Plenty of oldies. Newbies always welcome.

GardenWorm · 19/07/2013 14:27

Ooh how exciting - I'm in the top ten on the stats list! Only 4 months to go. Eeeeeeeeeeeek! Grin

Thundercatsarego · 19/07/2013 15:30

Hi everyone

Hope you are all doing well, and congratulations to those with good scan news.
I've been half lurking mostly because I'm totally in denial about my bfp I think! I just can't imagine this is going to turn out ok. Still no real symptoms (very different to last time), which doesn't help.

I'm sorry to come on and be so me me me but I wondered if I might have a hug/slap? For some reason I'm feeling pretty low today. This is mostly because of feeling so incredibly tired but also the impending sense of doom. Is this just hormones?

Sorry again, I promise I'll try to be more cheery after today! x

IBelieveInPink · 19/07/2013 15:51

Thunder, lovely, this is a symptom in itself. You may have a hug. This is hormones doing crazy things to your otherwise completely sane brain! I think we have had a similar post from almost everyone on here at one point or another (some more than once, ahem, me). Remember, step by step. And no symptoms is a good thing as much as worrying - no bad cramps, no bleeding - all a sign that everything is going right. I know it's so hard to believe. Keep busy and keep looking forward to the next 'step'. Today you are pregnant.

Today we are pregnant. Amen.

BumpKitty · 19/07/2013 16:25

Hi thunder I wrote a similar post when I was 6 weeks and on holiday, I was so despondent and just sure the negative feelings meant everything had gone wrong, but its just stress and hormones and its really hard when you have no symptoms - but really doesn't mean anything. Unfortunately the only 'cure' is waiting, which is hellish. Keep very busy x

Argh garden you saying about being top 10 made me check the list and I seem to be 4th! How can that be!

Thanks shell I reckon I should be ok as I assume I'm not allergic to the actual leaves, maybe I could ask my GP ( I bet they think I'm a loon!).

omri sorry about your MIL, you must have amazing self control to not tell!

Hi myrtle congrats on the bfp and good luck for the scan x

LuckySocks13 · 19/07/2013 16:52

Hi ladies. Lets keep up that positivinfrigity. I love the today we are pregnant quote :) welcome to the newcomers. Take one day at a time. As others said we are all worriers here and with good reason so but positive thoughts are the way forward. I am now nearly 22 weeks and have even had several bleeds of bright red blood one meaning I needed an injection due to my blood type. Flipping scary but oh so thankful I am still here.
I just checked the stats list and am bumping myself from place 11 to 10 joint with Janie as I I'm sure we are both due on the 23rd!?
Today I had a day off and have been having a "spring clean". As we having a girl this time I've decided to get rid off all the boy clothes we won't use and see what vests and basics we already have. Been a bit emotional! Just realised our house had a severe lack of storage and now have know where to put all the stuff I have got out! Oopsey!

jmf294 · 19/07/2013 17:09

Thanks for all the wishes- scan went well and I'm expecting a healthy little boy.
So relieved as I spent most of last night thinking the baby had died as I hadn't felt him move in the last day.

Now for boys names?
Any suggestions????

Hope you all have a good weekend and lots of positive thoughts all round, one day at a time, today we are pregnant!!

pumpkinsweetie · 19/07/2013 17:11

Aww congrats jmf a little boySmile
Bet you are elaited alls well too xx

IBelieveInPink · 19/07/2013 17:12

Jmf that's fab news! Seeing as I will not be needing them, you can have my boy list.... :)
Harrison, Max, Adam, Nathan (Nate)
:)
Would be happy to hear any girl name suggestions, we are still struggling!

OP posts:
pumpkinsweetie · 19/07/2013 17:15

Finding out my baby's sex next weekend, we already have our names chosen already xander for a boy & Sapphire for a girl, trying to be positive although still shitting my pants at the same time! I will be 17 weeks for that and then i have my anomonally which i still haven't had a date through yetConfused hence the reason i booked a private scan too! Cant wait until 20+ weeks to see baby still alive and kicking.

Other names i liked for boys were Xante, Alexander, Sebastian & James x

Pentagon · 19/07/2013 17:40

Congratulations jmf - so happy for you!

