Thread for ladies who are freaking out panicking slightly when preggy after miscarriage.
Plenty of oldies. Newbies always welcome.

Ooh Anda that is a lot of bump in this heat! Glad everything is hunky dorey for you x

Also yay to Guff n Rock Grin

Gary I measured small in my last pg and had an extra scan, just to reassure you it was totally wrong and had a 7lb 7 oz baby. Have to say; really how exact a science is a tape measure on your belly? Smile

andadietcoke · 16/07/2013 15:27

pentagon I can't decide! Some days I think vaginal because of the recovery time, other days I think ELCS because there's a higher risk of needing an EMCS with Twin 2 anyway, and recovery would be slower after pushing the first one out.

I was hoping for either both cephalic or both transverse so I'd have a mode of delivery to get used to!

DIYandEatCake · 16/07/2013 15:31

Yay for the all the good scan news today! And welcome christine!
Hope it's not a migraine blackholes, I get those and so completely sympathise. Mine are worst in early pregnancy, really suffered from weeks 8-15 this time, touch wood only had one mild one since then (they stopped at 18w with dd too), did you get them all the way through last time?
gary hope all is well tomorrow, my bump measured small last time but dd was normal sized on scan measurement (though fluid was on the low side) and 6.14 when she was born.
Wow anda respect! Wonder what their combined weight will be at the end?
Well finally got a scan appointment after badgering the hospital for the third time, a week today - eek! Feeling cautiously optimistic as the baby's kicking lots now, but will still be a massive relief if all is ok, really hope I can join all you happy post 20 weekers soon!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 15:52

Oooh kicking! I cant wait to feel the baby kick, I remember it so well. I have dreams where I feel a baby in there! Confused

IBelieveInPink · 16/07/2013 15:58

I love the kicking. I do. I adore it. But it is very hard to concentrate at work when you have a baby rolling around in your tummy shouldn't have eaten 2 chocolate bars

Diet - sorry you didn't get an answer to focus on. Maybe not knowing is better though, you know if you had a decision either way you would worry about it!

DIY ha! I'm trying not to think about it! Good news about your scan date too Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 16:09

Ive just worked out there's at least 10 weeks before I feel any kicking! Sad

BumpKitty · 16/07/2013 16:41

What a day for lovely news! So pleased for all the scanees!
anda that is very impressive! And you have two placentas in there too (dont you?) and they are huge!

shellsocks · 16/07/2013 16:50

Wow busy day! Great news all round too, fabulous!

Congrats on the scans guff rock and anda Grin

LuckySocks13 · 16/07/2013 17:07

:) big yey for all the scan news and all the newcomers. What a positive few days. Long may it continue :)

BlackholesAndRevelations · 16/07/2013 17:12

Well I slept for about an hour on and off (mummy instinct meant one ear on my DD!) and felt a bit better when I got up. Now after lots of water I feel ok. Thanks DIY and pentagon Smile I didn't get them all the way through, DIY, just once. It was so scary as obviously losing vision etc are signs of preeclampsia, and i was heavily oreg at the time. Maybe this wasn't a migraine or just a mild one; hopefully I won't start getting them properly!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 16/07/2013 17:22

Anda- I understand your need for planning!! I'd be itching tk know too. Hopefully next time you'll know for sure! Also respect at carrying two babies in this heat!

andadietcoke · 16/07/2013 17:31

bump yep - two placentas and two amniotic sacs, so two lots of fluid.

Chocolateteabag · 16/07/2013 18:46

I can't keep up with how quickly this thread moves! Great scan news everyone!
Great to see you here Christine - good luck tomorrow and for you too Gary

Anda I have much respect for you in this heat carrying two!

it's lovely weather (if too hot) so of course I am getting a stinky cold, paracetamol isn't really doing much and already sick of honey and lemon. (wallow)

GuffSmuggler · 16/07/2013 18:56

anda glad scan all went well, poor you carry so much load in this heat!! Sorry I haven't been on the thread very long so you must have answered this - do you know the sex?

It is too hot. I'm a typical miserable English person, I hate the heat! Give me a cold winters day and snuggling inside with the fire any day Grin

Lieslvontrapp · 16/07/2013 18:58

Great scan news for guff and rock! anda shame you didnt get a birth plan but not much longer to wait now!

Good luck with scans tomorrow for christine and gary im sure baby measurements will be fine as surely bump size is not very accurate.

andadietcoke · 16/07/2013 19:00

guff two girls!

People keep offering their sympathy about how uncomfortable I must be. I promised myself after the mc that I would never ever complain about being pregnant, and that remains the case. Today I'm pregnant.

GuffSmuggler · 16/07/2013 19:45

You are right anda I will never moan about being pregnant now! Aww 2 girls, lovely!

gary I agree with garden the tape measure method does seem a bit unscientific and I've heard of people being told their babies are big or small and then have perfectly normal sized ones.

Bodicea · 16/07/2013 19:58

Congrats on all the great scan news today xx obviously a lucky day.

So sneezing away today and fetal med consultant asked why i wasn't taking antihistamines - coz I am pregnant! Pronounced it load of rubbish and prescribed me piriton. Fuming that I have been suffering all this time. Wonder what other stuff we are banned from is perfectly fine!

Mind you he also said that spd doesn't really exist and should be banned from medical language. Bit more skeptical about that one although do think it is over diagnosed.

JanieLovesLuckySocks · 16/07/2013 20:21

loving all the good scan news today woohoo!! i will forgive the lack of lucky socks on grounds of being so hot! maybe tuesday is the new lucky scan day :)

anda i am with you on the trying not to complain malarky. i keep trying to remember that if i wasn't pregnant then i wouldn't have all these little aches and pains and complaints.

one little niggle (trying not to complain!) i was going to ask about was... have any of you ladies experienced any pain when you are in bed? i am sleeping on my side and keep waking up with agonising pain down the side of my thigh that i'm not lying on. i roll onto the other side and then the other leg gets the pain. really painful. i have been using the big long pillow between my legs that helped for 2 nights but now the pain is back and seems to be getting worse. not sure if this is a normal pg pain or if should be doing something. went swimming after work for the first time in yonks to see if it might helps loosen the muscles or something.

jessw25 · 16/07/2013 21:23

Hi all - it was a boy! Baby Oliver was born last Tuesday, 5lb11 :-)

SO sorry for lack of announcement on here, I now feel very guilty (considering the fab support you've shown me over the last few weeks ) but have only just really today been feeling myself and after nearly 6 weeks away from home, we've been having a babymoon with making the outside world waiting for a few days. I've been meaning to put it on here for days but have just been so tired!

After all that he was delivered a day early, but still as a scheduled section. It was meant to be on the Weds as you know but they had a free slot on the Tues afternoon and the labour ward was very quiet so at 11am on Tues, I'm sitting around just watching tv and the midwife came round and asked if I'd mind having the baby at 2pm that afternoon instead of waiting till the next morning, ahhhh! What a whirlwind! It was nice actually as meeting him a day early felt like a bit of a treat after being in there for so many weeks waiting.

Need to spend some time catching up with all your news on here but lots of love and best wishes to you all - today you are pregnant :-)

x

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 16/07/2013 21:30

Awe. Huge congratulations Jess. Welled up a bit reading that. It all sounds lovely. How lovely to have the last 24 hours of waiting magicked away too. Hugs. X
