Thread for ladies who are freaking out panicking slightly when preggy after miscarriage.
Plenty of oldies. Newbies always welcome.

I love the chest licking thread!!
Thanks for all the well wishes all. Gary time is definitely going backwards today! Am now down to 3 hours till I leave work. Am sure we will both be fine! Grin

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 17/07/2013 12:32

I love the chest licking thread too. I love how across the country DHs everywhere are getting suddenly licked by their partners.

Well done on dtd Saggy.

I'm feeling rotten today. I'm not sick as such. Just feel hot (well doesn't everyone), kind of spaced out, dizzy headachey, tired and 'poorly'. Drinking like a fish so not dehydrated. Like a hangover but without the sickness. What is morning sickness actually like?! Stupid question but maybe I'm looking exclusively for nausea/vomiting as reassurance. Boobs don't hurt anymore either. Just want time to pass!

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 17/07/2013 12:32

Oh and good luck with the scans guys! Am a bit self absorbed today. Apologies. Xx

IBelieveInPink · 17/07/2013 12:47

Omg I have just wasted the entire work morning reading that chest licking thread. Hysterical.

OP posts:
andadietcoke · 17/07/2013 12:53

I will go and read it, but I can categorically say I will never ever lick DH's chest. It's way (way) too hairy. We were giggling at the tamba class when they were talking about skin to skin contact/kangaroo care - he stands no chance! We think if he tucks them under his arms there's no hair down the side of him. Unfortunately the back is out too Shock

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/07/2013 12:56

Yay! Ive just had a call from the midwife. Smile Booking appointment is on Monday 5 August.
Im quite happy! The midwife was from my local unit, not the hospital. I really want the MLU for delivery, as I really want a water birth. Sadly, due to my BMI I have to have CLC and probably the ob unit at the hospital. They don't have a pool. Sad
Im thinking of telling the consultant that I am having a home birth and aim for a compromise! Wink Im only slightly over the limit, healthy and active. I DO NOT want to be strapped to a monitor and pinned to a bed! Sad

pumpkinsweetie · 17/07/2013 13:05

Same here saggy at the moment i'm down for hospital ob led birth, instead of the MLU that is right next door!!! But mw says this could change if the consultant who sees me at 20wks thinks i'm healthy and my gtt comes back ok. I am bmi 38 and if i must give birth at the hosp strapped to the bed i will, obviouslyGrin but i'm hoping for mlu as a compromise against home birth as my other pregnancies were all normal deliveries with no complications.
I was told by the 1st mw i saw i should expect a large baby because of my raised bmiShock, although my others were small babies!! What a difference 1 & 1/2 stone makes!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/07/2013 13:11

I WILL NOT be strapped to a monitor. I was induced the first 2 times. It was hell. I am going to be climbing stairs sideways, drinking raspberry tea and shagging for Britain if I go over! Grin I quite fancy a home birth actually. Sadly as I previously tested + for group B strep, I need antibiotics in labour.

shellsocks · 17/07/2013 13:36

That felt good Grin

Good luck today Christine and gary Smile

pixie I second gary get checked out if you can.

Wow saggy kudos to you and your DH, just don?t tell mine Wink Hope you feel ill again soon iykwim Smile and glad your booking in is all sorted

DIYandEatCake · 17/07/2013 14:37

jess congratulations! So pleased that all went well and that you're all back home together.

Good luck christine and gary.

saggy, I'm trying not to think ahead to the birth too much yet, will be hospital and monitoring for me too if I'm lucky enough to get a 'natural' delivery as it will be a vbac. I'm really trying to stay positive and make the best of it, even if it ends up being another elcs, but can't help mourning the water birth I'll never get to have just a little bit too! We have a long way to go yet though, who knows what will happen.

camomile I had the feeling you describe for several weeks, it's rough. From about 8-11 weeks I felt really sick too, though only a few days of actual vomiting. You may find you start going off food that you previously loved, and start wanting just particular kinds of food (I ate lots of potato waffles!). It's all a good sign Smile

I'm resting in bed knackered now while dd naps, looked after a friend's 2yo dd too this morning and yesterday morning as their childminder is ill, it's been quite full on!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 17/07/2013 15:03

Well done on DTD Saggy!
Hurrah for MW apt too, I was induced & strapped to the bed with DS..was a horrible long old labour, want to avoid that this time around, joining you on the raspberry leaf & pineapples!

Scan went well, nothing to worry about. You lot could've told me that yesterday Wink
Although having another scare has put DH off homebirth (he was never keen on it) so not going to be arranging that (he's birthing partner & it would stress me out having him not comfortable).