Welcome myrtle and congratulations! I think 8-9 weeks is the best time to have an early scan as the risk of miscarriage falls dramatically after 8 weeks. The waiting is horrible but there's plenty of support and hand-holding here!

pixie glad to hear they gave you some drugs! Hope you're feeling better

I had my 25-week appointment this morning and everything is fine so very happy here Smile

I forgot to say that my due date has been brought forward to Oct.28th
but based on when I conceived it should be Nov.2nd (not that it's an exact science of course!)...I was 10 days late with DD anyway so I'm willing to bet that nothing will happen before early November - you never know of course!

omri · 19/07/2013 18:03

Welcome myrtle and congratulations.
Today we are pregnant - I love that will use it as my little mantra whenever I start to panic.

Pumpkin- love your names both reeeallly cool!

So my secret... Dp will be away for another 2 weeks!! I could really keep the secret for all that time. I'm enjoying keeping it to myself at the moment. Although that might change when 2 of my sisters call over for breakfast tmrw morn!!! Anyway think I have to tell him coz for first time in our 6 year relationship he is telling me he is buying some nice clothes for me over there. Eek don't want him to waste any money on stuff I won't fit into soon!!!! Money is going to be v v v tight ....

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 19/07/2013 19:22

Bless your DH Omri. Couldn't you just text and say "these clothes you're buying, could you make sure they are 'roomy' please? I'd have to think of some way of breaking it if I were you! I'm useless at secrets!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 19/07/2013 19:24

I am feeling really rough tonight! I worked today, the heat was excruciating! I came home and ate a couple of cheese wraps, they are now sitting on my stomach like concrete! Sad

shellsocks · 19/07/2013 20:12

pentagon the capsules are 400mg Smile Glad your appt went well x

thunder it's so tough isn't it, I still have days now where I fill up in relief when I feel the baby cos I'm convinced something's wrong....there is no answer except you have to take the rough with the smooth...you'll wake up another day full of posifrickintivity and then go down and back up again, it's our curse x

Brilliant jmf and a little boy, very exciting Grin We need a boys name too so if you get a goodun let me know Wink

pink our girls name has been Evie since my first BFP...convinced ill never get to use it tho!

saggy remember that you wished for this....embrace the symptoms Grin

shellsocks · 19/07/2013 20:15

Meant to say anda have you and your DH got anywhere with names yet? If you don't mind sharing that is Smile

andadietcoke · 19/07/2013 20:20

Thanks Shell. Just need to get blackholes to add her's - we both agreed we would about four weeks ago now!

Thunder you can definitely have a hug. I promise we've all been there. I had entire weekends when I just lay in bed crying because I had no symptoms and was just waiting for it all to go wrong. Time will be going so slowly, I know. Take every day as it comes, and accept that symptoms will come and go. Cramps can be stretching, spotting can be normal. You are pregnant until someone tells you you're not.

JMF yay, and a boy - congratulations! My boy names were Charlie, Garrett and Sebastian. Last boy babies from my friends have been Zak, Riley, James and Jonah.

andadietcoke · 19/07/2013 20:31

Shell Evie is lovely!

We're at a bit of a stand off. I've even considered posting in 'baby names' and then remember I'm incredibly hormonal and they'll make me cry

The only names we can agree on are Sophie and Charlotte but I'm worried they're too 'top ten'. I've always loved Eleni but can't come up with anything to go with it. Also like Mia, Mila, Xanthe, Naomi, Ruby and Elodie.

Surname is Brown so we can't have colours or flowers.

GardenWorm · 19/07/2013 20:56

Congrats Jmf! Grin

Hey Thunder hope you are feeling a bit chirpier? If not hopefully tomorrow will be a better day (I always feel a weight off my shoulders the morning after if I've been feeling a bit down in the dumps)

Anda I wouldn't put too much on the Top 10, in 2011 our DD had a name that wasn't even Top 50 but looked the other day and it's now virtually Top 10. Pick a name because you love it as you never know how popular it will become (although I would have a Royal back up plan in case they pick your fave Smile)

GardenWorm · 19/07/2013 20:58

Oh and why no flowers? Flowers go with Brown!

IBelieveInPink · 19/07/2013 21:06

Oh balls. Baby has been super quiet today, so called midwife hoping for reassurance. Now have to go in for monitoring. This can't be good can it. :( and DH away. Balls.
