise?

Reebok, it really sounds like you're baby will be here soon! Exciting!

I'm going to have my THIRD sweep today. Really hope this one works. My DPs friend had their baby last night. She wasn't even due for another week so I'm feeling a bit Down today. Ten days late now argh!