DIY, hope your restful nap time helped!

ChristineDaae · 17/07/2013 15:21

Yay! So glad your scan went well Gary! Ours was perfect, little bean jumping around and waving his arms!Grin

GardenWorm · 17/07/2013 15:29

Fab Gary Grin

Read 1st and last page of the boss tongue lick - cant be bothered with the other 38, can someone give me the abridged version?!!!

Hope you late scan ladies are out and have had successful ones Smile

shellsocks · 17/07/2013 15:38

Great scan news christine and gary relief all round Smile.

No way my DH would agree to a home birth gary Shock

I may be telling you all something you know but, raspberry leaf is not for bringing on labour once you are overdue, but to shorten the second stage of labour as it encourages the uterus to contract stronger (it was the only good bit of my labour I got from 4-10cm in a few hours which MW said was prob due to RLT) so starting taking it near the end is pretty pointless.

I took the capsules from 32w, starting at one a day and building up to 6 (I think) by my due date and will defo be doing the same this time...I have details of what stages to increase them at home if anyone wants me to post it later Smile

Pentagon · 17/07/2013 15:58

jess so good to hear from you! Wonderful news, congratulations on the birth of your baby boy! Lovely name too Smile

gary, christine hurray! So glad all is well! gary I've just noticed that your EDD is my DH's birthday!

The lick thread is so funny - I'm impressed it got 1000 messages in 2 days...I won't be able to read the whole thing this afternoon, I won't get any work done!! I think the heat is making everyone raunchy! I practically begged DH to DTD last night but he didn't give in (damn...) I shall try again tonight!

shell thanks for the info on rasberry leaf. I started drinking the tea at 37 weeks last time but it didn't do much (it was too late probably) - I had to be induced after getting to 5 cm as I wasn't dilating quickly enough - and hated the flavour of the tea anyway. So this time I'll follow your example - all being well - and start taking the capsules at 32 weeks. If you could post some more info later, I'd be grateful!

anda I understand your dilemma, hopefully both babies will be in the same position at your next scan and you will get an answer!

Pixielady83 · 17/07/2013 19:09

great scan news gary and christine Smile Smile Smile

I will go to the dr tomorrow, thanks for the advice ladies. Don't feel worse but don't feel right.

Licking thread turns out to have been a hoax or something... boo! even if it was fictional I would like to have known the fictional ending Grin

I would be interested to hear about raspberry leaf cap dosage, I took last time and my labour progressed quite quickly so really want to take them again (if I get that far)

shellsocks · 17/07/2013 20:09

Raspberry leaf capsules dosage is, every day from:

32 weeks one with lunch, one with tea

34 weeks one with lunch, two with tea

36 weeks two with lunch, two with tea

38 weeks one with brekky, two with lunch, two with tea

39 weeks two with brekky, two with lunch, two with tea

I also ate a pineapple a day from my due date but as DS was born 12 days late I wouldn't recommend it Grin

IBelieveInPink · 17/07/2013 20:24

And what does this do shell? Did you say it doesn't bring on labour, just makes contractions stronger (or more effective) when labour starts?

OP posts:
shellsocks · 17/07/2013 20:38

Yes, well that's what they say...but as you have no test subject it's impossible to tell!

All I know is my second stage was great compared to the rest and MW said that was prob down to a RL Smile

IBelieveInPink · 17/07/2013 20:45

That's enough for me! I will stock up!

OP posts:
SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 17/07/2013 20:47

A PINEAPPLE A DAY??!!!! Confused

shellsocks · 17/07/2013 20:59

Ha ha yep saggy I have PGP and was in pain and knackered and just wanted him out! Had vindaloo and we actually managed sex too once I was overdue ha ha Wink

BumpKitty · 17/07/2013 21:02

Hmmm, very interesting re Raspberry Leaf Capsules. I didn't take any last time and my labour was pretty fast but who doesn't want to speed up that 2nd stage! The only thing is I'm allergic to raspberries would that matter? (Not like anaphylaxis just skin rashes).

Ace news gary and christine Grin

camo i know just what you mean - i just feel not quite right, light headed and spinny - not fun. Hope you're feeling better.

omri · 17/07/2013 21:04

Em.. Hello... i actually just posted a new thread 5 mins ago. Just got a BFP 1 hour ago - miscarried 4 months ago. Terrified!! I want to feel happy but keep thinking the worst. So can I join your positivity and hand holding thread?
