Thread for ladies who are freaking out panicking slightly when preggy after miscarriage.
Plenty of oldies. Newbies always welcome.

guff how wonderful - congratulations!! I know, I've had those terrifying seconds too and then the relief and joy Smile

Welcome christine! 12 weeks - that's great! All the best for your scan tomorrow, let us know how it goes!

Rockchick1984 · 16/07/2013 11:41

Everything was perfect!!! Measuring 6+5, heartbeat from external scan, couldn't be happier!! They have agreed to another scan in 2 weeks so I'm past the time the baby died last time, but TODAY I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!

Anda I copied your no socks = lucky socks :)

GuffSmuggler · 16/07/2013 11:42

i'm in the same boat and hoping for the same outcome - what are these lucky socks? may have to acquire some, maybe i will wear a few pairs for good measure

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 16/07/2013 11:50

Hey folks,

Apologies for going awol - this BFP has put me in an extremely 'funny' place and so am trying to avoid the whole thing as much as possible for 20 weeks!

But I had a lurk today and saw Thunder and JBrd's news so wanted to add my massive CONGRATULATIONS. Over the moon for you both.

Welcome ChristineDaae - it is scary for some reason isn't it. I'm also lurking on the due March 2013 thread but actually incapable of joining. Well done for getting up the nerve and big CONGRATULATIONS to you too.

Good luck with the scans today everyone - hope they go well.

Saggy - I'm also cramping alot more than last time. I'm reconceptualising it in my own head as 'stretching' to make myself feel better.

I'm still not sick so still terrified a bit anxious about that. However, I'm officially in love with my local EPU. Was supposed to have my initial appointment with my GP this week but it was cancelled - I was gutted so phoned the EPU direct which you're not technically supposed to do and just wittered down the phone to a lovely lady about how worried I am. They've booked me in for a reassurance scan next Weds when I'll be 7 weeks. Yay. They were brilliant with the miscarriage too - I'm thinking of writing a letter of praise. I Love the NHS.

I haven't had a chance to catch up with everything as I'm at work so apologies if I've missed anything. Hope everyones basically happy and healthy - have we heard from Jess yet?

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 16/07/2013 11:50

Yay Guff!!! Smile

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 16/07/2013 11:52

pumpkinsweetie · 16/07/2013 11:55

And yay for guff too, such lovely newsSmile

Pentagon · 16/07/2013 12:04

rock that's great! So happy for you!! And how lovely of them to offer you another scan in 2 weeks' time (I didn't get this unfortunately despite asking)

camo really glad you have a scan appointment next week! I love the NHS too Smile

GaryBuseysTeeth · 16/07/2013 12:09

Welcome Christine! Good luck for tomorrow!

Congrats Guff and Rock.

Cam, your EPU sounds lovely, so glad you'll be getting a reassurance scan.

Not heard from Jess, but hoping she & DC are home and just melting in this heat.

Just got back from the MW, she booked me in for a homebirth assessment (hurrah) and THEN noticed I'm measuring small (32wks, I'm 36wks). Arses.
Should be getting a scan appointment over the phone today/tomorrow, had a private one booked for Saturday anyhoo so not sure if I should cancel it yet?

JBrd · 16/07/2013 12:11

Great to hear about all the good scan news, keep them coming!

Man, I could KILL for a proper cup of coffee (or three)! Herbal tea just doesn't cut it Confused

IBelieveInPink · 16/07/2013 12:20

Wow it is an exciting day!

Massive cheers and pompoms for guff and rock!!

Welcome to Christine - good luck for tomorrow!

cam thats great, how nice of them! Wish my local one was that nice! So pleased for you.

gary mini yay to another scan to see baby? Im sure you just have a k-middy bump and are delicately hiding baby away, fingers crossed they give you the go ahead for the home birth you are hoping for!

Rockchick1984 · 16/07/2013 12:25

Jbrd you can have 2 cups of proper coffee a day - I can't survive without a real, caffeinated coffee to wake me up in the mornings Grin

Gary hopefully its nothing to worry about and is just less water or something - let us know how the scan goes.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 16/07/2013 12:45

Congrats rock and guff! Fab news! Grin

Welcome Christine!

I thinn I'm getting another preg related migraine... Never had one before til preg with my son, then got a very scatty one and went in to hospital where thru eventually diagnosed migraine. Today had the visual disturbance followed by bad headache. Have taken paracetamol but might lie down for a bit. Luckily DS is asleep and my big girl should be ok for a bit. Ouch. Work tomorrow too.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 16/07/2013 12:48

Scary, not scatty! Though I'm definitely that. Hmm

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 12:58

Cam I also quite love our local EPAU. Apart from the mad doctor I saw after the MC scan, who asked me why I was crying! When I said it was because there was no baby, he said..."Well, I can assure you that however worried you are, we are a LOT more worried"!!!!!
He meant because they thought it was ectopic, but it came across just WRONG! Confused he was foreign
I can see the funny side of it now, but at the time I was Shock The sonographer, Christine?? was bloody marvellous!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 12:59

P.S. we are a week apart. We are SO going to end up at the same antenatal group! Grin

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 16/07/2013 13:15

I really hope so Saggy. Aside from the fact that that would mean both our pregnancies are healthy it would be good fun. We'd have to have some kind of code to identify ourselves to each other (as occurs in blind dates). I'll wear a pink maternity top and stripy wellies, put my hair in bunchies, and carry my bounty folder in my left hand for the first meeting!

Yes I had a good sonographer too - though shamefully can't remember her name as spent most of the appointment in tears - Christine does ring a bell though.

I have a glimmer (only a glimmer mind) of posifrickintivity today!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 13:35

And I will wear denim dungarees and crocs on the wrong feet, have a pony tail and wear orange eye liner! Grin
Have you seen Roo's Baby Shop in town? My friend runs it, she has some lovely things.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/07/2013 13:37

Ive worked out that my cramps must be my stomach muscles being rearranged/tweaked. Ive just been for a walk and its started up again!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 16/07/2013 14:18

Scan is tomorrow afternoon, DH taking the day off work. Going to be wearing my Mr.Grumpy socks (stolen from best friend).

IBIP, how do you know I'm not K-Middy? Wink

Blackholes, hope you're 'just' having a bad headache, migraines are horrible.

andadietcoke · 16/07/2013 14:57

Yay for guff and rock (and the breakaway 'no socks' faction Wink)

Mine was okay too. Twin 1 is cephalic, Twin 2 is transverse, but it still sounded like they'd encourage me to have a c-section, but they'll make a decision at 36w. So no answers for me today. However, with one baby at 3lb14oz and the other at 4lb14oz I am slightly freaked out that at 32 weeks I have 8lb12oz of baby inside me!

Pentagon · 16/07/2013 15:16

yay for the good scan anda! They may both be cephalic in a months' time! Would you prefer a c-section or natural birth? Or don't mind?

Gary how are you feeling? I had period pains for 2 days before my waters broke but also had a UTI so my story is a bit complicated! Good luck with your scan tomorrow, it's probably nothing worrying, just the baby's position? I guess you'll cancel the private scan now?
